"I purchased a fermenting crock from the sausage maker catalog for $170. Within one year the porcelain finish had cracked and was no longer useful. I contacted the sausage maker and was told they were sorry and to take it to a ceramic shop and get it reglazed. Really! I found a local ceramic maker, went to inquire about reglazing, and found out that was impossible. Not only did the sausage maker not stand behind the wares they sell, but they also wasted my time along with my money. Be wary about doing business there."

"Ordered a pkg of #1 cure for 5.99. Shipping charge was 6.99 for not even a 1 lb. pkg. I was okay with that, until they utilized mail innovations that took 10 days to get from Buffalo, NY to Cleveland, OH. When most companies that use this ridiculously slow mail service, they usually give it as FREE shipping. In this case, I paid more for 10 day mail service than the product cost. This,in my opinion, is a ripoff."
