"Went to thatcomputerstore.com @ 11629 Manchaca Rd. The store was clean and organized. Treated very well. Had an estimate form a big box store showing I needed almost $600. in repairs on my laptop. Mr. Davis was very helpfull. The items listed were not even bad. They were able to do the repair for $217.92. GREAT CHRISTIAN BUSINESS.
The tech James has over 20 years of experiance and did a GREAT job. No wonder they got the Best of Austin Award from the Austin Chronicle."
"On Dec 7, 2005, I bought a motherboard from thatcomputerstore.com for $192. After nearly 2 weeks, I contacted the Dave Davis (thatcomputerstore.com) asking about it. He responded that he didn't have it, but one of his suppliers would have it to him in a day or two, and then only another day or two, I would receive it.
After 3 weeks he finally sends me an email telling me he cannot find that particular motherboard, and could he send another in its place. I said "ONLY IF" the replacement board supports RDRAM and has RAID. The motherboard he sent did neither. He included a letter telling me that RDRAM is obsolete and he would sell me some other RAM at a discount. He also included a generic PCI RAID Controller. The motherboard he sent was a budget motherboard sold elsewhere for $67. That is nowhere close to the $192 I paid. The motherboard he sent was completely unusable for me.
I emailed him about it and on 12-30-05 he replied with a RMA number an absurd company policy telling me he could have sent me a pencil on whim replacing my original order and he doesn't do refunds. This creative policy begins, "All policies are strictly enforced." I have since mailed back the motherboard, with Delivery Confirmation, which shows he received it, and have emailed him asking about refunding my money and he refuses. At this point, it has been nearly 2 month since I paid Dave Davis (thatcomputerstore.com) $192 for an order I never received."
