"I purchased 6 discus and 2 plecostomus from them in early April. One of the plecos died almost immediately, and I had some issues with the discus (poor coloration on 2, hunger strikes that took weeks to resolve). So after 3 months, I sent them an email describing my experience--asking for nothing other than that they give me a bit more consideration on selection of fish for a subsequent order. My first email to them was ignored; the second one got a response--a very rude and defensive one. After which, my account was deleted--standard practice from the owner, Keith Titus. "
"Their discus are carriers of the Blackdeath/ discus plague… I have raised discus for over 20 years and had 12 discus in tank for over 3 years with not a single issue including breeding pairs. I order their 10 pack to add to my school. All my discus have been slowly dying do to their discus being carriers of this. It can not be cured or treated and will carry it for life.when I contacted them just to inform them. Not asking for a refund or anything they were extremely rude and then deleted my account. So I could not access anything or leave a review on their page
"
"The reviews they show on their website are fake, because Somethingsphishy are the ones posting them. Customers can’t leave a review on their website. Their arrive alive guarantee is a joke! Their is no way to prove the fish are dead before you open the box. Once the box arrives at your home No More Guarantee! I found 3 dead fish and 3 more that were already floating on their sides and didn’t make the next 2 hours. The way they ship the fish guarantees the fish will die in transit and they don’t do refunds! They don’t answer their phone because they don’t want to hear how bad they are over the phone. "
"I do look at other reviews and yes I was one of the ones skeptical to order with all the bad reviews but I can honestly say that I have ordered fish online for years and NEVER have I ordered fish on a Tuesday and they come the VERY NEXT DAY!. Yes I will be back, all my discus were healthy with no issues. I am no relative nor am I getting paid for my review!"
"I have ordered discus fish from somethingsphishy.com on 6 different occasions over the past year. Every order was correct and the fish are great! I always make sure to have a quarantine tank for my new fish and have never had one arrive dead. Customer service has been quick to respond to my emails. I highly recommend this business if you're looking to enjoy discus fish without having to spend thousands of dollars!"
"I have sent in 5 orders (Discus, Rams, Plecos) and am totally pleased.
Yes, they can be brusque at times. I find it hard to believe they are making a profit selling quality fish at such low prices. They must be running their tails off, and I'm not surprised they can be a bit short.
There are many other online Discus vendors who will give you a more gentle and tender customer service, but you will pay big bucks.
My advice is buy with confidence! Just remember, you are dealing with an ornamental fish BUSINESS, not an emotional support resource."
"When I got the wrong fish I was trying to find the name of the discus and was trying to order the purple discus I never got so they deleted my acct and blocked me cause I was asking question and not wanting a free fish just wanted the name of mistake fish they sent had the royal purple again I my cart with other discus for another order. Like I said very rudely deleted me and blocked me you can't call cause they disconnected phone I spent alot of money with that order and shipping plus three neons I got did "
"Ordered 4 2" discus, 2 blue strain turned black within 48hrs, one died, the other is very sick and not likely to make it, the 2 red strain seem healthy, time will tell, but are so "peppered" that I can't discern their coloring. Don't believe they reviews on their website they obviously delete anything not 5 star"

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
This company has a terrible reputation but my husband had had neutral experiences with them in the past so we decided to order some fish from them. We ordered 10 fish and when they arrived they were in a container so small that we assumed that they had sent less fish than we paid for. When we opened the Styrofoam container all 10 fish were in there but they were in such small bags and packed so tightly that they were all dead but two. Initially we thought they were *all* dead because the two that were just barely alive were not moving. The return policy is such that the customer is asked to push a wooden toothpick through the dead fish, take a picture and send it to the company in order to get a refund. When my husband was taking them out of the bags to push the toothpick through them, we spotted the two that were just barely hanging on. Initially we sent an email to them very distraught and explaining that all of the fish were dead. A couple of hours later we sent a follow up email with the pictures of the dead fish explaining that two were actually alive. We got an email back accusing us of lying about all of the fish being dead, explaining that we were now banned from the website because of that lie and that a refund would be processed for the fish only, not the shipping. The shipping was about $70, mind you. Awful customer service. Banning us was cute since my husband and I had already decided we would never buy from them again. The way those fish were packed was nothing short of animal animal abuse. Our poor children had to watch us unpack dead fish after dead fish. We would be crazy to order from them ever again. All of the negative comments have clearly been deleted from his website and he bans people to keep them from leaving negative comments. Don't waste your money. Just go to a local fish store and do it the old-fashioned way. UPDATE: I'm now a pathological liar according to his last email. Some of the emails he sent me went to my junk mail and when I pointed that out to them I was berated and
Insulted more. These people are awful…

"My husband decided to get me 10 discus fish as a surprise well only 8 of the 10 served shipping and following their requests I sent an email to them with a toothpick throw they're the head for doa and nothing back from the shop. The other 8 are alive but are not healthy and all are peppered bad. I would say the grade of fish are F I wouldn't waste your time buying from them they don't know what they are doing. "
"i dint expect to much from looking at the other reviews. but i wanted to save money on my discus so i bought them.
