"Have had a terrible experience with Steve's blind and wallpaper. Trying to find a wallpaper that is actually in stock is your first test! After we finally chose one from the blue stripe category we ordered and it arrived only to find it's gray, silver, black and tan. We called about the fact that it was in the blue stripe category and got no satisfaction. They took no blame for the way they have it classified saying it was our monitor, but the computer only shows their categories and that's where they placed it. We were told WE would have to pay to ship it back, no return label would be provided and that WE would have to pay a restocking fee of 30%!!!! She also said we should have asked for a swatch. I have done business for years with American Blind and Wallpaper and have never had a problem, never needed a swatch and never had to make a return. In fact I just ordered from them to make up for the mistake and the paper arrived three days EARLIER than expected. Steve's is a cut rate sham!"
"I decided to purchase my blinds through Steve's Blinds and Wallpaper for the sole fact that they offered the lowest prices on custom sizes. Their price was nearly half the price of comparable custom blinds from Home Depot. I ordered just one set of Faux Wood blinds from Steve's Exclusive Collection.
I used their Live Chat feature before purchasing and they happily answered all of my questions. After the purchase however, I read some negative reviews after my blinds did not ship within 2-3 days. I was a little worried and contacted customer service on a Sunday and they replied in less than 24 hours. 2 days after that my blinds arrived before noon.
The blinds themselves are better than expected. For the price I didn't expect much, just needed some blinds for an odd sized bathroom window (35 1/4 inches square). They fit absolutely perfectly. It took me about 25 minutes to install and look great. the blinds themselves installed in roughly 15 minutes and I spent 10 figuring out how to get the decorative trim piece installed since it came with different clips than the instructions had. All the hardware was included.
Overall, Steve's Blinds offered great customer service and the best prices on high quality blinds. You have to read the fine print on the "One Day or It's Free" deal. That only applies to limited payment options and basic options on the blind. I paid with paypal and had the privacy option (both excluded from one day deal). However, the blinds still got here in less than 6 days including the weekend. I would definitely buy from them again.
Just to note, Steve's Blinds did not ask me to write this review. I don't write many reviews, but I felt such a negative rating was unjust since everything worked out perfectly for me. Just read the fine print and make sure you measure correctly. "
"We Love Steve’s blinds and Wallpaper. I have made at least 6 purchases from them in the past 5 years. We lived in Austin, Texas and purchase blinds from them on several occasions. The quality of their products is excellent! We always received them in time and they always fit perfectly. We just moved to Michigan and ordered 25 Levolor Cellular shades with the cordless feature. I had a lot of questions about measuring for these and both the people on their chat and on their telephones were incredibly helpful. They were very patient with me and answered all of my questions. We received all of our blinds and this time I took them up on having one of their installers do the installation. He was very friendly and installed all of the blinds within 2 hours. I like buying from Steve’s Blinds because I know if I ever have any issues I can always call Steve! Steve’s Blinds has earned a customer for life!"
"BUYER BEWARE! Read the negative reviews before you order! It takes forever to receive the order and it will probably be the wrong size. The site tells you they may deduct up to 0.5 inches in some random fine print. You might find that fine print IF you click the right button, maybe, and only after realizing they sent the wrong size. I measured the exact size of the blinds to be replaced, but the factory "deducted" too much, so these blinds are going into the garbage can. Customer no-service wants to charge me for new blinds that are the correct size. "

"I've never seen a retailer with such different reviews - nothing but 1's and 5's! Nonetheless they had a good price so I sent an order in for two Levolor natural wood blinds with a quoted shipping date 10 days later.
A couple of days before the shipping date I realized in horror that I had reversed the height and width measurements! Steve's tried to stop the order being made at the Levolor factory, but it was too late. They were very friendly and communicative though the process, including calling a few times a day to update us on their progress.
When they finally had tried everything and confirmed that it couldn't be stopped they offered to have another set made at what must have been below cost price (as well as sending the original set of blinds of course).
I couldn't be happier with Steve's. Their customer service turned what could have been a horrible problem into a great experience.

