"I have never had a worse experience ordering a product. I am never purchasing from Smartpress and will be telling everyone I know to steer clear as well. I submitted an order on 4-06-24 and paid $267.65 with a shipping fee of $43.14 for a total of $335.68. They give you the message that there "may be an additional dimensional shipping charge." 5-20, even 40 extra bucks makes some sort of sense, but then I get a message saying I will have to pay an additional $232.13 on shipping?!!?!?! It is absolutely obscene to charge that much for shipping and completely crooked for not including the actual # for the "additional" shipping charge until it is too late for the purchaser to buy it somewhere else where they won't scam you, so if the purchaser wants their event to go well they have to pay an astronomical price to this business. Screw that. It's a scam."

"I was trying to recreate an order from a company that's no longer in business. I provided Smartpress with the previous specifications along with several photos of the materials I was trying to create. Kristi confirmed numerous times through email and chat that it would be no problem whatsoever and they'd easily be able to recreate my perfect-bound book. It was a lot of money, but I was willing to spend it to get what I believed would be a good match for what I already had purchased. Unfortunately, it arrived, and the cover is not the same. Looking back at my notes, the original specs I provided Kristi with numerous times indicate I needed a laminated cover. My cover is not laminated. I reached out to Kristi, and she responded that I would have needed to receive a custom quote to match my previous order in that way! At no point in our email exchange of 11 messages and lengthy chat did she indicate I needed to do anything differently to get what I wanted. Instead, she repeatedly assured me everything was fine and my specs were correct. Given the actions of Kristi and Smartpress, I feel as though I've been swindled by a dishonest company that only wanted my money and doesn't care that they cheated a customer. Save yourself a lot of grief, time, and money and stay far away from Smartpress."
"We were pleasantly surprised while working toward getting a brochure order on its way with smartpress.com. We decided to give SP a shot since they had great pricing in comparison to other online printers we have tried.
We screwed up several elements within the brochure, but smartpress caught them AND told us about them. We appreciated it!
We ordered Feb. 12th and the order arrived Feb. 20th. The brochures shipped the 16th by UPS ground. I know all of this because their system generated emails updating me on everything every step of the way from placing order to it being shipped.
We will certainly be using smartpress.com for future print orders."

"After using multiple online printing companies, I have switched all of my press printing to Smartpress. The printing quality is comparable to others in the industry. Their cutting is above average. Their processing time is excellent.
While their shipping costs are higher than others, their processing time is fast so I have yet to need anything other than UPS Ground. Other companies will wait 1-2 weeks before printing your order to try and get you to pay more for "expedited processing". Smartpress prints in about 2 business days so you can have something ordered Monday and arrive Friday if you are within a 2 days ground shipping distance (which is all of the midwest). In the end, I have spent less on shipping and handling with Smart Press compared to other companies."

"Tried using smartpress.com for client event. Spoke to rep at Smartpress. She said when you are ready use the website. I put special notes in the instructions about the tight deadlines. I was assured we had more than enough time. I instantly got confirmation that order was received. Then got flood of emails. So much so they were easy to tune out. When the products did not arrive on scheduled date I called for tracking. They stated there was a problem and they did not print. I asked why they did not call and Kevin replied "I sent email". I stated I did not receive email from him, he said it comes from "noreply". I asked at what point did human interaction and customer service kick in. Knowing there were deadline parameters to meet, I am floored that they did not put any urgency in their processes. Client opted to continue order and have shipped for Saturday delivery even though her event was Friday night. Kevin checked to make sure that was acceptable. Called back to confirm and said "we are willing to split the Saturday upcharge with you.
Bottom line is this was the worst experience I have ever had with an online provider. No service, no urgency and took no responsibility. We ended up cancelling the order and will look for other printer. I would NEVER work with these people again."
