"Purchased brand new Cub cadet snow blower from them. Engine never ran properly from day one with new ethanol free gasoline.
Cub Cadet customer service never got back to as promised under 3 yr warranty. Repairs on my own required carburetor replacement. Dale, at Snowblowers Direct stepped in and reimbursed me . That's , 5 star in my book. "
"Ordered a brand new Ariens snowblower online. Arrived Friday, followed instructions/setup Saturday in order to get it up and running. Everything went fine until 2 mins of running when it refused to move forward. I could then put it into reverse but not go forward. Few moments later it would move forward - something definitely wrong with the unit. It didn’t make sense why it would work one minute and not the next.
Called their customer service (if you can call it customer service) and received the following “you have put gas in it and used it, so we cannot offer a refund”. They have completely protected themselves against anything post sale, they literally just don’t care. If it gets damaged while shipping, blame the shipping company. Not working after it’s started, well that’s the manufacturer. We cannot by law ship it back once it has gas in it. They are willing to sell the product and ship it, but that’s it, they do not stand by their product.
Long story short, I’ve spent $1500 on a new snow blower and my only option is to take it to a local ariens dealership and see what the issue is. They said they’ll refund the cost to get it to the dealership but that’s all. I’ve never had so many issues buying a product online before and if they continue this customer service it won’t be long until they are found out. We buy everything online but we will never use this company again. I highly recommend anyone interested looks elsewhere (tractor supply, etc). If I wanted headaches of getting a snow blower fixed, I’d have spent considerably less buying a used machine. Bottom line, they couldn’t give a crap about the end customer"

"I ordred a snowblower 11/29/2018. I was charged, given a email saying my order shipped. When I tried to look up the tracking number it kept saying it was in process. Finally, I contacted the company on 12/7 and was told they did not know what happened but they would take care of it and get another snow blower out right away.
So I waited and I waited and I waited. The company never did contact me. I contacted them ... again. Oh gosh that snow blower is a discontinued model. They can refund my money or I can order something else. Hello? Why didn't you contact me about this???
I have been in contact with them on 12/11, 12/12, and 12/13 and still I do not have my money refunded back. I'm extremely unhappy. If you are smart you will read my review and stay away!

"What an awful experience. I would not ever recommend them to anyone. I purchased a top of the line Honda snow blower and when it arrived, it would not start. I called their experts and other than being very rude would not help me. They never even walked me thru any troubleshooting. I was told to have it brought in for service at a local Honda dealer. They even said “If you buy a car and needs service you bring it in for service”. If I buy a brand new car I expect it to start. Snow Blowers Direct only wants your money and if something is wrong “oh well too bad”. According to Honda Rep and the shop, that I brought it to Snow Blowers Direct did not do the required prep work, which they would have realized the engine was blown. This whole process was a nightmare with them and the last of customer support."
"Ordering the snow blower was easy. The information they offered on the site was accurate and well detailed. It was AFTER you place your order that the issues begin.
After selecting lift-gate curbside services I was called several days later and told that the carrier they use will not deliver to my street because I live in a dead end.
I was told to make arrangements to meet the driver at some location or parking lot near my house to make is easier to deliver.
I explained that at no time during the checkout process was there any indication of not being in a location considered acceptable for curb side service.
After several phone calls to the carrier and snow blower direct I ended up driving 3 hours round trip to pick up the snow blower from the shipping terminal and waiting an additional hour to have someone get the snow blower for me to load into my truck.
Absolutely horrible and I will never buy through them again -

"Purchased an Ariens 24" Platinum EFI snowblower on a Friday evening, Snow Blowers Direct shipped it Monday morning and I had it on Thursday afternoon (from IL to NJ). The freight company (which was great) provided tracking info every step of the way. I did elect to pay the $50 lift gate fee, which was worth it in my opinion. The driver even hauled it from the street and brought it up my driveway into the garage.
I was a little nervous paying this kind of money online, but the unit arrived in perfect condition.
I don't understand how people are bashing this company for their unit not working. They are a re-seller not the manufacturer. If your unit has a problem why not just take it to a dealer for warranty repair? Or call the manufacturer for assistance.
Last, I emailed SBD customer service to update a phone number on my contact information and they got back to me in a hour."
"I haven't purchased any equipment from Snow Blowers Direct (Power Equipment Direct) but I asked them two very simple questions via email and their response clearly that they never actually read my question which was only a couple sentences long on each occasion. I won't deal with a company that has customer service that poor. "
"Do not trust this company. They shipped me a broken snow blower and did nothing to help me get it fixed. It still stands unused in my garage and I was unable to use the entire winter. Every local dealer that they referred me to for warranty repairs refused to touch a unit that did not come from their own store. "I placed an order for a snow blower with Snow Blowers Direct in December of 2013. Snow Blowers Direct provides an option to pay by check, and by doing so, they reduce the cost to the consumer due to the elimination of the credit card fees. I placed my order for a specific model supposedly available. My order was accepted and I immediately mailed Snow Blowers Direct my check. A few days later I received a phone call where I was told that while SBD was waiting for my check, the model I ordered was sold out and no longer available for the season! On top of this, SBD cashed my check anyway! I have received a check from SBD for the same amount I sent them via check. My issue with SBD is that they accepted my order and I believe should have reserved a snow blower for me awaiting the arrival of my check. The check option is a service they offer, it was not something I requested. If I knew previously that their policy was to continue to sell snow blowers regardless of the pending orders awaiting checks, I would have paid more money and paid by credit card. Paying a few dollars more would have certainly been preferable to losing out on getting a snow blower for the entire season! If SBD is going to offer the check option, they should also honor the orders by reserving the models ordered that are awaiting the check arrival."
"We purchased an Ariens 24" Platinum snowblowers from Snowblowers Direct for $1399. We started it up no problem. But, it does not go in reverse and it has only one speed: fast-forward. Never got to even use it in the snow and we called them up and they pawned us off on the manufacturer, Ariens, and they weren't much better. BEWARE of the all of the 'rave reviews' on SBD. SBD will NOT post a review if it has less than 3 stars. As we research this issue, we are finding more and more people having similar problem with their Ariens snowblower not going in reverse, but you would never know it from SBD's site because they won't post poor, but honest, reviews of products. They're very unethical in that respect. They don't stand by the products they sell and they don't care if their customers are unhappy. They take the money and they filter out reviews that are less than glowing and I think it's important that more and more people recognize their shady way of doing business. "
"Like the other review shows, they suck if there's a problem! They're great about taking your money...but look out if things go wrong. You all of a sudden aren't "their" customer any longer! They went out of their way not to resolve my problem. "Ordered an Ariens 30" snow blower and a few accessories. I wanted to change one of the accessories and they were very helpful on the phone. Wait time was less than 2 minutes. Shipped out the same day and arrived at the freight delivery company 2 days later. They got it to me in 2 days, which is pretty fast in my experience (any thing same week really). Good prices and had lots of options in stock, even with multiple big storms hitting the northeast that week. Everybody locally was sold out. Highly recommended!"
