Caution is you are buying a laptop, electronics, expensive purchases, especially a MacBook

"Read the whole story, especially if you are buying a laptop!

My boyfriend has bought a few things online from Tanga and the experience seemed good enough. We then decided to buy laptops because of the tempting deals. If you are willing to risk a 50/50 chance on getting the right product when you buy a laptop, that's your choice - but never again on Tanga is my advice for sure. He got the right one, I didn't. Here's my story that I hope you take into serious consideration. The facts - I ordered my latop and got my tracking information on February 7, 2017. It was supposed to be delivered by FedEx on 2/11. There was a delivery exception on 2/11 and it wasn't. I called FedEx and they said they cannot hold the item at their office, nor could they reroute the item to my work address per sender's instructions. FedEx said only Tanga could do that. Tanga did not offer any help at all and only allowed me communicate via text with them - where they denied being able to help me. I rescheduled delivery for the 2nd time with FedEx by requesting a specific time for delivery (an extra $5 cost) and got the item. Only then did I find out Tanga sent the wrong item! I ordered a 256GB MacBook Air and was sent a 128GB - really?! I promptly contacted Tanga who's site says "If you ever have problems with your order, we'll do everything we can to make it right. As a small company, we aim to treat you like family. We know we’re in business because of you." (https://www.tanga.com/why-trust-tanga).

I replied to the autogenerated email when you place your order titled "From the Desk of the CEO: How Did We Do?" The email supposedly comes from the CEO Jeremy Young, but the reply I got said Jeremy was out of town. Even over a month later, he is still not available. That's sketchy to me. I went back and forth with their customer service agent Krista instead. You can expect response time of about a week on average. With a large purchase such as a laptop, you would think they understand your urgency in getting the issue resolved. I got a return label to ship the item back and shipped it back same day, so there was never a delay on my end. To this day 3/28/17, I do not have a replacement laptop from them, nor a refund of $519.99, nor a response to my last email on 3/15/17. That is why I am actually spending my time writing this review. Not even a refund yet!

I have been dealing with this for over a month at this point. If I were to calculate the hours of my time and Krista's time spent looking into this issue, it would far outweigh the extra $277 in cost of the only 256GB Macbook Tanga has available of the same year as the one I originally ordered. In a previous email and over the phone Krista had mentioned that she was sure she could get me a newer model (" I'm going to work with the vendor, but I'm sure we can get you a newer model.") - that was never presented as an actionable option however, and she mentioned that price was not a concern - again a contradictory response was received as they would not send the $277 more expensive laptop. I do not believe that as the Tanga website says, "If you ever have problems with your order, we'll do everything we can to make it right. " None of the ways we had discussed to "make it right" ever materialized. In Krista's last email, she herself recognized and clearly stated that the $30 rebate that was offered does not make up for the pain of this order. Once again, that contradicts Tanga's commitment to their customers.

Throughout the process, they did make this offer:
"We have a 1.7 gh MD223LL/A core i5 268 gb that we can send next week".
Anyone ever hear of a 268GB laptop? Yeah, me neither... I declined that because my original order was for "1 x Apple 11.6" MacBook Air MD711LL/A, 4GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Core i5 (Grade A)"

I had proposed these solutions:
"My ideal scenario in order of best outcome would be:
1. to be offered a newer model 11.6 MacBook Air with minimum 256GB, 4GB RAM, i5 (for no additional cost)
2. the original product I purchased with the 3 year product repair protection plan (for no additional cost)
3. full refund (though resulting in a lost customer)"

Last email I got was:
"Thanks for your patience. I'm so sorry, but due to the cost difference on the two items, I can't just do the exchange :( I hate to do this, but I think the only thing I can offer at this point is to refund you so you can decide what you'd like to purchase. If you do purchase the item you mentioned below, I can throw in a gift certificate for $30. I know it doesn't make up for the pain of this order, but I'd really love if you'd give us another try!"

I've replied requesting to at least get to speak with Jeremy after all of this and to get my refund. Still not answer as of my 3/15 email.

Beware people out there. This has been a bigger hassle than spending an extra $20 to get the same item on Amazon.

"i bought a mac book and warranty doesnt work and tanga will nor send me a return address or contact me back although i reached out to the seller and he was will to get me a refund but its has to go through tanga they wont contact me back this company **** and yes it was with in my 14 days . angry customer 200.00 wasted "
