"Up until yesterday I had nothing against this company. However, after a year and a half of silence, they decided to spam me. I hate spam. I will never allow any company to send me anything unless I explicitly ask for it. Worst of all when I called them on it they copped an attitude with me. Just unsubscribe, as if I should do the spammer a favor. I'll do them one better, report them to my reporting service. I warn everyone they will spam you.

I ordered three items: Abit KT7A MOBO, ATI Radeon 7000, and a SB Live 5.1 Platinum no remote OEM.
I received an email after the order saying the MOBO and SB were back ordered. The site claimed 1-2 days ship for each of these items. After a week of nothing I called and they said they had the MOBO but the SB would be another week. I cancelled the SB and they immediately shiped out the ATI and the MOBO. When I got the MOBO it was defective. They said they were not going to get any more and they would issue me a refund on it after I shipped it back. Hopefully that will go off without hassle.
Bottom line is don't buy anything from them that is not immediately in stock. Otherwise, they were freindly and helpful, and the price on the only item I kept was good. I just didn't have a good experience this time."
"Retailer took my order for an item which the web site claimed "ships in 1-2 days". Several days after the order I get an email saying the item is back-ordered. This alone would be annoying, so while trying to find the item elsewhere, it seemed like there were very few retailers carrying the item. I suspected the item was discontinued and emailed Spartan a day or two later asking for an estimated delivery date. They replied that the item was discontinued. I wonder when they would have contacted me if I hadn't emailed about the delivery date. To their credit, their customer service line was easy to get through to, the rep was friendly, and easily deleted the order."

I called to check on the status of
my order, and was told the mobo
had been discontinued. I asked why

why their website still listed the
product, and why they waited for me
to contact them instead of visa versa.
I give them credit for cancelling the
order very easily, and they also updated
their website to remove the mobo
soon after I called. But I've learned
not to order anything from from them
that's not listed as "in stock".
Living locally, and having previously
had good experience with Spartan,
I had requested a will-call pickup.
They've also started charging for
will call orders which I found
annoying, it seems like just a way

"I have been working with Spartan Technologies for almost a month an a half almost constantly. I purchased a motherboard, RAM, a processor, and later on some more RAM. I've got nothing but good things to say about this company. The first board I recieved was immediately defective, but I recieved no problems from Spartan when I returned it. I recieved the replacement which worked for approximately 2 weeks before clunking out with a bad secondary EIDE. Again, Spartan delivered on their 'good service' promise and replaced this board with a smile. "Its been a while since I've ordered anything from these guys but now that I'm on reseller ratings to warn others about another reseller, I'll put in my good words about Spartan Tech.
I've ordered RAM from these guys many many times in the past. It was slightly above price for what I'd like, but the speed of shipping and quality of product and service were always well worth it. I return to this site everytime I need a memory order to be put through. These are good people."
"Ordered Processor from Spartantech, when I called the next day to make sure the order was being processed, it was on backorder, should be in in about a week. I found another site that had the processor in stock, for a few bucks more, so I placed an order there (PC Progress), and cancelled my order with Spartan. at 1:00am that night, I got an e-mail from spartan, saying that the part had been shipped that day. After a little research, I realized that Spartan and PC Progress are the same company, at least to some extent (Spartan had sent an e-mail regarding an order placed with PC Progress). They list the same address, but different phone numbers. Their websites differ only slightly from each other. Why then was Spartan out of my processor and PC Progress had it in I don't know. Anyway, I ended up with a working processor at a good price and lightning fast shipping (at a reasonable price). Same company or not, I have no problem with the transaction. "
