Cancels Order without notice, withholds membership benefits, refuses compensation

"I initially ordered an out of stock item from sportsman's guide in Dec '23 with the expectation that it would be available in a couple weeks as stated online at the time. I added the 3 month membership to my order to get a reduced price and used a $10 coupon that they offered for signing up via email. After the initial order I attempted to take advantage of the membership that was purchased however the membership did not show on my account and I was not able to take advantage of the member savings they offered. I attempted this in December and January with out luck but figured my membership was not processed yet since my item was backordered (apparently this was not correct). I received an email in January stating my backordered item was not yet available and received a new estimated shipping date. The email noted "If you'd like to keep your backordered item, no action is required." which I took literally to mean there was no action required (again, literal interpretations do apply at this company). Throughout this time I checked my order status several times and noted my item was still backordered. All appeared on track despite not being able to use the membership which I assumed would take effect when the item was in stock. Then in mid-February I received an email that my "membership" (which I was not previously able to use) was set to automatically renew in 30 days for $59.99. This led me to investigate to find that my order had been cancelled (without any communication) and my 3 month membership was now active and set to expire in a month. I called the company's service desk to figure out what had transpired. The service representative informed me that since I took no action in response to a prior email they simply cancelled my order. Further they were not able to reinstate my order and I had to effectively order the product again. When I noted the issues with the membership being available, the representative (after multiple supposed discussions with their supervisor) was not willing to extend the membership to make up for the prior lost months of use. After almost two hours of back and forth with the support representative, they offered a $10 coupon to their site which to date (10 days later) has not been received. I am hopeful that the product will eventually be in stock and delivered however I would never recommend to anyone that they purchase through Sportsman's Guide."

Bad Customer support

"Bought the Burris Scout Scope 2-7x39. Fedex attempted to deliver but there was a signature requirement. After the first attempt I contacted Sportsman Guide customer service who immediately told me they couldn't change it since it came from the Burris warehouse. After contacting Burris customer support they confirmed no, it had in fact came directly form Sportsman's guide. After reaching out to Sportsmans guide customer support again they confirmed it did come from them, but now they blamed fedex for labeling my residence as a business. At this point I have to wait for the item to be returned to them, and then re-order the same item. What a joke. They got a free $15 membership from me but I will not be returning to this store for any product. Save yourself the hassle and go to optics planet for your glass."

lifetime Warranty on Guide Gear is a JOKE!!!

"Bought a pair of Guide Gear Hunting Boots with lifetime warranty for $118. They started leaking and without my original receipt that came with the box I couldn't return them. I do have my e-mail receipt and order number that I sent to customer service.... but Rachel that "super customer service gal" said snooze you loose I guess because that's not good enough. Really??? what a fnn joke of customer service experience! Never again will I order from that rip off company!!!!!!!!"

Bad Fur Sherpa Hat Received - WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE

"I included photos (I purchased the olive green hat from Sportsman’s Guide) because I wanted possible customers to see how absurd the explanation was for why this vendor didn't pay for return shipping nor exchange this hat. As you can see, I already have 3 sherpa hats and I've had 2 others that aren't in the photos. 30 minutes after I received the hat, I opened and saw how 1) loose fur filled the plastic bag it came in and 2) that any time I touched fur on the hat, it came off. I then contacted this vendor to ask if an exchange can be made and I provided the reason and photos as I was informed on a service chat that the only way I could receive free return shipping was if I could show the product is defective. The email reply from Sportsman’s Guide was that "this looks like there may have been some bad tanning."... BAD TANNING. He also asked if I would like to keep the hat with a $10 returned to me. No, I want a better quality hat. Anyone looking at the photos can see the hat is shedding fur. That was the main reason for including the other hats for comparison. And I've had the black hat for over 2 years. So I sent the hat back, only to see they're charging me for the shipping, which they're taking from the refund. I hate to make the hat look bad in the review because overall, the hats are very good quality. Again, I've purchased 5. It's just this one didn't meet quality expectations and was followed by worse customer service. I will NEVER purchase or advise anyone to purchase anything from this company. They don't hold themselves accountable for the products they send to customers."

Deceptive returns

"Bought 2 pair of boots for $89.99 each. Returned one pair. Email from SG said I would be refunded $89.99 - $7.50 for shipping, which is 82.49. My refund was actually $62.49. Called to check on the $20 difference. They claimed I used a coupon, which I did not, then went on to say that I didn't account for the shipping, which makes no sense. Never again! Stay away!"

"Horrible company. Been trying to get a refund for a leaky toilet which came from a batch of leaky toilets. Been trying to get a refund for almost six months now. They keep making up excuses, now it's "PayPal's" fault. SMH"

Horrible customer service

"Ordered ammo last July (2020) deliver date kept getting pushed back. I had 4 friends who ordered same thing and received it but pain $325 vs it being $274 when I ordered it. Yesterday they cancelled my order. When I called and asked them about they fed me bull crap about ordered are filled as they are placed. I called today to cancel my membership because I won’t do business with companies like that. Expressed my concerns and the cs person could not have a care in the world about a several year customer being dissatisfied. Check the BBB before buying a membership. They’re crooked as they come. "

Great place to shop.

"Bought their membership about a year ago and been shopping from their website regularly and honestly I’ve never had a problem with any of my orders, well except once during the shortage on Ammo but that is understandable because there was a shortage everywhere even locally where I’m so I don’t understand all the fuss with people under testing this company! I’m a business owner my self and I don’t understand people rushing to give ratings and their bitchy complaints, do they actually feel they have the power to blow steam off because something was not in stock due to shortage of production? All these ratings below are pathetic! I never had an issue with this company and I’ve spent few thousand dollars buying anything from Firearmes to Ammo to outdoor clothes and gear and not one thing went wrong!"

Do NOT order!

"I ordered 2 outdoor rockers from Sportsmans Guide, which both were delivered damaged. I sent them back, stating that they were damaged. When I received my refund, they charged me for shipping! What a joke of a company!! Do not order from Sportsmans Guide, they like ripping off customers! "

"Ordered a 100 rounds back in August 2020. Only received 500 and email saying that the rest will be shipped in 3 months, even though it said that the 1000 rounds was "In Stock". Here it is almost a year later and I still haven't received the rest of my order as the latest date for shippment is now mid July. Very poor customer service."

False Promises on Items

"In July of 2020 I backordered 1000 rounds of .223 at 36 cents a round. They have continuously canceled my order multiple times on me and continue to push it back. Originally it was supposed to come in October, then December, then January and now April. They have the rounds listed on their website for 70 cents now. They have lied and continue to push my order back so they can take money from other people and not fulfill my order"

Terrible service from Paula in customer service, so I just cancelled my "Membership"

"SCAM ALERT They don't actually have anything in stock here. After patiently waiting 6 months for my Ammo, they cancelled my order, then blamed me?
Paula in customer service made no attempt to correct the order. In fact, she suggested I reorder when the product becomes available again. What? Why bother, So I can wait for another 6 for the product they will never send. This place is lame.

Don't ship orders and don't answer there phone

"Never shipped the bike rack. tried to call they don't answer there phones
E-mailed they said to call the number that they don't answer.
Emailed many times then they gave a number that I called and set up a 9:00 am call back next day but they never called back
I canceled every thing and will never order from them again
