"My experience with this seller can only be described as awesome. Often they have the lowest price of any website and that's often before adding postage for other websites which is free with Book Depository. I should add that prices I'm paying here are often 30-50% of retail prices in Australia. Delivery times are very fast, with many orders received around the one week mark from UK to Australia, though never more than about two weeks (orders from American sellers tend to take on average a week longer in the post). On arrival I've found that books are always well packaged and in good condition. It certainly helps that they send one book at a time, where as my larger orders with Amazon with a few damaged books in a flimsy large carton. With all this considered, the Book Depository remain my preferred source of books."

"I suspect that the negative reviews here are something to do with the major retailers launching a campaign in Australia in early January 2011, calling for a tax on internet shopping to protect their own interests.
The Book Depository was highlighted as one of the sites that the retail stores cannot compete against (whilst maintaining their heavy profit margins).

"Upon discovering the Book Depository earlier this year I have used them several times and will continue to do so. They are an excellent resource for hard to find and sepcialist books, one's that I can't get in my local bookshop ( For example, I'm a big manga fan, and the selection in my local bookstore is very poor). I live in Ireland and my books arive usually with in 4/5 days (a little longer if it's over weekend), which is about normal for delivery from England. Of course their shipping time won't be super fast, because they're offering FREE delivery, obviously that doesn't mean 1st Class !! I used to order from Amazon but thier delivery was €5 unless you spent over €30 which was a nuisance, and it wasn't any faster. On one delivery I realised my address was entered incorrectly, and would confuse the Post workers. I e-mailed TBD and they emailed back within an hour and had changed it to the right address. My books arived very well packaged and in perfect condition. I have had nothing but possitive to say about them, and have reccommended them to all my friends and family It seems to be the US and Canadian customers that have the complaints, I wonder is it even the same body thier dealing with??"

"I give 5 stars to the people at The Book Depository. After buying a book from them on Amazon, I realized I wouldn't receive the book in time before leaving on vacation; which was entirely my fault. I e-mailed them about a day later requesting to cancel the order with my explanation and they kindly agreed.
This was important to me because I needed to purchase the book locally to have it in time, but not pay twice.
