"Beware of online back-orders! :(
Item appears to be in stock online, they charge your credit card, then email you that it is back-ordered.
Their online FAQs say you are always given the chance to cancel back-ordered items, but I did not get this option, and when I emailed them two weeks later to ask for an order update, I got no reply whatsoever. A week later I have emailed them again ~ who knows if they are going to respond???
Based on the other reviews I see here, I might as well get started with the letter to the credit card company challenging this charge....
There is NO excuse for any online company to charge immediately for backordered items, unless the item is unique, very expensive, or personalized, NONE of which apply here."
"This has got to be the most hideously slow shipping I've experienced from an online company. Since placing my initial order, nothing listed as on backorder, I've purchased, returned and received replacements from 2 other online companies. There are 3 'ills' that I've encountered. First is that the communication sucks. I did not receive an email with my order confirmation ~ the only indication I made a purchase was the initial screen with my order number and the charge to my credit card. I guess the second follows with the first in that when I Called, 2 weeks after placing the order and still not having received anything, I was treated VERY poorly by the CS agent. And the third is that the shipping is Hideously slow. We're approaching a month from the initial order, Still no contact from the company about the order/ship date and no product. I received part of my order 17 days (13 business days) after the initial order, and I'm about to just call and cancel the rest. The ~$3 savings over other retailers isn't worth the Massive wait time. Heck, if I could have bought it locally, it would have been worth paying Double the price just so I could have Had and Used the products for the last month.
It should go without saying that I can't recommend this vendor, nor will I ever shop with them again. "
"This was by far the most frustrating online retail experience I've suffered through. I ordered a 2006 exacompta planner in August of 2006 from Daily Planner after I lost my original one. I paid for express shipping and it did arrive within 2 days. Unfortunately, they sent me the 2007 version even though the invoice and follow-up email confirmed I ordered the '2006' planner. They got the order wrong and when I emailed customer service about this, they told me to call them. When I called, a mumbling voice told me to call back the next day when someone else could handle my inquiry. When I called again, I received the same treatment and when I called for a third time the person admitted they were having "problems with their computers" and couldn't track my order. He asked me to call them back again in a few days.
I gave up. It's unfortunate that I lost out on the shipping charges and they were not able to be held accountable for their sloppiness, but it just wasn't worth my time to keep interacting with this group. It was a terrible experience, though - I encourage you to do business with a more well-run business if at all possible."
"I have a problem with this company that charged my card for items on backorder, and not getting a refund for cancellation. In the past (a few years ago) I have ordered an item from this company and the first experience was OK. However I placed a Christmas gift order for my friend. My debit card was immediately charged. I kept checking the web site for order status, but it always said (and still does) "Processing". I sent a two e-mail from their website to inquire the order status, but I never received a reply. Finally after the holiday I called the customer service to inquire the order status. The woman who answered said the both item on my order are on backorder. I asked her to cancel the order since it was supposed to be a Christmas gift. She said it was, and I also asked for an e-mail confirmation of cancellation. I never received it, and I never received a refund. A few days later I called again and the man who answered the phone said my order is canceled. However the website still says it is still "processing" and I still have not received refund. Both times I called they are not very nice, and tried to minimize the time on the phone with me. I would not do any business with this company again."
"Excellent service, quick shipping. The Daily Planner stocks hard-to-find high-quality planners, stationery, and more. I have placed multiple orders through TDP. While shipping takes a little while (they're on the east coast), the products always arrive promptly. Customer service is excellent; I called regarding the stock of several items and my questions were answered quickly and politely. Can't go wrong ordering from here!"
