Also, it took Smarthome several days to process the order, so shipping was delayed. Like many consumers, I've come to expect orders to be shipped within 24 hours."

"I placed an order during a sale, the website said the item was out of stock but I was able to back-order the item. A few days later they emailed me and said they canceled the order. I contacted them several times to try to get them to honor what they agreed to. They either ignore the email or just say that they canceled the order."

"Overall, dealing with Smarthome was OK. Using their discount codes was very tedious. Even though they gave a broad description of what was on sale (eg 55% off 5 packs), it was not clear what other items were covered under broader discounts. SO ... since their cart only gave an overall savings off the bottom line and not itemized savings per item, I had to add items one at a time to see what discount they were receiving. This was unnecessarily frustrating. Just put down the discounted price and savings for each item. I don't know if this was a limitation in their commercial system ? Or just a process to try and mystify what the discounts and savings actually were ?? I'm hoping all of the Insteon items I purchased continue to work and do so for a long time, since they are priced at a premium."
"I was in need of an outdoor Insteon on/off module and got the sale notification from Smarthome at just the right time. Received the correct product and received it quickly. More importantly, a couple of months ago I received a module that did not work. It took a bit for me to convince Smarthome customer support that the module was faulty but once I did they made the exchange easy and quick. I'll continue doing business with them."

I called and they were having system issues and later emailed me a tracking number. so hopefully I will get it before the new year. it will be like a Christmas gift for me. by the time it does arrive I will have completely forgotten about the item and will be excited to see what I get when it does arrive"
