Update: Received a full refund following a complaint to PayPal. Additional investigation shows that SoftGhost was incorporated in August 2005 by Oliver Dilan. His prior company was called ADOSystems. It seems he dissolved that company and replaced it with SoftGhost. A quick search will show that ADOSystems had similar issues with delivery and customer service."
"Placed an order on December 7th. Received UPS shipping notification December 13, and the merchandise arrived the next day. Upon inspection, discovered that the merchant sent me the wrong motherboard. The original one was priced at $117.00, and that what I was charged. The one I received was priced at $97.00. Made a call, and talked to Greg on December 16th. He told me they did not have the one I wanted in stock and offered to refund the difference or send me a SB Audigy 2 card. I chose the card. It was suppose to arrive December 19th or 20th.
As of today, January 7th, I have not received the card or the refund. Called Greg repeatedly and left messages. Received no answer.
Would not recommend this store to anybody. I understand that mistakes happen, but if they can’t satisfy their customers, they should get out of business.
Received receipt for a pending refund in the amount of $20.00 from PayPal on 1/11/06.
Was notified on 1/24/06 that the refund did not clear through their system.
Customer support gave me a likely tale about some error in the funding of their PayPal account (no money??). I was advised to file complaints with PayPal and my CC to expedite the refund (!!!!!!).
Sent another e-mail on 1/25/06, and received answer from Greg. He claims that he reissued the refund (I have not received anything from PayPal), and if that fails he will issue "a refund directly from our location". Whatever that means.
That was the last communication. They've stopped responding to my e-mails. At this point I will file a claim with my CC. "
"I originally ordered a CPU from another unknown retailer, but the item was out of stock. So I decided to place an order for the same item with SoftGhost. A day after placing the order I emailed SoftGhost to ensure that my item was in stock. After no response, I tried calling them and leaving them voice mail messages. I couldn't get a hold of a live person during their "normal business hours". Finally, with no warning, explanation or contact, they give me a full refund. I'll never do business with SoftGhost again."
"Supposed to take 2-3 business days to process and ship. Really took 7. Had to call at least a dozen times to get any kind of response from merchant telling me when order would ship. When I finally talked to merchant, he said he would ship it that day and it still took him 2 more days to get it out the door. Merchant said he would ship 2-day air to make up for slow processing and shipping, took 4 days to get shipment. When I finally got my order 13 days, a dozen and half phone calls and 5 emails later, part of it was incorrect. I spent another 3 days trying to get that fixed. When I finally got with the merchant a second time he said he would ship the replacement overnight and send an immediate email with the RMA so I could ship the incorrect product back. Still haven't gotten either one. After waiting another day, I left 2 voice mails with merchant demanding my money back, sent him 2 emails saying the same thing, and filled in the online RMA form. Haven't heard a word from him in a week and counting. Finally filed a charge dispute with my credit card company. I'll see if anything happens now. Merchant sends order slowly, is very difficult to get a hold of, responds to complaints by saying what you want to hear, and doesn't follow up on anything. Avoid using this merchant."
"I ordered a CPU on a quick search on pricewatch from softghost.com (this vendor has been removed from pricewatch since then, but not before I placed an order). I should've done my homework and read the reviews. Their low price was what drew me in. My original order was cancelled for no reason after 3 business days. I called and got a hold of Greg, he said that they had some problems and that I needed to resubmit my order and that it would get upgraded shipping so I could get it before christmas. So I did and it's been another week with no response or updates -- how hard is it to write a quick email reply stating the status or whether it's in stock? I've asked to cancel my order or ship it immediately with a tracking number. If I don't get a reply by the end of today (2 weeks since submitting my original order). I will be forced to cancel the transaction through my credit card company. I do not recommend this site at all. I think their customer service fits their name 'soft ghost' ironically, no real substance, very flaky, and bordering on fraud."
"While it hasn't been long since I ordered, I can see why there are so many negative comments about these people!! I too have had all emails ignored, and the jerks also won't answer the phone. Get this; they have the GALL to send out some auto-responder to emails they are sent that SAYS TO CALL THEM, then when you call them they have the GALL to put on a RECORDING, yes, that's all you get is a RECORDING that has the audacity to state to EMAIL them!! Now that is some anencephalic loop!! I MUST complete a computer for a customer and have it to TO THEM by 1-5, and I can't even find out if this damn order has been shipped, or if they even HAVE the #%$@# products in stock! They probably don't and there WILL be hell to pay if they are engaging in fraudulent advertising and I lose a $1600 sale!! Word of advice to buyers.....need I say?? Low prices are totally irrelevant if you never receive the products! Then, IF you do, you have to weigh the amount of stress one undergoes in the process!

