"I have to say the few times the sauna worked, it was amazing. However, there were so many challenges in getting this to happen. First of all, my order was delayed 6 whole months! I placed my order on 05/14/2010 and did not receive the sauna until 11/19/2010. I was told the extraordinary delay was due to "backorder issues". Once the sauna was received, the technicians they dispatched couldn't assemble it properly. I was so frustrated I filed a complaint with their local Better Business Bureau. After sending out two other guys it was up an running. But there has been problems with it every two months.
I've only used it consistently for about 3 months, without a problem. Even today, my wiring is on a fritz. The sauna does not work. And they have sent me the wrong replacement part twice! I have the mPulse Aspire model.
I think it's very important to note before you order that SUNLIGHTEN DOES NOT HAVE A TRAINED TECHNICAL TEAM TO DISPATCH IN CASE OF MALFUNCTION. They will get on the phone and try to walk you through it. They will also send out local technicians that they find using a Google search. But from what I've witnessed, even professional electricans have a very difficult time figuring out their system.
I must say their customer service is responsive and does really try to help but, at the end of the day, their products are extremely faulty.
I would not recommend this product to anyone. It is too much hassle and completely falls short of expectations. I tell my friends to keep their money and join a gym. Or look into a different manufacturer. Honestly though, I think the home use sauna industry is a racket. There's not one company out there that has consistent favorable reviews. It's really unfortunate because when you have the in home convenience of a sauna it's awesome but, with the mPulse, that luxury will be very short-lived. Buyers, beware."
"I couldn't be more thankful for the fact that the company has replaced my sauna unit due to the fabric detaching from the dome. I want to express how truly appreciative I am for how you have handled this situation with my Sauna. It is so satisfying to see a company take responsibility for a defect in its product."
"a couple or so years ago I inquired about the Sunlight Sauna after checking out and reading about the other brands and models, the brand that stood out was the SunLight Sauna got the price on the one I wanted to buy for my Wife as a Christmas present in the near future for i did not have the cash on hand and did not want to finance, started saving for it and was able to come up with the cash for the 2011 Christmas.
I was so exited I called Sunlight Sauna (now Sunlighten) and spoke with Dave Suggs he was very informative and pleasant to deal with. He answered all the questions that I was concerned with he made me feel very good about my purchase. when the sauna was delivered to my home it had bean damaged I called Dave right away his voice mail took my call left him my name and problem within less than 5 minutes Dave was on the line with me, I agreed to take delivery and a promise from Dave that this would be taken care of, the people that delivered the sauna did a very poor job from the start they forced a panel in the sauna that made a cracking sound. I can go on and on about this bad experience with the company and people that delivered it and there setup I'm done with this bad memory so I'll stop with that here and now. Dave spoke with customer service called me back with all the information they called me back rapidly to take care of the problems they sent a carpenter took at the damage they agreed to have it fixed, I then spoke with Dave and customer service and informed them that I felt that fixing the damage was unsatisfactory to me that I had purchased a new undamaged sauna and that I didn't fell comfortable with this one at all even if it was fixed, that I had bean saving for this for quite sometime and was not very happy with there assessment, said that he would call me back that they were going to discuss it with the man in charge. I"m very happy to say that Sunlight Sauna Co. Dave the sales rep and Customer Service Manager have stood behind every word that this Company stands for Quality in people like Dave and his team at Customer Service and of course Sunlight Sauna to me the very best and number one Sauna Company in America. when all my family members and friend ask me about our Sauna we are more than proud to inform them that ours came from Sunlight Sauna Co. that Dave Suggs will see to it that they are well taken care off as we were during and after the purchase thank you Dave I do appreciate YOU."
"i orderd a suna on the recommedation of oprah and dr.oz on abc january 2010 finally got it october 2010 the sauna worked for maybe a week then we started having problems with the screen. screen was displayiig e4 trouble. saunas interior lights come one whenever they want and unabel to turn the sauna off when secion is over it will keep running. called sunlightin about our troubles we were sent a new moniter then e6 comes on new moniter sauna comes on with out turning it on, early mornings we wake up and sauna has turned on and been running all night, cant shut it off have to un plug. come home from work and sauna on, and cant shut it off have to un plug. called sunlightin they sent us second moniter and first new computer. i had to install not a sunlightin tch. it still is not working properly but now the outside lights do come on for the first time in 16 months by them selves???? called sunlightin again to ask them to send a tech. before it burns my house down. we are very disapointed with the sauna and customer service and the tech. they dont have. if your looking for a sauna dont by from sanlightin. wish we had our money back or a suna that works. we did get two wrap arounds and a candel..... sorry to say but im glad to see we are not the only ones have troubles with the sunlightin company.."
