I was/am very happy with the attention I received from the sales rep (Jerry Stigliano) as I had a special situation (living overseas, buying and receiving in the US). Once the order was placed and payment received I was contacted right away re shipment, which actually went out ahead of schedule. I've had the machine for 3 weeks now with no issues, so regarding tech support I cannot offer a rating; however I am very happy with the purchase experience and would buy from this vendor again."

I had a horrible experience with the store.
First of all I contacted them at least twice thorugh their mails and they did not answer my concerns.
Then once I ordered mainly believing in the reviews on this page, they outright cancelled my order because my card is international. (I understand that they can not process them, but nowhere on the page does it say that it will not process international credit cards).
They did not even bother to send an email stating that the order was cancelled while I happily waited for the laptop.
Dont be fooled, there are better places that sell asus computers, and by far better customer services."

"This is my first tablet PC, Asus R1F. I had several sellers to chose from, the only well recognised ones were PC connection and Best Buy, but both had problems of delayed delivery(out of stock).
Star Tech was the only dealer who had the product in stock with a relatively competitive price. I went ahead with my order, i have received the tablet in almost a weeks time, which by all means is fast enough for me.
The support so far has been excellent. They have taken the pains to contact me several time not only though mail but also calling me to keep me updated about the proceedings.
Till date they have proven their worth.
I am glad to have done business with them.

"I purchased a W2v Asus ensemble laptop from them a year ago with an education discount, (10% iirc) which was nice that they acknowledged both student's and military personnel's needs. Their main representative, John Fierst, was courteous and responsive, I did not have many issues with the ordering aspect but did exchange several inquiry emails about the product itself and he responded promptly. Roughly a month in I did have a problem with my laptop LCD blanking out and acting strange when working in a program, loose keyboard and occasionally starting up with no sound drivers installed requiring a reboot to remedy. The sales rep initially referred me to the service tech for the keyboard issue that they were unable to solve (apparently inherent problem) then told me to RMA the laptop and their service tech, Tom Rodgers, emailed back saying they couldn't figure out the problem at first, and it was to be $90 to keep my personal data, which I declined. They later concluded it was a program I installed which was used to undervolt the CPU to keep the fan off and power usage down and consequently wiped out my HD with a fresh install charging me $90 for the simple task and on top of that the sound driver still refuses to load on occasion to this day. When the laptop came back the first start up was of some fatal error starting up with with strange pixelated screen (that continued several times, though more infrequently so) and running weird when it did so, at that point I didn't want to send it in again so I ignored it and have been using it since. I would really like to install the undervolting program to keep the heat and increasing fan noise down but am afraid they won't perform a second repair if I do so. Now I find out that the Matshita UJ-845S slot load drive has common power calibration issues and won't burn CD-R's.
Overall I'm still satisfied to an extent as the hardware isn't really theirs to blame and everything went smoothly purchase wise but I felt their service tech was a bit rude, though understandably so when it comes to someone who deals with customers problems frequently. Still, I feel they could improve on that aspect of the service since I don't think they even tested my laptop thoroughly before sending it back. I'd much rather have them keep it for a bit more than to have these problems down the road. Luckily I still have the 2 year warranty and plan to send it in soon when I won't be relying so heavily on my computer and back up my files. They even sent me coupons/coupon code for referral purchases for 10% off which I gave to a classmate who then purchased a similar laptop. I will most likely be updating this review after I send in my laptop in for the second time but for the time being I'd recommend and would do business with them again."

"The service is very fast and friendly. I personnally talked to John Fierst on my online order and he was definitely the best guy to talk to... (makes you wish that all the online stores had these kind of guys to do business with...) My Asus W2J is working perfectly and I am very pleased with the way I was treated as a customer. There was a change with the screen resolution (from Asus) and John e-mailed me and also left me a voice message about my pre-order and wanted to know if I wanted to cancel or go ahead with it (at a lower price). So, If you want to buy something from Star Tech, Go right ahead, they care about their customers. I would not hesitate 1 minute about ordering anything from them again... (in a few years when my W2J will become obsolete!)