I just checked and this company as of 12-20-05 has been REMOVED FROM Pricewatch.com! That should tell you A LOT since P'watch NEVER removes vendors!! They have vendors at their site that engage in all sorts of fraudulent advertising and are STILL THERE after dozens of negative reports! Not Softghost! Wow.
Update: It wasn't until threatening them, and filing a complaint did these jerks finally refund my $600+, with the excuse of they didn't have EITHER product in stock, and to this day they STILL have BOTH products listed at their scamming website AVAILABLE AND "IN STOCK"!!"

"I bought a hard drive on there website, I found them through Pricewatch.com. Mailed them a check they cashed the check, I have been calling and e-mailing them for a week now and get no response. AVOID AT ALL COST! The price of there products are great but you never get the product. Buy from companys that you trust, you can't trust Softghost.
Update: 12/7/2005
They e-mailed me back on 12/7/2005 and said the package was sent yesterday expidited. Haven't seen anything yet, they also sent me a tracking number for UPS Next day Air, but the tracking details show that the package hasn't went anywhere yet. Well, this was a Christmas present, maybe it will get here in time, even though I order it on 11/7/2005. Still Very Bad Customer Service.

I finally got the hard drive yesterday. It is great product. I actually was able to talk to Greg on the phone and when he sent it out is was lost by UPS. I'm glad that I was able to get the product even though I still would never order from this company again. There prices are unbeatable but I would rather pay extra knowing the customer service is there and a piece of mind that I will get my product."
"So far, I am unimpressed by the customer service at this company. I ordered a video card on November 3rd. Like others, I had my order status plod through various states before they claimed they shipped it. However, I was never sent a tracking number. No big deal, I said, as long as I get it. Well, it's been over a week since the status changed to "Shipped," and I have not yet received my item. I sent them an email on 15 November asking for the tracking info, so I can see what's going on. It is now the 18th, and I have yet to hear back from them on what is, in my opinion, an extremely short email for them to write. I called them as well this morning, and despite calling during their business hours (which are Eastern time, by the way--not mentioned on their web site), I got the generic recording that sounded like they weren't open. I left a message asking that the tracking info be sent to me, and still nothing.
Update: Monday, 21 November. I called early in the morning and left a message, saying if I didn't hear back from them by the end of the business day on Tuesday, I'd contact my credit card company and start the process of getting my money back. Not surprisingly, I did not hear anything.
We shall see if the credit card company is able to break through this company's lack of caring about its customers. If either I or my CC company don't hear anything by 30 November, I will formally give up on them and order from somewhere else.
What really saddens me is the fact that they do seem to read what's happening here, and respond to it. One would hope that the comments would really encourage them to improve their customer relations.
Edit (1 Dec): Nothing. I'm terminating this transaction. It's quite clear that this "company" is fraudulent, and has no intention of selling actual items to people. The one positive rating down below was probably spoofed.

"I am at this very moment banging my head on my keyboard for not coming here first to check Softghost out prior to making an impulse buy of an in-stock item. I placed my order 6 days ago and have received nothing except an order confirmation email immediately after my purchase. Sent 2 emails today, called twice, and left two voicemails kindly asking status. The web site reported it's status as "Pending Shipment" I would say so far I am pretty unimpressed with their service at this point to say the very least. Will post further status when it changes.
Day 9, status has changed to shipped, still no contact with them though.
Day 18, No communication, Billing information and tracking info sent to UPS a week agao but still no movement.
Day 32, Finally got an email response from a Greg who said he'd look into it about a week ago. Nothing...
Day 40: Opened a dispute with my CC company finally and what do you know, Product showed up. Just about that time it appears my email address was added to their spam filter so no further communication was possible.
Sorry I cannot recommend this vendor to anyone, yes they had a very competitive price but the 6 weeks of pain was not worth the 3 dollars I saved from ordering from a known reliable vendor. SG, you've got some serious customer service issues issues to address. "
"I ordered a WD4000KD. This company never delivers. They just play games by never replying emails and by never returning voice messages. They have a lame "phone services are being upgraded and are down" voicemail recording. They have the cheapest price for HDs and it's pure vaporware, status remained at "pending shipment" for nearly two weeks."

No communication. All I ever get from SoftGhost was automated emails. I have been calling and emailing this company for over a week regarding my order (06 Oct.), which I expected to be delivered by now. Payment has not yet been processed.
I believe this is a new company who don't have it together behind their good looking website. DO NOT order online from SoftGhost. I say call them, and talk to someone. If you can get an order through a human, you may get it processed and shipped. If not, go elsewhere.
The $5-25 you might save by buying their products will disappear in the cost of the headaches you'll endure by trading with SoftGhost.
I hope they get better; we need a good retailer in the Eastern US.

I notice that softghost has posted here. Who cares if they contacted me? I never actually spoke to anyone at their store. I called at least 12 times, never, not once spoke to anyone. I got one or two phone messages of evasive language, and weeks later they sent me my check back. (after I contacted the Better Business Bureau). Their automated emails got very very annoying, too.
