"Ordered a Canon 28-135mm IS USM lens online. Received it the Next Day! Was far below the competitions price, so I obviously had my doubts. The lens was shipped super fast and in perfect working order.(included a full USA warranty) I cannot thank theimagingworld.com enough. Their products and service are exceptional! "The reasong you're reading this to get an idea of how a purchase transpired from The Imaging World.

Just like YOU, I too has surfed the Internet to save $ on an item. After talking to phone reps from those other sites, we all get "jaded" on how the process works. We get hooked on cheaper prices and expect the best price and new, not "re-manufactured, product.

Now comes TIW's phone rep, Joel, his calm voice put me at ease and he assured me his business is an authorized dealer for mfg product.

My phone-time went smoothly and quickly without being pushed into buying other items that might be higher priced just to make a profit.

Soon after my order was completed, I received an e-mail giving me a tracking # so I could follow my package and available for delivery to my door.

"What can I say? I've been a B&H customer for years but decided to go with The Imaging World on my Canon 5D MkII purchase because of B&H's unwillingness to match another authorized dealer's price (even though their policy stated they would!). Joel from The Imaging World has been nothing but a pleasure to do business with. He'll provide you with world-class personal attention and customer service. I received my order in a timely manner, 100% correct and as expected (US warranty, brand new unit with latest firmware, etc). Although the website isn't as fancy as some of the competition's smoke and mirrors, have no fear... you will be more than happy with any purchase from The Imaging World. "What can I say? Joel at The Imaging World (purchase was through eBay) sold me a great camera (Canon 5Dmk2), at the best price I could find anywhere-- with super fast shipping, and super fast communication. They're Canon Authorized, which made feel a LOT better about buying from a Brooklyn camera outlet with great prices (not all are very reputable). "I bought a Canon 5DII + 24-105mm L Lens Kit from The Imaging World on eBay. The camera's imaging sensor turned out to have a bad pixel and even though it was slightly beyond the 1 week return period by the time I noticed it, Joel took it back and exchanged it for another kit so I wouldn't have to wait weeks to go through Canon's warranty process. "I am a Canadian photographer traveling through the lower US States on a personal project. I destroyed my 5D2 in a swamp, something I rather not talk about. Anyway if you've ever tried to buy a camera via mail order while you travelling and living in a trailer in the sticks you'll know it ain't easy. "I am writing this review three days prior to taking delivery of this item just so that I don't forget anything that has happened. I will post an update (hopefully short if everything is as planned) once I receive the camera. I purchased a Canon EOS 7D with 18-135mm IS lens and extra LP-E6 battery from The Imaging World on eBay and paid through paypal on December 10, 2009.

Almost immediately I realized that I had completed the payment and left my mailing address as my home address rather than my business address (seeing as I'm not home to accept packages I generally want more valuable things sent to the business I work out where they will be signed for and accounted for and not sitting out in the rain). I sent an e-mail, I sent another payment for one penny with my business addressed attached, and I called (even though it was like 10PM) and left a message about the mistake. The next morning I decided I couldn't wait so I called in and spoke with Joel. He said that they printed shipping labels straight from paypal and that he couldn't change shipping addresses. His solution was to refund me the money and have me do the purchase again. I did this right away. I still think the package should have been shipped out the same day as this took a matter of a few minutes, but I do not hold it against them that there was a delay in the shipment from Friday until Monday. It is important to note that I called The Imaging World's phone number and my call was answered right away without me being put on hold, transferred, or ignored. Joel was polite, professional, and most of all, he came up with a good solution to fit my needs.

Over the weekend I noticed that I had gotten a tracking number that showed it was still being shipped to my home address. I called in and once again quickly got an answer from Joel about Fedex automatically sending me a notice based on the wrong shipping label being printed and that it was never sent out and that the new tracking number would be sent to me the next day when the new label was printed out. True to his word I got a new tracking number on Monday and the delivery is only one day later because of my change of address.

My only problem (so far) is not with Imaging World, but with paypal who is holding my refund from Joel (supposed to be 3-5 days) and then putting it onto paypal where they will once again hold it for up to five extra days before letting me get it back into my bank account. That means I have the cost of two cameras missing from my bank account. This is ABSOLUTELY not The Imaging World's fault, it's Paypal holding onto my money as long as possible to use it for investments while I go without during Christmas.

