"My experience with this company was honestly super smooth. I needed a nice Macbook for college and bought one from then and it came in perfect condition. The packaging was nice and supportive and the laptop works great! I've purchased a couple parts from them before to build a PC and overall the experience was super smooth."
"Ordered 6 sticks of RAM on 7 June, and package arrived on 13 June with no contents. The envelope was open with a receipt inside, but no adhesive on the flap, and no product. I tried to file a claim with Paypal and they denied the claim saying the package was scanned as delivered, so that proves I got what I ordered. I call nonsense on this logic as there was no evidence anything was even put inside the package. If they would have taped it closed to help secure the package, then there would have been evidence the package was torn open to remove the contents. I will never do business with this company and I suggest everyone else look elsewhere for their electronics. Good Luck."
"Open Box Purchase. Good price and the unit was spotless, completely brand new looking. Give it 4 stars instead of 5 because only had 4 months left on original Apple warranty. I do not think this will be a problem, but their website states units sold will have 6-10 month’s warranty remaining. "
"I purchased a Mac computer from them and it came completely destroyed in the box. I was out of town when it arrived, as soon as I got home and opened it it was broken. I reached out to customer service since it has been way before the 30 days that their policy says they accept returns and because it was damaged through the carrier they refused to refund or exchange it. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY. Save your money your product will come destroyed. "
"Honestly, I had my doubts and it seemed like a scam but to my surprise the company is legit. Amongst the negative reviews I personally had a very pleasant experience. I ordered a MacBook Pro and for an understandable reason it didn’t work out and I immediately got an email the next morning letting me know and I had very good communication with them all the way up until my money was fully refunded back to my account the next day. Definitely recommend!!"
"DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. They will scam you. They have no number to even reach them."
"Received 4Gb stick of DDr2 sodimm within 3 days of ordering. Installed in laptop and everything great. Memory I had ordered from another seller would not boot. I will order from Starmicro in the future. Very pleased with price and whole transaction."
"Looks Like I Have A New Friend. In June 2019, I purchased an Intel Xeon x5472 Processor. I needed a SLASA, but what I bought was an SLBBH. Two completely different Beasts. I re-ordered The Right CPU and Now I am getting 2 of the Right CPU's and I get to return the Wrong CPU. That My Friends, Is Professional Service.
Hey, Looks Like I'm Back To Follow Up On This Post....To All You Ney Sayers....I Installed Both CPU's In My Dell Precision Workstation T7400 and After Beefing It Up From 4 Gigs Of Ram To
20 Gigs Of Ram It Has Eliminated All LAG TIME. Makes For Excellent Gaming. All at a price under $50. Absolutely Unheard Of ! "
"Contacting attorney generals office, receipt clearly shows I paid for a boxed cpu, they sent a used cpu and charged over 428.00 to my card. Not going to let his go. "
"I ordered a "new" Dell OEM Western Digital Blue 500 GB hard drive because of the attractive price. The (undisclosed) 30-day warranty was very short, but OK, it's $26. Well, I found out why they're so cheap -- they do not stand behind their products. Maybe it truly was a "new" overstock drive, but out of the package it tested defective in two PCs using different SATA cables with WD's Lifeguard software. I tried to initiate a RMA replacement online, but their website's RMA page was offline, so I telephoned and was told they're "working on the RMA returns page, we know it's broken"...I was emailed an RMA number within a day. So, I repacked the drive, addressed the box, went to the post office and paid over $12 to mail the drive to California. Eight days after tracking said it was delivered, I finally emailed again, asking about the status of my RMA replacement, as I'd heard nothing -- I suppose they were hoping I would just go away. Then later that day, I received an email reply stating they were REFUNDING my initial purchase price plus shipping "in 2-3 days" -- I still haven't seen it. So I guess I'm out the $12+ I spent to mail a defective drive back 3000 miles and I won't be receiving a replacement drive, which is what I REQUESTED. I see I'm nowhere near alone in being treated lousy during defective merchandise returns and poorly described/classified products. And this was after I'd ordered a second drive from StarMicro to finish the repair while I waited for the replacement (and waited a WEEK for them to finally get around to shipping the 2nd drive). If you feel like rolling the dice with these jokers, go ahead."
"check out this review https://sites.google.com/site/myexperiencewithstarmicroinc/
i was about the buy from them and thank goodness i read this review. no wonder their prices are very competitive. however, since they are selling used items without declaring it and also they do not honor replacements on defective items that's very dishonorable. "
"I purchased a memory upgrade for my mac. Ordered from website and answered all the qualifying questions about if I knew what I was ordering. Checked the boxes confirmed order etc. Next day order on hold looking for me to confirm my choices. Really would have rather had my order ship. Nevertheless my order came in about a week. Seven out of eight memory cards were good one was not. I contacted support told them one was bad. They asked me to ship to them on my dime (I did) they would replace. I get supposed replacement look at packing slip tested good they say even exchange. I call BS got the same module back. 7 out of 8 good 1 bad. Eighth slot is good recognizes old 1G module just fine. Nope not blaming on me. Too bad you are trying to not honor a simple bad chip and f with me. Perhaps bad press is more valuable than simply replacing a bad module with a known good one. I do not have more time to mess with these egg heads I have to get back to running my business. 29Gig will have to do. "
"Always the cheapest prices. Great website for CPUs."
"I placed two orders so far with Star Mirco. The First order arrived from CA to FL in two days everything was correct and all 3 CPU's worked fine. The 2nd Order I had to wait 10 days for delivery because their vendor sent the wrong CPU. Once the order was shipped it reached me in two days. I emailed them and the responded politely right away and stayed in contact with me. I only wish they had reached out to me first when my item was back ordered"
"I've been ordering form StarMicro for the past few years, mostly CPUs, some relatively hard to find. I keep coming back because they seem to be reliable. My orders are correct, and I get them in reasonable time. The prices are fair, and the parts work. Of the vendors I've used, I feel I can trust them. The most recent order was taking a little longer than expected, and customer service answered my question tight away. Good price, quality merchandise, they have what I need, and responsive customer support. I like that. It seems so rare nowadays. "
