"I purchased a Lian Li PC-V1100B plus Computer Case from SilverPC.com. I went to SilverPC.com because I saw that they had donated the same case to MaximumPC for a fund-raising project and auction to benefit the Hurricane Katrina victims through the Red Cross and Salvation Army.
I found the website very easy to navigate. The design is very minimalist and does not waste your time with unessessary ads, links, or flash animations. The detailed descriptions could be a bit more detailed. However, most people that are in the market for these type of higher end cases and parts will be savvy enough to find more detailed speciifications on the manufactures or other websites. Maybe linking back to the manufacturers website would help here.
SilverPC has a very complete stock of Lian Li cases and accessories. However, they are not quite as well stocked on other PC parts such as Processors, Hard Drives, Memory, Video Cards, etc. For the Lian Li case they were the low cost price leader. The shipping charges were higher than most of the other e-tailer sites but still reasonable. Even taking into account the higher shipping charges the total price was still lower than those of the other e-tailers.
The purchasing process went very smoothly. It took a couple of days to process the order and receive a shipping confirmation but well within an acceptable time period. The item was shipped via UPS and I was provided a tracking number. I was not e-mailed the tracking number but rather had to login to SilverPC to check the status of my order and obtain the tracking number. The tracking number was also not hyper-linked to the UPS website. Small details but ones that are nonetheless small detractors considering that most e-tailers provide these services.
My computer case arrived 7 days after placing the order. Very good order fufillment time considering that I am on the opposite coast from SilverPC. The product arrived packaged in the manufacturer's box which had received some damage and marring during the shipping process. The computer case itself was not damaged at all and in perfect physical condition. Since I was the end user for the enclosed computer case the shipping box damage was not a problem but could be somewhat problematic if I wanted to resell the case. High end case purchasers can be very finicky about such seemingly trivial matters. A second box enclosing the manufacturer's box would have been prefered.
Overall I am very happy with SilverPC and would recommend them as a good source for Lian Li cases. They are a bit hit and miss on other PC components but should get a look anyways because if a component is stocked then SilverPC has very competitive pricing. I would recommend they tweak their order system a little as elaborated on in the above paragraphs."
"LIAN-LI v1100 Plus (BLACK)
Very responsive, same day shipping, cheapest price on the net from anyone I've seen. Recommended from MaximumPC for this Case. Very pleasant to deal with and if they have something in the future I need, I'm buying it through them. Thanks SilverPCS.

"I used price comparison to find a Seagate 400GB hard disk. silverpcs.com came lowest at $167, however after I placed the order, they phoned me with a price of $220. I cancelled the order. I thought it was a genuine mistake, but I have since searched the web for reviews of this seller, to find that they have done this before, see for example vts1008 at http://www.resellerratings.com/seller6708.html . Be wary of this seller, they are quoting low prices to look good in price comparison, then increasing the price by phone.

"I bought a Lian-Li 2100B full-tower case. I was worried about SilverPCs because they didn't seem to have many ratings. But they are the Lian-Li distributor for the US and they had all the accessories I wanted. I ordered it Sunday night, *they* proactively called *me* Monday and said they didn't have it in black. I said I needed black and needed it by x-mas. They said they would see what they could do. They called and e-mailed me back on Wed (with UPS tracking number) saying the right case was on the way. Assuming they didn't ship me somebody's old case I am extremely satisfied with their being proactive and their responsiveness.
Not only that, their price was better than NewEgg."
"I ordered some parts for my Lian Li PC65b case from this company. Definitely a company I will deal with in the future. I ordered early on Friday, and they shipped the same day. Items arrived right on schedule and were just what I had ordered. "
"After reading a few of the reviews here, I was hesitant to purchase from silverpcs.com (JCL). However, they had a case (Lian Li PC-V1000 Plus) that I really wanted so I went ahead and ordered it. I found out a few hours after I placed the order that I could get the same case from somewhere else that had a better reputation. I cancelled my order and went to bed. I got a phone call the next morning from silverpcs and they said that they would give me discounted shipping if I would reinstate my order. I was more impressed with their service than the discounted shipping and I reordered. They shipped the same day and my case arrived in perfect condition in good packaging. I'll definitely consider purchasing from them again because of their great service."