I will update this on Friday when the camera, lens, and extra battery are expected to arrive.

So far, the customer service has been great, and the price was the best I could find for the 18-135mm kit lens AND extra battery.


UPDATE: 12/18/09 - moments after delivery arrived... Everything looks good EXCEPT (and that is a big except) this package is supposed to contain an extra LP-E6 battery (these things are NOT cheap to buy alone which is specifically why I purchased this kit from The Imaging World). I have a call into Joel, but they have short hours on Friday, no hours on Saturday, and can't ship on Sunday. This means I will only have one battery for my entire Christmas vacation (assuming I ever get the second battery). I was REALLY hoping to post a purely positive review because I understand how hard it is for small shops (especially from Brooklyn) to prove themselves legitimate, but I'm missing a $75 item! I will update once again once I have a verified tracking number for the battery or when I'm packing up my camera to be returned!

UPDATE: 12-23-09

I called Joel at The Imaging World on Sunday and, as usual, he was calm, polite, and professional. He checked the order, apologized for the problem, and not only did he promise to have a battery shipped out the next day, he get from me the address of where I'd be in Michigan so that the battery would be waiting for me when I arrived! Great customer service as usual! He also explained to me why my original purchase was a day later (it is holiday season and my purchase was returned and restarted at the back of the processing line, which makes sense).

OVERALL - A GREAT experience with The Imaging World. All companies have a chance for human error, GOOD companies fix that error with professionalism and tact just like The Imaging World! Support companies like this!

Also, on a side note- I did check Canon's website and if you do a search for The Imaging World's zip code, their store shows up as Canon Authorized. This place is legit, professional, and has the best prices!

"I'll try to make a long story short.before i placed this order, I had been looking for a good price of either 300mm 2.8 or 200mm 2.0, I emailed Joel and asked if he can put that 200mm 2.0(in stock on his own site) on ebay so I can save some extra money because of that $200 bing cash back, and no response from him at all. so I ordered this glass through his own website, got his email soon saying that he doesn't have that glass in stock, and refunded all the money.I'm telling you Joel, because of the refunded money would took couple of days back to my account, I lost the Chance to buy the glass from another seller. I was mad, really mad.if you follow the price of those white big lenses of Canon you know the prices kept going up at that time because those reliable stores like B&H, Adorama,etc.I'm that kind of person who hats to pay extra money for same stuff. so when I saw theimagingwould was selling 300mm 2.8 still for $4100($500, 10.8% cheaper than B$H's),on ebay, I ordered it right away. thanks for all the previous feed backs really supported me did this order despite all the bad experiences with this store.after I placed this order, I was really nervous, I checked back again, I found that the one I bought was a relisted one, I emailed Joel right away, he told me this wasn't a relisted one, without any explain.than I got another email with tracking number, I opened the tracking web page found the weight of the package they are sending is only 5lb, but the lens itself will be weighted about 5.6lb!I was tired to ask Joel any more questions , just preparing to get foul again.when I got the package, the lens didn't come in with a bigger box, it came in with it's original box. the box looked old and dirty with a small whole on it. and it looked like it has been shipped to another place before(you can see old shipping label was cut off)
I quickly weighted the package and it was more than 12lb( good job Joel, I guess this is the reason you can offer free shipping?!) after I opened box, everything looked brand new. what makes me finally forgive Joel is the date code of this lens---UX09xx(Sept.2009)how nice is that!one more thing, I did some test shots with this lens, the results? sharp sharp sharp, nice color, nice bokeh.I never wrote any feed back like this before because of my so so English, I think I should do this for theimagingwould. it just because there are too less store like this, we should support this kind of stores if we want to pay less.this seller was not perfect based on my experience, but I would still give it a 5 stars and will order from it again.BTW, let me know when the price of 7D drops, Joel?

"I ordered the Canon 5D Mark II.
So at first I was a little skeptical, I found the Imaging World through Bing.com, they have a store in Brooklyn but it seemed to me a little questionable because I like to get all my stuff through B&H. But I called and placed my order over the phone and got exactly what I asked for. a BRAND new camera that was recently manufactured (came with the newest firmware released 2 months ago). Didn't have a fingerprint on the camera. It works perfect and I'm very happy I got it here. I'll be making a trip to the store to pick up an extra battery. I highly recommend this store!