"I have the Mpulse. It has not worked properly from day one. The outside control has never worked. I keep getting an E5 error code. Now my LCD screen does not display dvds. I’ve called the company several times, and they have sent someone out to try and fix it. I knew more about the product than the first “tech”. The second tech seemed to know what he was doing, but I recieved an E5 that night. The company is trying to do right by me, but when you spend that kind of money, you don’t expect these problems."
"I ordered a sauna from Sunlighten after being solicited (based on an initial inquiry about their saunas) by a sales rep for approximately 2 weeks. The sales person assured me that Sunlighten manufactured the best saunas, offered a lifetime warranty plus their warehouse was near me in Gardena, Ca which would ensure a speedy delivery. I placed the order 6/13/11 with the promise of receiving the unit within a week. After 1 week I inquired about the status and was informed that the order had been delivered to another person in another state! The order was allegedly rerouted to arrive to me in California. My sauna was finally delivered 7/1/11, almost 3 weeks later. In additon, I paid extra for white glove service which includes someone assembling the sauna to Sunlighten specifications. Upon arrival, THE SAUNA DID NOT WORK...IT WOULDN'T EVEN TURN ON. The White Glove Delivery people said they did not know what to do when they tried and told me to call Sunlighten. I called Sunlighten and told them the unit did not work. They informed me to open up the top of the unit and try to reset the unit myself. I am very disappointed with Sunlighten. I feel the salesrep lied about everything to get the sale, did not respond to my calls or emails and after much frustration delivered a sauna that did not work. Further, I don't think it is my job as a consumer to troubleshoot an alleged "brand new unit". The customer service is horrible!
Fast forward..after many phone calls and a final threat to suit the company, they hired a local Electrician to troubleshoot the problem. They mailed him parts and 3 additional weeks later, the unit came on. This is a poorly made sauna. I was told they were top of the line. But each time I step into the sauna, the floorboard is so weak, it feels as if the floor is going to fall in. I am not a heavy woman at all, so its not me, its the shabby craftsmanship. Additionally, I have cracks in the exterior wood (hemlock) and screws need to be tightened in all the exterior lights, they were just hanging. The installers installed the magazine rack in such an awkward position, one cannot put anything in it.
I would not suggest Sunlighten to anyone. My experience was a nightmare and although it works now, I would not recommend the company. They lack customer service skills and delivering quality products.

"We bought the Sunlighten Sauna MPulse Jan 2011 It was promised for March. Came in May 2011. Has not worked properly for one day. Constant error messages, it shuts off constantly, we've had numerous phone calls attempting to connect the wires properly and they've sent technicians out 3 times. It is a garbage product and we are extrememly disappointed. I run a weightloss program and was very excited to use this with clients. it's been an expensive disaster. I would strongly recommend researching another sauna."
"We had challenges with our product as mentioned by other clients in online reviews. That said, the company leadership did everything within their power to satisfy our complaint, to include forgiving interest owed the bank when our product had yet to be delivered and I refused to pay. Now that everything is working properly, the sauna is beautiful, effective and detoxifying. I've lost five pounds (only five more to go) and was uplifted today when the company owner -=- Connie Zack -=- called me personally to tell me that she would look into the last minor detail left (broken door handle from shipment). She assured me that they've fixed their supplier issue and we discussed the trevails of operating a family business -- something we're just experiencing ourselves delving into the solar industry. This firm is truly doing the right thing, and therefore so will I and tell a more recent story of my experience. Best regards to all!"
"Here is my review of the Sunlighten mPulse sauna. I got the discover model made of basswood. My first impression is the sauna is really heavy. The sales person told me we could put it together ourselves. This was a total lie. The panels require at least 2 strong people to move them and the instructions for installation at terrible. The delivery guys told us there was no amount of money we could pay them to help move the sauna down some stairs. There are a ton of wires to connect and no chart showing where they are. This thing took two days to put together with 2 extremely strong men and an electrical engineer.
Visually, it looks like whoever built the unit put very little care into it. There is a cracked piece of wood that was used and some visible wood putty at another location. There are also lots of areas where dripping glue dried up on the wood. This is really disapointing for a $6000 sauna.
And does it work? No.