"Lousy store. On phone, they quoted a higher price than website. They even voided an order I placed online at the lower price without even informing me. They did not reply to my emails and gave an excuse that they did not have my email address.
Avoid this store at all costs."
"After reading a few of the bad reviews I was hesitant to order from Silver PCS, however they had the parts I needed. I telephoned instead, just to make sure that they actually had the parts I wanted in stock. I mentioned I was calling rather than placing my order on-line because of the bad reviews. I was delighted with the helpful response. I was also able to order a Lian-Li part that wasn't shown on the site. My first order arrived a bit slow, but everything was there. I placed this second order on-line and once again everything arrived as described. This is a good place to get Lian-Li replacement parts."
"This was both my first purchase from SilverPcs and my last. Communication was lacking severely...and that is putting it nicely. The shipping was horrible. Yes I got it on time, but the way they packaged it, I am surprised that it got to me in one piece. I will not order from SilverPcs again, and it is of my opinion that others should be wary before deciding to as well. If my experience with them is any indicator at all about the way they treat their business, I would be surprised if they last through 2005."
"Non-existent customer service. I found a microATX case that had intrigued me for some time; got an immediate response to my inquiry whether they had it in stock. Promptly ordered it from them, but found that the manufacturer's advertised dimensions were considerably smaller than the true dimensions. I requested an RMA and received no response. I then wrote again, mentioning ResellerRatings and explaining that I would also be requesting a chargeback from my credit card company if they refused to respond. "Eve" emailed me an RMA. I shipped the case back promptly and have proof of delivery on 9/7/04. So far, they have yet to credit my account. There's been no response to my email enquiries on the status of my RMA. I'm now working with my credit card company to get my money back. I bought a different case elsewhere and will never buy from them again.
UPDATE: I received a credit through my bank and SilverPCs has now begun harrassing me, leaving messages for me at home about "my order," which "happens" to have a newly issued invoice number. Be very wary about doing business with these crooked people!! I'm sorry I ever took a chance on them.
UPDATE 11/16/04. Kelly with SilverPC researched the status of my return and apologized profusely for the mix-up. They received the case, but didn't log it correctly. She promised that they would discontinue their collections efforts and also discussed my situation with her manager. I received good service in the end. I also got the impression that the person who had screwed my return up is no longer there."
"I was looking for a Lian Li PC-65 and I also wanted to order the extra usb/firewire/audio panel as well. Silver PCs was the only merchant I could find that had the Lian Li usb/firewire/audio front panel for sale. I was a bit hesitant about ordering from Silver PCs because of the poor review here, however, it was just one review and I thought I'd give them a chance.
I decided to call Silver PCs and double-check the front panel and make sure it would fit the PC-65(The website said the panel was for newer Lian Li cases only). I also thought this might give me a good feel for "what they're like". I talked to a sales rep and he said the front panel would fit the PC-65 and even offered to install it for me. He said that when I ordered, to put in the comments that I needed the front panel installed.
I ordered the case and front panel on the night of the 4th, it shipped the next day and I got it at my house on Tuesday the 10th.
All in all, I was happy with the service and the staffs helpfulness. Even though, installing the front panel was probably an easy job that I probably could have done myself, It was one less thing for me to have to worry about. It was that little extra effort that most online companies seem to be missing. I WILL be doing business with Silver PCs again. Great Job! "
"No online stock information available. Ordered the item anyhow and then my order went into process. After a week with no new information I called to find out that they did not have the item in stock and it would not be in stock for at least a couple of months. The same item was still showing on their website a week after my I found out that they did not have it. A very unprofessionally run web merchant. Would not recommend. "
"An interesting experience, to say the least. I ordered a Lian-Li Pc12 from them because it was the cheapest on available online. It turns out it was also used, with fingerprints and a few scratches. When I called to ask for an RMA, they offered to refun $40 of the price. Even though I disapprove of them selling me a case without telling me beforehand it was used, I took the offer. A bit dishonest on their part perhaps, but nowhere on their site does it say the case I was ordering was or wasn't new. Shipping was surprisingly fast, though I suppose that's because of UPS.
In the end, I got a slightly-used $200 case for $100. Not bad."