This was by far the most miserable online shopping experience I have ever had. I ordered two pairs of blinds last November. The first pair were cellular shades, and they arrived without issues, but they are terrible. The color is awful (even though I ordered/tried to order swatches), they are much too narrow for my inside mount (the window measurement were very careful), the installation instructions were unreadable, and the brackets to hold the blinds up do not work well and the one blind I hung has fallen several times. These blinds are meant to be room darkening and insulating, but the giant gaps at either edge make their function fairly useless. They are so bad that I never even hung the second blind. The second pair were fabric roman shades. First, I received confirmation that they were made, but at that time I was still working with customer service on the details of what I was ordering. I didn't understand why the blinds would have been sent without clarifying what I was ordering and paying for. That original problem occurred when I ordered my roman shade blinds off the menu of available options, paid the cost of the very high-priced upgrades, and then was told that they wouldn't be available in the variation I had chosen and paid for. The room they were going in had very specific requirements, and I had spent many, many, many hours researching blinds that were available that would work for these windows. These blinds were critical to finishing an unfinished room for the holidays last year. (Because they never came, the project remained undone.) At that point I had no idea if I was getting what I was attempting to order or not. From the notice I had received, it seemed that whatever had been sent, it wasn't going to be what I had ordered. Next, I was informed that the blinds had been delivered. They hadn't been, but the company insisted that they had been, and wouldn't acknowledge me when I told them that nothing had arrived. This process so far was taking a month or more. Most of my contacts to the company went with no response. For a while, I was understanding about the slow or nonexistent responses... it was the busy holiday season after all, but nothing with customer service ever improved as we moved through January and into February. FINALLY someone in customer service told me that my blinds had been sent to the wrong address. This made partial sense to me, since I had been told more than once that the delivery had been confirmed. Still, nobody seemed to have any idea of where the blinds were, and I was still being held responsible for them. Then, after repeated unsuccessful attempts to resolve this problem and months of stress and fighting over this purchase and the money already paid, I was finally told that these blinds had never even been made(!), so, I ask, how could they have been sent. The only good thing to say is that I eventually (after months) did get my money back. There is nothing to be done for the incredible investment of time, stress, anxiety, and partially ruined holiday season. As far as I can see, the company does not show any of their negative feedback, so I am doubting if the glowing reviews found on their website are genuine. "
"We recently decided to remodel our home that we have lived in for 15 years. We had no idea what to do with all of our windows. We wanted each room to have its own character. We call Steve’s Blinds and Wallpapers and scheduled a shop at home appointment. Sandi came out with samples and her tape measure. She is extremely knowledgeable about all different type of blinds as well as shutters and draperies. She must have spent 2 ½ hours going through each room with me – showing me samples – measuring, etc….We ended up purchasing plantation shutters, faux wood blinds and cellular shades. She also did a couple of cornices. The most amazing part is not only did she come out and provide all this information free of charge but Steve’s Blinds prices crushed Budget Blinds prices as well as we even got some prices from Home Depot – and Steve’s was still lower by about $750!! The installer that came out was extremely courteous, clean and proficient. We just love our new window treatments and I think the world of Steve’s Blinds and Sandi. "

We bought all of our wallpaper and blinds for the entire house over the past year and half. They have the greatest website - so many choices - but more importantly their prices are out of this world. We saved so much money. I even received a call from Steve himself asking me how we liked our blinds and wallpaper. Can you believe it? There really is a Steve! We have recommended them to all of our family and friends."
"Do not order online!! Make sure you call and speak to a representative and have them walk you through the measuring process. It is not clear. My blinds were 3 inches too short because they count the mounting valance as part of the measurement. Since I started my order online, they told me that I should have known this and should have read their website more carefully. They have a scripted response to this and it appeared obvious that this problem was something they were used to dealing with and were not willing to rectify. Additionally, I ordered the blinds in April and didn't install until August, so, I was outside of the 30 day warranty (of which I was not informed, in fact, I was informed that there was no warranty).
The mounts and the slats were okay. The fabric appears quite cheap. Frankly, for $2000, I expected better quality and better customer service. I'll sew a bunting on the bottom to cover the problem and it will look okay, but I'm not at all pleased with the high pressure sales (I would have gotten the same price had I ordered close to the install date vs. the "one time only" deal I got in April), and the mock concern for the issue that was made out to be entirely my fault.
Again, make sure you speak with someone and have them WALK YOU THROUGH the measurements."
