"So, I ordered from Paragon for the first time and mostly because I wasn't able to find what I was looking for anywhere else. I ordered a plug in clock night light. I had bought one years ago from Wal-mart but they no longer carried them. Found them several other places but always said "no longer in stock and we don't know if we will ever have it again." The clock I ordered is a bit larger than mine but the light is better so not unhappy with the purchase. Paragon did not post the tracking number or the shipping company but when I called to ask why I was nicely greeted by the representative who looked up the order and gave me both the name and tracking number I needed. He also looked up the tentative arrival date for me and that is the date the package arrived. I have to say their packing leaves a lot to be desired as they put these two small cardboard boxes containing my two little clock lights into a very large postal bag. Not a lot of protection but maybe Fedex treats their packages more kindly than USPS? Anyway, they arrived in fine condition and am, overall, happy with the pruchase. After placing my order then reading the terrible reviews of the company, products and service I nearly called them back to cancel the order. If I would have found any other place to order these clock lights I would have. Maybe I am lucky? So, will give them a good review for my experience to date."
"I placed an on-line order on 11/28. It's 12/15 today and expected to ship on 12/22.
I placed an International order also on 11/28, it had a delay in customs, and I still received before this Paragon order.
I understand growing pains, but hello, the holiday season comes EVERY year and perhaps this company needs to hire better or more competent help. I totally agree, waiting a month to receive an order is crazy. Was it really a scam to get me to pay more for shipping as this was shipped free with the large order I placed.
Are the owners of this company paying attention? Who cares about your products and prices if you can't get an employee off their **** and ship it?
I do hope it comes by Christmas, just like everyone else and YES, I too wish I did not order from them. It never, ever came to my mind that it would take A MONTH for a domestic order to ship!
Also ironic, the Bizrate company asked me to rate them, I couldn't, as the order has not even left the warehouse yet! Ugh, get it together Paragon.. or don't bother, won't be reordering and will hurl those catalogs in the trash!
Maybe hire more competent people and less mailing of pretty color catalogs? "
"When I placed my order, I was told I'd get it before Thanksgiving. Now they're saying I'll get it by Dec 22, which leaves no time to ship presents. They certainly lost my business. I just cancelled my order."
"I wish I could rate them as 0 stars. This is the first time I have ordered from this company and will be the last. I ordered items on 11/12/16. Still have not received them. When I check the status of my order it has gone from 11/23 - 25/16 to almost every 2 days more delays to the current 12/15/16. The site says Due to overwhelming popularity and response to our current mailings - in combination with a recent warehouse expansion - we are experiencing shipping delays which may take up to 14 business days for delivery. I called them today and spoke with a Mike with an accent. I advised I had been waiting for my order and that one of the items need to be mailed for Christmas. I asked if there will be any more delays - he said no. It will go out on the 12/12 and arrive by 12/14/16. I again asked for verification - he said the same thing. I checked the status tonight - it is now by 12/15/16. I am ready to call tomorrow and cancel my order. Hopefully, I will receive my refund. I will NEVER order from them again. I would advise the same for anyone else."
"Do not order from this company! I placed my order and watched the status online for weeks while the ship dates kept getting further and further away. Instead of contacting their customers they just let things go on and didn't ship anything. I called multiple times and got different stories and once was even told everything had shipped but it had not. After 6 weeks, they cancelled my order for no reason (they couldn't figure out what happened) and most of what I ordered was unavailable. I received an email a week after talking to them about the situation letting me know "oops your order was cancelled" and told me to go online to reorder. Absolutely not and save yourself the trouble and stay far far away!!!!!"
"This one is simple -- these are scam artists.
Criminal enterprise.
Please somebody shut this site down.
Until then though ---- AVOID"
"I ordered a bed quilt on the 7th of October. It has yet to arrive. I get occasional e mails when it is supposed to be here, 10/27 - 10/31, then 11/03-11/07. When i called, they said they were changing warehouse locations, and i should expect in in 3 more weeks, HOWEVER, they gave me free shipping .... Wow.... Free 2 month shipping. Definitely wont get Christmas gift here ..... try LTD... Oriental trading , or the best .... AMAZON.
