"Placed an order on 10/23/14 with a stated lead time of 1-2 weeks. Paid for the expedited shipping which was grossly overcharged ($38.59 for an item that weighs less than 1 lb.). I did not receive the item until 11/25/14 (4.5 weeks later) after I had no use for it. I returned the item and was charged additional shipping and a 15% restocking fee.
After I received this information, another month later, I stated that the reason for the return was Stanley Supply's inability to meet the delivery time. This lead to a string of emails with the rudest customer service personnel I have ever dealt with (Susan - ****@****). Some actual quotes from our conversation: "No manufacturer is going to give us worst case lead times" "I would suggest when you are in dire need of something that you absolutely have to have by a drop dead date do not order unless you get a guarantee"
She seemed more inclined to hit me with a quip rather than show actual interest in getting the issue settled.
This company has trained it's personnel to believe that it is a luxury to supply orders in a specified time.
I will not use this company again and I purchase all types of tooling on a regular basis. First and last time customer experience."
"I ordered some Panduit Wire Duct from their webpage on a Monday Morning. I got an automated order confirmation. Monday Afternoon I got an Order Confirmation with a backorder date. Wednesday afternoon I got a call that despite the fact that their webpage priced the item at $8.42 each, they in fact were going to charge $70+ each.
There was no desire to remedy the situation. They said they would cancel my order. Meanwhile I've lost three work days and have to go place my order with another supplier."

Over seven dollars to ship something that weighs a few ounces, and is the size of a marble. And to compound the ripoff, shipping two items that still weigh a few ounces combined, the shipping doubles!
Now, overall, I've been satisfied with this site for ordering the odd things that are difficult to find elsewhere. I've been a customer for a number of years, though I buy very little through them, but enough is enough.
Their website pretty much sucks to search for anything, so unless you have the paper catalog, or a part number you're going to be frustrated.
A great many things they list are special order, and not in stock, and sometimes have minimum orders of ten or more.
I'm not going to say it's a bad site to shop at, because it has been very reliable at delivering what I ordered, but the problems listed above are definitely working against it.
Customer service is a joke, however."
"The most expensive shipping charge online I ever dealt with. I ordered one soldering station. It cost about $100.00 but ground shipping cost was $20.00. When I checked out, my total did not show this shipping cost. I called to talk to customer service, but they said they don't know the amount of shipping to charge until they weigh the product that I ordered. Buyer beware with this company. I will never buy from them again."
