"Sling has come along way. It started with some basic channel choices plus optional group category channels (sports). It now has more channels and options with the addition to record capabilities (not all channels yet) and on demand. You pay for what you want, cancel any options anytime - - do this for different sport seasons. No specials you have to beg for when they expire. Just straight fix pricing (good). They keeping adding channels. I hope the become true Ala Carte and have the option to add single channels. Very happy and have convinced a few family members and friends to "cut the cord" as well. Try it and if you don't like it cancel. They offer a free and low price Roku as well,"
"I lovesling but I watch it on the Xbox and it is horrible. Please fix the app. I am thinking about canceling it because the quality is so poor on the Xbox. If I watch it on my fire, it works great. "
"Overall I'm very pleased with the Sling service, which I've had for about six months. I am not into sports so I chose the Sling Blue package, which offers most of what I wanted, namely the major cable channels. I added the channels I wanted that aren't included in the basic Blue package and the DVR service and am still paying significantly less than I was previously paying for more or less the same programming via satellite tv. Since I was already paying for my internet service anyway, that did not factor into my decision to go with Sling.
For the most part the service works well and when it doesn't it's due to my internet service slowing down. I've learned that by going into the Sling settings menu on my Roku and FireTV players I can slow the needed bandwidth to a medium video quality speed and that usually solves buffering problems when I have them. The video quality at the medium setting is still very good, probably at least the same quality as a DVD.
Since there is no long term commitment you can try the service and if you're not pleased with it you can terminate it an any time. I am, overall, very pleased with Sling TV."
"We only ordered sling to have access to ESPN during football season. As log as ESPN is not not on firestick/roku next season then we will be getting sling again."
"Take control of your TV viewing"
"Sling TV delivers exactly what they advertise at an affordable price. It's a great product, and I've never had any technical, billing, or other types of problems with the service or company. I get the exact channels I want, without other unnecessary channels, at a reasonable price.
I highly recommend Sling for anyone looking to cut the cord, but who still wants to be able to watch their favorite TV shows."
"The only thing that is a bit irritating about Sling is that it spins more than any of the other streaming apps I use. It will stop in the middle of a show and have to load. This does not happen with Hulu or Netflix."
"Good alternative to cable or satellite. The only complaint would be that in order to get more than 1 stream, you have to select the "Blue" package but that doesn't include ESPN. Bring a multi-stream option with the "Orange" package and I would come back. "
"They keep asking "are you there". They cut me off when I'm on for a long time."
"I would have switched, but my daughter and wife were afraid of bolixing up the available programs they like (DIY, Project Runway, and SYFY's Face-Whatever makeup challenge, etc.) In the end, what should have been a $40/mo or less subscription ended up being $60/mo to get the necessary ala carte channels the three of us wanted. I was in for the ESPN sports channels and found that I frequently got the games on Sling suddenly and frequently to freeze-frame or go into an endless load loop, forcing me to go through PC or Roku gymnastics, depending what media I used, to get the game going again for a bit before another lockup. The lockups seemed often to be related to shifts between the program content and the commercial content, but otherwise were as mysterious as they were routine (btw, others online have complained similarly about this Sling "feature"). Finally, we've had riots around here when any two of us wanted to watch two different programs on two different media units with both programs exclusively available through the Sling Orange Channel on a single connection at a time basis. Consequently, someone usually "wins" and someone "loses", leading to regular miffed feelings toward one another that are entirely Sling's fault. We avoid this problem if at least one of the channels is duped on Blue, but we could avoid such issues all together by moving, for example, to one of several other vendors (which I'd rather do as noted above) whom do not so severely limit access to content."
"Nice to see more channels added."
"I never have an issue with it!"
"I love sling. I haven't had cable in years and I missed watching sports games, especially hockey! Sling has great options for sports and I also get a few other channels that I watch now too. They also have wonderful customer service and even responded back immediately on facebook a few times. The only thing that made me give a 4 instead of 5 was the two choices for channels. You can get orange and blue options but I thought that was too expensive but occasionally there are other sports games I'd like to watch on the other option. "
"Great alternative service to cable and satellite. Use an OTA antenna for the basic channels Sling does not offer and then you are set. Sling you need a TV app then you are perfect!"
"Changed my program options so my husband could continue to get the weather nation. It was taken care of quickly and my husband is a happy camper again. "
