got refund after dozens of complaints, and many days fighting this company.they are a scam

"Unresolved problem. Out $25+ shipping, because they shipped the wrong item. (after over a dozen emails)They wont refund my money. Will not do anymore business with sportmans guide. Plenty of competitors will offer better customer service, at a lower price. I only lost $25 + shipping to this unscrupulous company. Others have lost hundreds of dollars. Ponder that before you purchase. Don't walk, RUN away from this company, you will thank me later. Read other negative feedback before you shop sportsmans guide. They ripped me off, they will do the same to you! I guarantee it! Update: finally got refund after over 2 weeks and over dozen emails, and 7-8 phone calls. Employees aren't the problem, they have a job to do. Its the management. Like the old saying goes, a fish rots from the head down. Wont be doing business with them any time soon. Was going to go to the BBB, but spent enough time on this issue. Time move on........4 star BBB ratings are BS. Those are cases that they were forced to resolve, or lose business. What about the 100s of of cases that cant afford a lawyer? I got $24.99 back(not shipping) ,but that wasnt worth my time and aggravation to purse this mess that sportmans guide caused. I see this company going out of business in 5 years. I spent almost 3 weeks fighting this company for a refund. Is that what you want? Bought many items from sportsmans guide 15-20 yrs ago with no problems. Apperently when Gary Olen sold company it went downhill. In closing shop elsewhere, I spent days fighting this company for $25. It was their **** up, and they denied it every step of the way."

No problems

"There are several negative reviews here. Seems to me, they didn’t do their homework, or you just can’t make some people happy!
I’ve been buying from sportsman’s guide for nearly 30 years. I have never had a problem.
I’ve bought cheap tree stands to high end electronics and trolling motors. High end products are the same as Cabela’s or BPS sells.
Two thumbs up!

No Product Knowledge whatsoever!

"I ordered a TERROVA 80/US2/IP_BT trolling motor on Monday before I looked at the FAQ, (my bad). The first FAQ on their website is "does this trolling motor have built in Bluetooth?". The answer from their team was "no", of course I freaked out because in the description it said it was a 2017 model. All 2017 models and newer have Bluetooth built in, I did A LOT of research and studying before I ordered it so I was sure about that. So, I called their customer service and asked them if it did or didn't have Bluetooth built in. First the customer service rep. was reading the description that is on the website and he said it didn't say anywhere it had Bluetooth, he made me feel stupid for thinking it did. He put me on hold and talked to one of their product experts and when he came back on he said it did not have Bluetooth. I told him I would have to return it if that was the case. He said that was fine but his tone made me feel like I shouldn't since I didn't read the description well enough. Well.....it was delivered today and it DOES have Bluetooth built in. I worried for 3 days for nothing. I'm happy I don't have to return it but I'm disappointed in the product knowledge of their staff and the fact their customer service rep made me feel I was at fault. I E-mailed them yesterday and they haven't responded yet. I've been a club member since 2001, I will be calling them to cancel my membership."

Moldy decrepid stock

"Putchased three jackets. They were infested with mold and mildew. Took all three to dry cleaner (couldnt drive the car afterwards until airing out the car of the lingering stench of jackets). Deep dry cleaning only reduced the stench but still unwearable. Company has not responded to my complaint, simply ignores it. I will never deal with this place again. Filthy moldy contaminated stock. "

Excellent Service

"I've noticed that there are several negative reviews here. I have been shopping with The Sportsman's Guide for many years and I have never experienced any of the problems stated in other reviews. The products I have ordered were as advertised, and the the customer service has been very helpful. The shipping has been prompt for the most part, unless the product was a direct shipment from a vendor. I am very satisfied with The Sportsman's Guide and I will continue to do business with them. As far as reports of them possibly going out of business, I would address that as pure nonsense. I hope that helps clear the air. "

Horrible service

" I ordered two ar magazines After waiting for 12 days my order showed. Only one of the magazines fit The other is defective. Customer service is awful and rude and I’ll never recommend this store to anyone And I will be telling my gun club about service. "

Dishonest Review Practices/No attempt to Resolve Customer Issues

"They eliminated my review in which I stated one of the CPO fleece shirts had a sleeve sewn on backwards (even though I left a five-star rating since I got the shirt replaced). They eliminated my review on Hornady 300 BLK American Gunner 200 rounds in an ammo case because I stated that the rounds were packed loose in the case with plenty of room to rattle around during shipping (even though I gave this purchase four stars because it is decent ammo). They did not answer my email when I told them I was unhappy about the way the non-returnable 300 BLK ammo was packed and suggested the product description should state that it is bulk packed. To me, this company is acting like it's on the verge of bankruptcy. I am going to make every effort to shop elsewhere because I think they are a poor risk to do business with going forward. "

Sprotsman's Guide is a credible carrier for some really good equipment!

"I have been ordering from SG for a few years and have always had a great experience. Clothing, firearms, ammo, mil surplus and always have items on time and occasionally a day or two before. My experience with customer service has been great as well. When pondering over the purchase of the police turn-in Glock's the customer service gave some good information although I did not purchase specific firearm. I wonder where these people with the bad service comments live that maybe the service in their area is not so great? (Chicago?) just sayin'."

Never ending nightmare

"When I ordered 1000 rounds of 22 LR ammo on December 27th, it orginally stated on the site that it was currently in stock. The following day I got tracking information for my order that said my ammo was on back order. Wait a minute, it just told me it was in stock when I ordered it though... so I called customer service which was less then helpful, with the representative asking if I wanted to cancel the order which I didn't at the time due to the price point being so good. I ordered on December 27th then got the email saying it would be shipped the 15th of January, I checked again on the 15th to see if my order had shipped and it changed to February 4th, who in their right mind would wait over a month for an order!?!? . Absolute garbage company with garbage business practices! I cancelled my order and will never use Sportsman Guide again, nor will I recommend them to anyone."

RUN AWAY buy your items elswhere

"I placed an order and they shipped to an old address. I caught it and sent an email, then followed up with a call. They told me to call back as the item hadn't been shipped but it was too late to change??????? So I called back and sent Another email. They assured me the item would be re-routed. It was not. They then told me if I returned the item, they would ship it to the right address!!!!!! SERIOUSLY???? HOW CAN I RETURN IT?? They really ****"

Fraud..Don't give them your credit card number!

"Have purchased a few items in last 10 year's and was always disgusted by inferior quality.I always asked on every order if they kept my credit card number on file ,, they always said No!!!.. .Well, I just got a charge on my credit card for membership..PROBLEM IS , I didn't ask for that, don't want it, they made the fraudulent action of putting that membership on my card without my permission...gee, I guess if one of their Customer Service people needed an oil change , they would put that on my card as well...Then insult to injury..I get an email from them that says "Congratulations on your new membership " what? These audacious **** charged that membership to my card without even asking or calling, or emailing.. My credit card company told that is FRAUD!! AND MORE...I WILL NEBER EVER MAKE ANOTHER PIRCHASE FROM THESE IDIOT THIEVES!!"

"Purchased an ECW military sleeping bag which was clearly described as new (multiple locations). Received confirmation of order of 'new' sleeping bag. When order shipped it was updated to used. Sportsman's Guide was intentionally misleading, bait and switch. They ignore requests to make it good."

"Great customer service. Shipping was prompt. I ordered online and followed up the next day. Customer service agent thanked me for calling saying it cuts down on the shipping time do to the fact they don't have to double check for fraudulent orders. He said it be there within 5 days it was there in 4 days."
