"I bought a 600TC Egyptian Cotton bedding set that basically came with everything (2x pillow covers, 2x shams, 1x sheets, 1x fitted sheet, 1x comforter, 1x comforter cover) for only $140 after coupon. While this seemed like an amazing deal at the time, I quickly came to the realization that the saying "You Get What You Pay For" fit their products perfectly. Like another review said, 600TC is somewhat of an exaggeration, while it might be true on some level, I will personally attest that I've had 500TC sheets that were much thicker and heavier than these. Maybe it's because the color I got was light (Ivory) but any colored pattern on your mattress or your pillows can easily be seen through the material they use. Also, be careful when you open the box with a sharp object, they did not cover the comforter at all in the outer box and I ended up cutting a little gash in the comforter when opening the box (easily fixed with some sewing though).

That being said though, you do get a lot of quantity for the price you pay... and the sheets, while not anywhere near the quality I expected, still are decent. We've had them for almost 2 months now and they've been through the wash/dryer several times already and they are holding up well, although I have a feeling these will get 2 or 3 years of use max. Also, the comforter itself is very warm, might even be too warm for the summer months. Seeing how these were half the price or less that what you might get at a sale at Macy's, I'm not going to complain much and just say the bedding set was an average buy. I just want to warn everyone not to expect too much from the crazy cheap prices!"

"My two sheet sets (one white, one sage green) plus one "a-la-carte" set of two pillowcases (mint green) arrived today from Royal Plaza of Clifton, NJ. They were bought online from an affilate/captive, softlinens.com. The actual product is branded "Royal Tradition" but I do not know if they are sold at any actual bricks-and-sticks shops or stores. This is all in accord with what I read at the About Us tab at softlinens dot com. The items are contained in the customary clear acrylic zippercase. The pillowcases are all called "Queen" sized. I do not know if this has become a standardized size beyond Standard/Queen, but the cases fit all my Standard/Queen pillows (but not my one "Jumbo").

The shopping/ordering process was easy and logical. The About Us tab addressed all the concerns I had as a first-time purchaser. As a precaution, I paid thru PayPal, as I always do in this type of situation. I do not remember if a one-time order requires establishing an account or not. I do know the order can't be tracked without the customer's establishing an accout.

The box with the entire order arrived today in fine shape via UPS, on time and tracked as promised. The linens are just as described on site: 300 Thread Count, 100 percent Egyptian cotton, sateen finish. There was no semantic folderol; the linens are made of Egyptian-grown (a type of long-staple) cotton and manufactured in Egypt (the zippercases even bear a made-in-Egype type of seal. The sateen weave appears honest and not overly "slick" with no starch (A good sign.) The various pieces seem all consistent in a medium- to lightweight weave. They are soft enough for a new product. Construction is precise, with no visible mars, rents, loose or unraveling threads, dropouts (such as mis-stitching) cosmetic flaws like miscolorization or off-color threads.

By today's standards, my shipment seems about medium on the labor-intensity aspect of production: a meticulous full-size interior hem and a french-type sleeve for the generous end hems. Stitching is very neat and consistent and happily free of the loose threadlets that seem to plauge cotton linens from the lowest-wage Asian countries.

[Note: If you are not ordering your linens on sale, you'll probably find a prompt at the order site offering you an extra two pillowcase-set for $15.50 extra. In that instance, they are supposed to match the sheets exactly.]

But I ordered a sale item, expected a color discrepancy and got it. Gotta sacrifice something for economy! The respective colors are, however, color fit just my definitions of both. The mint green extra pillow-cases are a creamy green (think of Fannie Mae Candy's Mint Melt-A-Ways), and the sheet set is a good neutral sage with no underlying cream or yellow and about a shade darker.

Overall I think it's a good deal, after a 15% discount for first-timers (try retailmenot or couponcabin), plus UPS S&H, the whole thing slid in at under $100. M*cy's sheets for Walmrart prices! Even when not on sale, I'd estimate M*cy's sheets at [bull's-eye big box] price.

Note: The promotional end of the domestic-linens industry has come to trade on thread count per inch (TC) as an indication of luxury. Maybe so, but luxury is an intangible compared to construction, durability and of course feel. TC should not be your only determinant of value or quality, any more than number of megapixels should be the sole determinate of a point-and-shoot digital camera, or watts-per-channel predetermine the choice of home theater. (And while I'm pontificating, "Egyptian" cotton doesn't always signify origin and manufacture any more than "Colombian" coffee must derive from a certain kind of bean, or be grown in Colombia.

So far I think I've gotten a pretty good deal and the service and the product are flawless. I don't expect them to wear or pill, especially since the cotton is such a good weave and there is minimal or no sizing on them. If they do wear or pill or unravel I will amend this review.

Considering that even pretty-good cotton sheet sets are $75 - plus at [bull's-eye big box] or [jcp...] I think I got a good deal, two sheet sets and two a-la-carte pillowcases, shipped, for under $100. Because of ship/handling fees, the order would have cost over $100 but I got a 15 percent discount at couponcabin.

As I said, if the sheets after use and launderings prove less than of good quality, I will adend this review.

I apologize for making this review so long but I rarely write product reviews of less than 750 words.

UPDATE: I've washed the light green sheets in warm water and they've held up fine. No pilling, fraying, decomposition. They held their color, too (I use color-catcher sheets).

I have some 600 thread sheets that I purchased locally, and let me tell you I can really tell the different between them.

Bottom line do not buy these sheets unless you just like really thin high dollar sheets.
