Ordered a Level 3 Piano ABRSM book and that's exactly what I got (read a review where someone received the wrong item and it was a mess). Item was packaged well and was in perfect mint condition. Order arrived in 7 days (5 business days), which is faster than they promised (7-12 business days). Item was shipped from UK to California.

Probably would buy again even now knowing the low rating and risk. ABRSM charges $15 for shipping for the same item (more than the book itself)."

"I am a African American author who published my very first children’s book on Amazon through their KDP program which allows authors to self-publish their books. They have a option to allow distributors to sell copies of the book, in which I do not have the option checked off. My book is now being sold for a ridiculously high price by this company and without my permission. When I contacted them to resolve the issue because obviously a mistake was made and they were not informed by Amazon I do not allow distribution at this time, they were very rude. They stated they would not talk to me about anything, and to speak with my publisher. I am the publisher of my book. I told them I will take legal action if necessary and I mean it. It says a lot about the company’s morals and values, because if a author contacted me and told me that they do not want their book distributed by third party’s I would have respected their wishes, after all it is their book and their hard work and money they put into it. What makes things worse is this was my first book, and I feel it has just been taken away from me. The experience has been completely stolen away."

The deliver company (Aramex) is a complete sh*tshow - never answers, they simply sent my order back, it never left the UK. Now my order is cancelled and refunded according to bookdepository's website, but I was never refunded. And Aramex sent another e-mail to me a day ago to clarify my details - for an order they sent back a week ago. Bravo."

"I will urge anyone considering using the site to completely avoid it - you simply risk receiving a completely different book than the one you have ordered after which YOU have to pay the return of the book, which in most cases will be close to the price of the book itself.

I ordered a book on the 25th of November and received it last Friday, 13th of December. After seeing that the book is completely different from the one shown on the website and included in my order confirmation, I contacted Book Depository who finally agreed to reimburse me for the book if I send it back to them, but they refuse to pay for the shipment back, which makes the whole reimbursement pointless as that means that I will effectively not receive any money back. This is simply a matter of misleading customers.

One thing is sending a completely different item than the one ordered, but another is to subsequently refuse to properly reimburse the customer.

This is simply an appalling and miserable way of "driving a business".

"I ordered approx 13 books on 6 December and paid via PayPal. I then received a message from the Book Depository claiming there was an issue with my PayPal payment? They cancelled my order without even bothering to contact me before doing so. When I checked my bank and PayPal account the money has been paid to Book Depository and no refund has been received in either account. I have therefore paid for 13 books which I have not received and when I contacted customer services at Book Depository I was basically fobbed off. I have raised a complaint with PayPal about this company."

"The book did not come to the Billing Adress. Therefore, I had to email a worker in Book Depository stating I had not recieved the book.

I specifically asked for an indication of where the book was delivered to and who had signed for it when it had arrived at the wrong address. In which they replied I had to wait 5 to 10 weeks.

I tried to contact the company by phone number. Ino which I was told that the service did not take phone calls as they could only be contacted over email.

After paying a considerable amount for a book and to be treated like that. I won't be using this website again as I recieved no help. In which I was refused a refund. "

"I have ordered from them several times since 2010. I love being able to get the UK versions of books - not normally available in the US or Canada. My only problems over the years have been a damaged book and a missing book ( over 45 days ). Both times, the problems was solved with a fast and FULL REFUND. Majority of the complaints here really stem from the fact that your local Postal Service is slow. I live in Canada, and sometimes it will take a full month ( or longer ) to get a delivery from BookDepository. Please note, Book Rate International mail takes time, and often packages get put aside by CUSTOMS for inspection, which can add additional weeks to your delivery.
I'm sorry you little snowflakes - you ordered from an overseas company and book-rate mail is Slooow.
Calm down, your book will arrive. If waiting longer than 7-days is too much for you, I suggest you order elsewhere. I really only order from here when I am not in a hurry and I want that special UK/ EU edition of the book, for example. My only complaint is that I wish there was no option to pay extra for faster, courier shipping ( like UPS,DHL, etc).
Personally,I would not choose it, but some people might like it."
