"This company employs fraudulent business practices, violating verbal contracts and purposely give customers the run around. They never returned a single call or email when they said they would and I am now stuck in a contract paying more than what I agreed to pay - their inability to return my calls shows they do not care about customer service whatsoever and I have a feeling the entire company employs these deceptive practices on a regular basis.

I signed up online for satellite service on Feb 12th 2007. The next day a rep from Sterling (Mercedes Calle) called me to confirm my order. I was told I would be paying $87/month for the service but after mailing in the current rebate I would be paying $67 a month for the first 10 months(a $20 rebate for the first 10 months). I specifically confirmed this pricing ($87 before rebates and $67 with rebates for the first 10 months) with Mercedes and she told me this was my pricing.

As I was never sent a breakdown of my monthly billing I consider this a verbal contract, and based on this pricing I signed up for an 18month commitment. When I get my first bill it turns out my monthly bill will be $107, exceeding what I was told by $20. I called Sterling and initially spoke to Mercedes who provided no help and failed to return any of my calls or emails. Eventually I asked to speak to a manager (Jeff).

I was told the manager would call me back - but he never did, I ended up calling them back. The manager said he would refer my case to a QA specialist (Sonya) who would review my conversation with Mercedes, as they record their conversations with customers.
I was told she would call the next day - she never called. I ended up calling her to find out she had not listened to the conversation. She told me she believed Mercedes quoted me the wrong price and that she would pull the recording and call me back.
Again she did not call me back. I call again the next day and Sonya agreed to call Dish network with me on the line to see what they could do (even though this issue is solely Sterling's fault). Dish agrees to deduct $5, and Sterling tell me they will give me a one time $20 rebate. I reluctantly agree and Sonya hangs up before I have a chance to discuss it further.
After thinking about it further I decide this is not satisfactory and call Sonya back this morning(030907) to see what else they can do, since if I cancel I will incur a large cancellation fee($240). Sonya says she will review the recording and call me back at 4pm - again no call and at this point it's no surprise. Liars and crooks stay away at all costs! Avoid like the plague!
