"When you are ordering, and paying by paypal, they put a pending hold on your funds BEFORE you have completed the transaction. I was buying a shirt for 24.99. They offered a discount that they emailed me, but discount was deceptive, as once you got it you had to spend at least 50.00. I was ordering just the shirt, expectating price , tax & a reasonable shipping. It took me to paypal, and actually placed a pending hold on my account for 24.99, but then showed additional "processing" fees, which were never mentioned until then, so I logged out of paypal instead of completing the purchase. Today I spent over 30 minutes on the phone to get them to remove my pending transaction. "

I placed an order with The Lighter side on 12/3. 4 days later I received a call from them. I was able to return the call 3 days later. When I spoke with their operator she stated that she didn't know why I was called - there were no notes in the system & my order had shipped already. "Great, plenty of time to get it by Christmas" I thought. A week later I called Customer service again looking for my shipment. The operator on that call couldn't find it. She said she'd checked FedEx, UPS & USPS and couldn't figure out where it was. She got her supervisor on the phone and she wasn't able to figure it out either. They both told me they'd research it & call me when they knew anything more. Wait, what ? That's a gift for my husband from my kids, what do you mean you have to research it ? Why can't you ship another one out now? I asked them. "Sorry, but we have to do the search first" was the answer I got. Another week goes by and I get NO call about it. Again I have to call The Lighter Side to find out status of an order I placed weeks ago ! This time the operator I get says my order had been cancelled because of an issue with my credit card. WHAT ?? If that was the case why weren't those notes put into my account so when I called 3 WEEKS AGO it could have been corrected? I believe The Lighter Side lost my order and is trying to get the blame off themselves with an excuse about my credit card. And if it was my credit card why didn't they get their job right & put notes in their system initially? Why couldn't the operator & supervisor see my CC was a problem? I call BS on The Lighter Side. They messed up & are trying to blame me on it.

shipping problem

"I placed an order on Tuesday. I wanted to get it before Sunday, so I pd $22.00 for "express shipping" which was supposed to deliver in 2-3 days. All I cared was that I got it by Saturday so I pd extra to make sure. The order didn't come and I tried to track it and couldn't even find the order by the # they had given the order. I finally got in touch with customer service on Saturday and was told the order would be delivered on Monday. She then said the order was filled on Wednesday and the service has 3 days to deliver but they don't deliver on Saturday/Sunday. So much for express delivery! I let her know how angry I was about paying that much money and still not get it on time. She was quite rude and again explained how the "express" service works..I told her I wanted to talk to her manager and she said she would have her call me on Monday to discuss a refund. Of course, no call from manager. At this point, I'm not wasting any more time since I'm sure nothing will be resolved.. I just won't order from this company again. "

"Ordered 12/5 website plastered with Christmas delivery guaranteed. My order # couldn't be accessed on line. After a couple very condescending responses from customer adept ice via email it was determined one of my two packages was mis directed (through no fault of mine or the other wouldn't be here). After several frantic attempts via email and FB to get them to make it right by expediting - which only netted a "call customer Svc" despite my
Message that I was in the hospital headed to a procedure on 12/23 - the next response I get is 12/30 telling me they will credit my card OR I CAN PAY for them to re-send the misdirected shipment. Don't ever trust this company with your hard earned dollars. They have no concept of customer service.

"I was required to return a damaged item SENT TO ME AS A GIFT for replacement. I was assured I would be reimbursed for the cost of the return postage which was substantial ($13.17). The merchant refunded the postage charges to the GIFT GIVER and claims they have no recourse to reimburse the GIFT RECIPIENTVWHO INCURRED THE RETURN POSTAGE COSTS. They expect the GIFTCRECIPIENT to contact the GIFT GIVER and get back the $13.17! Isn't that the way people show their gratitude for receiving a gift? ThevLightervSidevrepresentatives are uninformed, unempowered to provide customer satisfaction and totally unconcerned with their inability to do so. I will also contact the Better Business Bureau to make them aware of this affront."

"I had an extremely horrible experience with this website. I placed an order for 3 things for Christmas for my family that lives a few states away. I went ahead and also chose to have it gift wrapped and have a card made out to each one of them so they know whose gifts are whose. Well one of the gifts arrived about a week after I placed the order. Throughout the process I never received any tracking for any of my purchases and any time I entered the information on the websites tracking it errored out. So anyways, the package that arrived about a week out was written to my brother. Later on when I received the return sticker a few days later I discovered that the gift was actually my stepdad and not my brother. So I emailed about that mistake and asked them to make sure that the had the correct cards for the other two gifts. Well another week later my mother received the the other 2 gifts. Notice that it has been a little over 2 weeks since my original placement of the order which for a website based place it should be a lot fast than that in my opinion. A lot of the other things I purchased much later I received before my mother received the other portion of the order. Anyways, when she received the order the gifts were made out to my brother and my stepdad! My mother had already received my stepdads gift so now we are really confused and she'll probably have to ruin the surprise or they will have to open the wrong gifts. I am extremely displeased with this service and I will encourage anyone who asks not to purchase anything from this site."