im glad i did here we are 3 months later and all 10 are still alive and growing like crazy.
i did QT them for 6 weeks and throw all sorts of meds at them just to be safe. but now im mixing them in my main tank and all is well.
will order in the future.
thank you. "
"I bought 10 discus fish from them and upon arrival they were all swimming on their side indicating something was wrong with them. I tried to contact this company multiple times after examining the fish and was not able to get a hold of them. After 7 hours all the fish died. When the company finally reached out to me the following day, they told me they could not do anything because I had contacted them too late but I emailed them immediately after receiving the fish in the mail. I will not buy anything from this company again. "
"I have spent well over $2500.00 over the past 2 months with Keith and staff at www.somethingsphishy.com and every order was on time, with superior customer service from the staff and all fish arrived healthy and much larger than advertised. Keith's assorted 2 - 3 inch Discus fish for around $10.00 came ALL 3 inches or larger!! You can not find any online seller that provides that size and variety of Discus Fish for that price!.
I have recommended everyone in my Discus club to Somethingsphishy and I must say that if a friend of mine had not recommended somethingpshishy.com to me I might not have ever found them. Their is alot of seller's out there and I am swearing by Keith and Pat at somethingsphishy!!"
"First off, DO NOT BUY any fish from this place! I made the mistake of ordering before reading reviews and unfortunately I was not the exception. Sick fish, carelessly packed, and about the worst customer you could imagine.
I ordered five discus. I was a bit apprehensive having such a delicate fish shipped but reading the information on the web page made me feel a bit more comfortable. I thought having experience they would at least be packed well. I was wrong. They came in vastly undersized leaky bags with barely enough water to cover them. It was also a low temp of 30° overnight. They stated they would take extra precautions in cases of cold weather. They did not. There was one heat pack taped to the top of the cooler which was already room temp at best by the time I opened the box and what little water there was left in the bags was very cold. Following instructions I floated them for the prescribed time and began to release. Every one of the five fish were in deplorable condition. They were all sickly with white patches and suffering from fin rot. Seriously the five worst fish I’ve ever seen. How you can possibly sell someone fish in that condition is beyond me.
On to the customer service. I was very polite in my email sent less then an hour after receiving the fish. I simply described their condition and expressed my concern for their health and asked for advice on how or with what to treat them. Nearly 24 hours later he responded and asked for pictures. I sent the photos and since he saw that they were not in a bare bottom tank he refused to offer any help or advice. He sells me dying sick fish and without any remorse refuses to even acknowledge their condition. This man obviously cares nothing about his fish. And he wonders why people send him belligerent emails. Maybe he should ask himself why that is. "
"I have purchased fish from them before and was ok with the experience. Then I put in an order for 4 discus and a dozen cardinals and paid extra for Saturday delivery. Because the cardinals were not in stock immediately, they decided not to ship the 4 discus they had in stock at all and instead decided they'd wait. This was not the intention at all and when I wrote to them (because they don't offer a phone # to call) to let them know that I paid for the extra shipping so I would get them on that Saturday, they insisted that it was my fault for not understanding how their ordering worked. I acknowledged that the cardinals could be delivered at a later date, but that I wanted the 4 discus and was happy to have paid the extra shipping. Even though I was throwing them a bone, they continued to insist that the misunderstanding was 100% my fault. The fact that they had the 4 fish in stock I wanted and paid extra for didn't ship, was my problem and not there's. When I commented that they could have called me or worked with me in some way to sort out any questions about shipping, they continued to insist everything was my fault. When I said that their attitude was really putting me off doing business with them, they then not so subtly told me they'd be happy to see me go as a customer!
Bear in mind, I was happy to pay extra for shipping. I would have gladly spoke to them and worked with them, if they'd either make or accept phone calls. When they refused to do any of this they said they'd charge me 20% if I canceled the order because it was all my fault that there was a misunderstanding.
They are terrible. It's almost comical how bad their service is. I would recommend to anyone to go to their local, private owned pet shop and see what you can work out with them for special orders of fish like discus, hard-to-find tetras, etc.
These people are terrible."