If you get a Sunlighten sauna that has problems, don't expect them to get fixed. Customer service is barely reachable and of little help when you do reach them. The lifetime warranty is useless as it doesn't state how long you will have to wait to have your problems resolved. Mine has electrical problems and structural problems. Not one issue has been properly addressed in months now. They also expect you to troubleshoot and fix the problems yourself instead of immediately sending out a technician.
I would rate Sunlighten an F for customer service, quality and honesty. If they fix my sauna, I can write an actual sauna review. I suspect this is why there aren't any mPulse sauna reviews available.

"I purchased a Sunlighten Sauna on Nov 10, 2010 and was told it would take 5 weeks for delivery. I contacted Sunlighten on Dec 8th and was told the sauna was in the US and would delivery within 10 to 12 days. On Dec 21st I received an automated message from their delivery company (Home Direct using Sunshine Delivery in WA state). They said they had the sauna in their warehouse 5 hours from me and I would have it delivered w/o 27th. No Sauna
I emailed Sunlighten Dec 30th asking where my sauna was with no response, called them Jan 5th and was told the sauna was in Kent, WA - asked for an email back after she spoke called to find out when I was getting delivery - never heard a thing. I finally found a number for the delivery service and called them. They knew nothing about my trying to find my sauna and went searching their warehouse and there it sat since Dec 20th. They put it on a truck to Spokane, WA and I finally received in on Jan 11, 2011.
I had several email exchanges with Sunlighten, they said they were sorry but had no complaints about their delivery company.
This was a problem with the delivery company and they have bad reviews about their service. My issue with Sunlighten is they should have a tracking system and allow their customers to follow delivery status.
With all that said, I have the sauna and it is working fine. I bought this on the recommendation of Dr. David Williams and would recommend this sauna to people but tell them they need to stay on top of there order because Sunlighten will not. I agreed with the reviewer who said to pay them partial payment and balance when delivered."
"I own a Sunlighten mPulse Believe, serial number P2C-0004. I received it in Dec 2010 in excellent condition, and I was able to assemble it by myself in about 6 hours over the course of 2 evenings. My wife helped me install the glass door, that truly is a 2-person job. It works well, and after some tweaks to get it running the way I want, I and my family enjoy using it. If you are looking to buy one of these, you will actually be getting the second generation, with improved touch screens, improved connectors, and a better 20amp control box. You should see the look in people's eyes when they go down in my basement home gym and they see this thing, it is truly the Lexus of infrared saunas. You can now buy with confidence, the company has overcome some really hideous issues it encountered last year with unreliable suppliers. Make sure to get the chromotherapy lights and biofeedback accessories, they really make a difference."
"I just sent an email to Sunlight Saunas outlining the problem I am having with my Signature III sauna not maintaining temperature and the result being a less than satisfactory sauna experience.
This is the 3rd Sunlight Sauna I have owned, and I did not have this problem with my previous two units.
After I sent my email I found this site and read a review by someone who has the same issue that I have.
I hope that Sunlight will respond more responsibly to me on this matter. I will post updates.
The saunas have a LIFETIME warranty on electrical and heaters (and cabinetry).
UPDATE: 5/18/2010
Sunlighten Saunas response to my problem was handled by Brooke Atkinson in the most professional and efficient manner with excellent results - my sauna now works perfectly. And I have the added bonus of being able to say that my customer service experience with Brooke is hands down the best I've had ever....and that's a bold statement coming fromm me. Brooke reached out to me for information and kept me informed of all of the steps she was taking - she had parts sent to me and then emailed me directions for installation. My schedule did not allow me to get to the installation so she offered to have an electrician come out to do it for me...and then Sunlighten paid that electrician directly. It could not have been a smoother more pleasant experience. I am 100% satisifed with every aspect of this experience.
yet another problem with the sauna: 6-19-2011
here we go again....the same exact problem that I had thought was resolved. It turns out that Sunlighten obviously knows there is a flaw that cannot be fixed since I was told that I have lifetime coverage - well I don't want to be mailed a new part every few months because there is no permanent fix. While they did offer to allow me to trade up to the mpulse after reading reviews and based on my experience I am not interested in any other products from Sunlighten."
"Heating problem with Sunlight Sauna.
I purchased my Sunlight Sauna in August 2009. Shortly after I noticed a 10 degree difference in the saunas temperature compared to other temperature gauges. After many discussions with the Sunlight a three attempts to fix the problem it still not working right. Here are my testing results:
To review:
1. The sauna temperature gauge reading starts out 3 - 10 degrees higher than three temperature gauges now used to test and compare against.
a. My household temperature gauge – value $11.00
b. IR FLEXCAM professional temperature camera. This is owned by the company I work for and something we use every day. Value $16,000.00
c. IR OEM 25245 Temperature gauge supplied by Sunlight Sauna – value $100 (approx)
2. As the sauna starts there is a 3 to 10 degree difference between what the sauna temperature gauge reads and the ones tested and compared against.
