"I was surprised to learn that one of the largest, if not the largest, tattoo manufacturing companies is located right here in Tucson. Last year, I met some of the employees of Tattoo Manufacturing at the Tucson Festival of Books where they were displaying some of their tattoos. I do astronomy outreach education through the Tucson Amateur Astronomy Association. After looking at the sun through our filtered telescopes, we wanted to give kids a tattoo of the sun. Just weeks before this year's book festival, it was decided we would design our own sun tattoo using an actual picture of the sun. I located the information I was given last year by Tattoo Manufacturing. I liked their small minimum orders. I was expecting Tattoo Manufacturing to be a small mom and pop kind of place. I looked up the website and was surprised by the size of Tattoo Manufacturing. Now I was hesitant about using them since I needed quick service, which is not always possible with large companies. The question was whether they would allow me to pick up the tattoos, or would I need to wait the few days while the order was in the mail, risking not having them in time for the festival. I got quick custom service. I picked up the tattoos on my lunch break just three days before the festival. The tattoos were a big hit with the kids and we'll be ordering more."