Very disappointing! "
"Wish I had read the review below RE: The Paragon not keeping their inventory updated when you order. Here is my story... web site indicated that if your order is over $99 it is free shipping. There was also a promo code for $10 off orders of $40 or more that automatically loaded because of reaching the website via an email link. So, I make my selections. All items are listed as in stock. I double and triple check that the order is over $99 even with the $10 discount, double and triple check that the $10 discount has been taken and there is no shipping charge applied and click the place order button. The next morning I receive an email that one item is out of stock, no longer available, and removed from my order. Ironically, this is the most expensive item from the order. So, I contact customer service to double check whether I am now being charged for shipping since the removal of this item will now take the invoice total below $99. Sure enough, I'm now being charged a huge shipping fee. So, I explain that the original order was over $99, that the website should not have let me order items that are no longer available and that I would not have placed the order in the first place if I was not going to receive free shipping. I'm assuming their customer service is outsourced to India, which is neither here or there except that the two people with whom I spoke clearly did not have a familiarity with the Paragon or their shipping offer (...which appears to be a consistent offer, not a promotion). They insisted that I could not have the shipping discount and the promotional discount at the same time and refused to hear what I was saying about them being two separate discounts and that the original order reflected both discounts. After going around and around, the person offered to apply the shipping discount rather than the $10 discount but insisted he could not do both. At that point it was feeling very much like a con.... besides items being reflected in stock and now not being available which kicked out a shipping charge, an email confirmation of the order had not been sent originally, and the email stating that the items had been taken off the order had no follow up contact information. So, I insisted that they cancel the order (...I'd actually made this request earlier in the conversation, but it was ignored). Reportedly, the order was cancelled. I will wait to see what actually happens. The bottom line is that I would not order from this company again. "
"I had a great experience I received the item a week later good quality excellent price thank you I will order again"
"I will NEVER order from The Paragon or their affiliated company called Bits & Pieces EVER AGAIN!! They both follow the same terrible business practices. Both of these companies fail to inform the customer about back ordered items and fail to follow up with orders that are not shipped in a timely fashion. I ordered originally from Bits & Pieces last year for Christmas presents, I ordered three different items in November to allow plenty of time for shipping. I ordered online and waited, and waited, and waited. I assumed that they would be delivered possibly in a week or two, the reason for thinking this was because it isn’t listed online when your order will be shipped, it doesn’t say that it will be there within 7-10 days, it just says that you can get standard or express delivery. When you click on the shipping information link, it takes you to a blank page that does not have any information on it. I was charged the full amount to my credit card and there wasn’t so much as an email to tell me that certain things weren’t in stock. First of all, if things are not in stock or are backordered, it should tell you that before you order it, and if for some reason they don’t have someone smart enough running their business to have that up to date, they should email customers as soon as they realize that they don’t have something that has been ordered. Needless to say I called the company after waiting about a month. I called and was able to get a person on the phone, it sounded like an older man who had never had any customer service experience. He sounded confused and told me that things were backordered and that was why I didn’t get them yet. I asked why I had been charged for things that were not available and he said he didn’t know. I asked if the items would be delivered by Christmas Eve and he said that yes, all three things that I ordered would in fact be here by then. Christmas Eve came and only one thing (of the three) arrived. I called the customer service number back after Christmas and it sounded like I was talking to the same man. I said that I was told that the things would be here and they weren’t and told him how it was bad business practice and to refund my money, he did and I thought I was done with them. So recently I was trying to find another company that sold one of the items that had never arrived. I found it at The Paragon (http://www.theparagon.com/) and didn’t realize that they are practically one in the same. (I look on their sight now and it is clear as day at the bottom of the home page, Bits & Pieces is listed as a partner site, which if I would have seen that to begin with I wouldn’t have even thought of ordering.) I ordered the thing from them on February 2, 2009, it is March 3, 2009 and this is what has happened so far... I waited and waited like I did before because there is no rush. The transaction was pending on my account finally on February 27th but has since been removed. I finally called them this evening to ask about the order. The woman on the other end (between coughing and hacking in my ear every 2 seconds, with no excuse me or any kind of customer service tact) told me that it was a very popular item and that it had been backordered. I asked why I had not been informed of the backorder and I asked where the package was now and why the transaction was pending and no longer listed. She told me that it was in Maumee, OH now and she told me that the account was charged for the item, which was the only information she was able to give me. I will keep waiting... I have not been charged though, and if they don’t charge me that would be a nice going away present because I will never deal with either company again."
