I had purchased an item I thought was defective by design and wanted to return it for a refund, which they do not allow. To make a long story short, we eventually got the equipment working as it should through the help of Summit Source. However, any buyer should make sure they are certain of their purchase. Summit Source is not like Amazon, where you can return anything you like. "I just received my order #92249, including 50' of "Monster" cable (CAMQ50). Pictured in black, I was disappointed to find that my order is white which will look pretty tacky on the side of my brown house, but I was most disappointed that I received some off-brand substitute - "Perfect Vision". The window I have to install is today, as winter is setting in, the weather deteriorating and I have no desire to risk my life on a snowy roof. I will install it and, unless it looks so awful that I can't abide it, I will not return it but I will likely not order from them again.
Since my first review, I received their response and confirmed that the cable I received was made by "Monster", though it is not indicated anywhere on the cable. They sent me pictures of the bulk package it came in. Apparently, they cut it to length and crimp "Perfect Vision" connectors onto it. My disappointment could have been averted with a more clearly worded description on the website. There is a warning about the color "may not be as shown" that I missed - my fault, but I am not pleased with the white color across my roof and down my siding and I still do not have a good feeling about the whole transaction."

"Though they charge a higher than normal shipping charge to boost their profit on smaller orders, they use a cheap method of delivey (USPSInnovations, which is a combination UPS and USPS service),and the item took 13 days to be finally delivered. USPS Priority, or UPS would have had it here in 2 or 3 days, max. On the other hand, to be fair, they did have good communication and responded to my concerns when it didn't show up and the item, when finally delivered, was as ordered."

"I give them a "B" grade. The prices were better than average. The selection was good, not great. The communication for oder status and delivery was fine. The checkout process was odd, though. At one step in the process you encounter a page for something like "insurance security bond". The wording was confusing, implying that it was abnormal not to have this bond, and by default you had to pay extra for it: almost equal to the cost of the goods I was ordering. After carefull reading of that page I had to un-check two boxes to opt out of that bond. In other web stores I've used, something like that has always been a separate line item on the order page so that it was very clear you were paying for something extra and never included by default. Summit Source is a low cost cost web retailer and no doubt they make their profit by trapping customers in this less-than-above-board security bond scheme. Such business procatices makes me less likely to buy form them in the future."