3. As the sauna continues to heat that differential will grow. At around 122F the difference will start to accelerate by and at a final temperature of 151F (per the sauna temperature reading) that temperature differential would have grown up to a 15 – 18 degrees difference.
4. You will also see a very course movement in the sauna temperature readings. It is not uncommon to see a 2 – 3 degree jump. Close to final temperature the sauna will show 146 degrees then jump to 151F and at that time the sauna heaters shut down. Please note: I have never seen the sauna temperature gauge ever read 147, 148 or 149 degrees, it always has jumped from 146 to 151 since day one.
Sunlight Sauna tech person was there to witness all of this and he concurred it was happening.
At one time Sunlight Sauna told me that the course movement in the sauna temperature gauge had been a problem due to the digital electronics used in your product. That is why you replaced the temperature display unit twice with and an analog relay but that has not remedied the problem. At this point this is the third temperature/time display panel you have replaced and the second relay and the problems remains as stated above which has been the same since I first used the sauna and my original complaint.
With the sauna temperature gauge grossly off I do not get the full benefit of use from your product because the sauna is prematurely turned off at around 133F – 135F per the temperature gauges it has been tested against. Therefore I am losing almost the complete upper temperature range of what should be the sauna heating capabilities.
At this point I lack confidence in their product because in my opinion it’s the quality of their electronics.
At this point Sunlight Saunas has chossen to totally ignore my emails and will not respond. You will find similar stories on this and other review sites.

"Sunlight Saunas is local to me, so they were my first choice since I knew I could get local assistance if needed and see the sauna in person before ordering.
I ordered on January 22nd and was told it would be 6 weeks for delivery. I checked on week 5 for a delivery update and was told it would be 8 to 9 weeks, plus an additional 17 to 20 shipping days.
To my pleasant surprise, the sauna did arrive within 7 weeks. To my disappointment, the sauna was cracked, scratched, dented and did not properly seal. Now six months later, we still do not have an operating sauna, Sunlight Saunas has sent replacements which did not fit and has sent a handyman to repair the sauna, which just unveiled even more problems.
The latest resolution from Sunlight Saunas was for us to upgrade (at our expense) to a more expensive sauna to correct their 6 month-long fiasco. When we refused to buy something else from them after paying plenty for a sauna that has been sitting here non-operational for months, they agreed to send another and send their handyman to assemble it (we have already assembled one!). We were told we needed to disassemble the old one, which we will not be doing. They really need to step up to fix this problem after 6 months and have offered to do very little and what they have offered to do has been at our prodding. They literally let a month pass by before even ordering the replacement parts for our sauna and only ordered because we reminded them.
So here we are, 6 months and $2000 later with no working sauna and limited communication from a company touting their excellent business practices. Buyer beware--look elsewhere!!
Update: Finally received a functioning, non-damaged sauna on July 28th (ordered on January 22nd). Sunlight Saunas sent a cedar unit, which is an upgrade from what we ordered. I still would not recommend this company as it took 6 months and too many phone calls to correct this situation. We were requested by Ian at Sunlight Saunas to update our review reflecting that we did finally receive the sauna. "
"After much research and talking with the knowledgable reps (ask for Ian Kuklenski!), I was given a GREAT deal on an Armana3 Far-Infrared Sauna. This sauna has literally changed my life. I have lupus and autoimmune vasculitis, and after using this sauna for 2 weeks, my pain is under control, my skin looks fabulous, and I feel great. This company is very professional (the only one that puts medical professional organizations' studies on the site for you to peruse), very courteous (Ian paid attention to each personal detail of our needs, and molded our order to reflect the best choice for us--and he was right on!), and I had my sauna in just 2 weeks. It went together quickly and easily (we were firing it up within 30 minutes of opening the crates), and it has been trouble free ever since. Our electric bill (even with daily use of warm up plus an hour of use) hasn't seen a difference. I highly recommend this company and their products!!!
(a note: I spent many weeks talking with various companies, and while they were "nice" in the phone, they didn't return my phone calls, were not able to answer specific medical questions, and were slow to send out any information. With Sunlight Saunas, they were always there to help, had more information than I knew what to do with --and the facts to back it up-- and were terrific even after the sale, calling me at home, sending cards, etc., to make sure I was satisfied.)"
