"Buyer Beware. The tube store offers a free shipping option that just says "post" 1-3 weeks. Turns out that means "air parcel post" and it can take more than 6 weeks for two little tubes to arrive. I'm going on week 7 and still have not received my order. The tube store says they can't help me; it's my fault because I chose the free shipping option.
I paid for the tubes and never received them. I won't make that mistake again.
UPDATE: A different customer service rep contacted me after I submitted the review. He said the tubes went to the wrong address and would send another set. They came pretty quickly, so now I have the tubes I ordered. I guess just don't use the free shipping option; if your order gets lost it can't be traced."
"I'm surprised to see the negative reviews here, but maybe I've just been lucky. I have ordered numerous times over the last decade, and have never had problems with shipping times or incorrect tubes. Of course, I've never had a defective tube from them to complain about either, so knock on wood. Both Sandra and Haydn have spent much time on the phone with me and replied to many emails about tube recommendations or descriptions. I've only spoken with Jon once or twice, but he was also helpful. They've all devoted a lot of time to helping me over the years, with no guarantee of me buying. There was a particular tube they no longer had in stock, so I told them I would unfortunately have to buy somewhere else in that particular case. Their reply was something like "that's okay, we understand". They're always my first choice, and they've earned it."
"It would seem that my story is nothing new after reading countless others with the same issue. Ive been a professional guitarist and studio owner for over 2 decades. Sometime around 2012 I had the unfortunate dealings with Thetubestore. If memory serves me correctly, I purchased 2 matched pairs of power tubes. After receiving the tubes and installing them, I was still having issues with my amp so I brought it to my tech, who will remain nameless but let's just say he used to work for NASA and repairs amps for fun. He tested the tubes and assured me that they were indeed NOT a matched set, replaced the tubes with a matched set and my problem was solved. When I told TheTubeStore that there so called
"Matched Power Tubes" were not matched at all, they did what any fine, mature company would do ( Hmm ???), they refused to sell me any more tubes , did not replace the unmatched tubes, and banned me for life from there store. "
"On multiple orders, I received at least one defective tubes. It became annoying, so I wrote a fair, polite, yet negative Google Review, hoping I wouldn't have to buy from them again.
Some time later, I had no choice but to order from them again (because of shipping delays, I needed tubes asap and they are the closest).
Someone named "Jon" took the time to write me an email, complaining about my negative review and acting like a child. I explained that my review was fair, and that my point still stood, but yes that indeed I needed the tubes in a rush and their store was the closest so that was why. He replied with another childish email, saying he will not sell me tubes.
Obviously it's his prerogative, but what a crybaby, my god! Every store has negative reviews buddy, grow up!"
" I am a long time customer and have many tube amps and they were always my go to supplier and sent my friends there as well.
I bought a quad of Premium Price EL34B Tungsol reissues from them in Sept 2020.
I opened them up upon arrival to make sure they were not broken and whatnot.
They were not recent dated as 1 was 2016 and 3 were 2017 but tubes are usually good or not.
I was waiting for my amp to be shipped so I put them on the shelf thinking that they were tested by the tubestore so no worries right? Wrong.
Amp arrived April 5 so put them in set the bias and Two minutes of playing time then BZZZT **** blown HT fuse. Changed the tubes for a new tested quad of Mullard reissues and tonal bliss and no issues since.
Contacted them described the issue and they said sorry your 3 month warranty is expired, Period.
My shelf 3 months your shelf indefinite is how it works I guess.
They said they might send me a tube if I could figure out the bad tube so I get out the tester and find 2 faulty tubes. I sent pictures to them of the readings of internal shorts also and asked for replacements of the shorted tubes they sent.
They have offered me a 15% discount on a new set and are hiding behind their 3 month warranty blanket.
I made 2 mistakes, 1) Trusting them for quality control.
2) Not testing the tubes on arrival to verify they were good.
It should not be this difficult and Im done with the TubeStore. Nice going guys.
So much for supporting Canadian business eh. Lots of tube vendors to choose from in the global marketplace.
I just bought a set of replacements from a reputable US vendor and will support anyone that supports me."
"I ordered my drives back in mid March and have waited months for my items. I emailed them about this in which they said it's because of Covid-19 (which is fair enough) and if they didn't arrive by July, they'd resend my order. Well now that it is July I sent them an email to which I got no reply and then wrote up a message through their website on the order and got no response. After more than a week with no reply I am starting to wonder if not only my money has gone to nothing but if also my 4 months of waiting has gone to nothing too."
"I've recently bought a used orange dark terror and decided to replace the tubes. I've ordered 2 times from the tube store and both times I had no problems. Last order was 1x 12ax7 and 2x EL84 all Tung Sol. They were shipped the next business days and they arrived 2 or 3 days later. I selected the fed ex shipping. It cost more but is definitely worth paying the extra money to get tubes faster. Had emails sent constantly about the status and they arrived secure. The tubes sound great. Awesome experience and I will definitely keep buying tubes from this store!"

I always received a professional service, high quality tubes and the best support at all times. "I have probably spent close to 700 dollars in Tubes from Tubestore.com. Several individual Orders. With the other orders I blew off the Gruff Customer Service once I realized that the Company is rather large and the Warehouse is run by a totally different group of people. They are the people are responsible for sending us quality product. In my order I just made a couple of days ago I absolutely was shocked that I was lectured on the length of a Paragraph that I wrote to let them know what I was looking for with regards to my amp. Also that I had spend a Fortune for a single customer Rolling tubes from them. Well as I was being treated as if I am an idiot frankly the guy claims he lost the call or he just hung the phone up in my face. Well all of us Customers know this story well. Then The Manager also lectured me on frankly a very small description of maybe 50 words . sheesh. It fit the limit you could type in the field with some to spare. Further more I was asked repeatedly did I want to cancel the order. I never said I did and now I wait for 140 dollars of tubes that who knows what i will get after this childlike behavior. I must have like 7 to 8 orders in my history. Most of the tubes have turned out to be what they are and the expensive ones are in my amp now. Never the less I cannot trust this company at all now and I am very concerned that i may have just blown 140 dollars. I mean Wow I am over 55 and to hear young people disrespect me like this while I am spending A LOT of money with the company they WORK for is Outrageous and I am now down period. I noticed this isn't new. There are other reviews here complaining about their Mean Customer service. Mean is a good word for it. I would suspect there are no recordings going on here for them to be able to get away with that kind of treatment. So to those of you thinking about using Tubestore they have a great selection of tubes that is why i used them but its just not worth the risk when you get treated like this. There are other Tube Store alternatives but they dont have the wide selection of brands and there arnt many people who sell Tubes in the United States. I would try the United States if thats where your from now. I am very upset and worried. "
"Use them for years and have always had great service. On the last order they caught my error with the tubes I ordered. In their checkout I mentioned the amp these were for and bingo, problem averted. I’ve also have a few warranty issues and all were covered quickly and simply. When I did speak with them via email or telephone, each person I spoke with really knew their stuff. Orders shipped always within one business day and often same day. Tracking emails always sent. I’m impressed every time I deal with them. I wish the other online venders I deal with could be as competent. I’ve tried other tube sellers and keep coming back to the best."
"Pretty much take-it-or-leave-it customer service. I ordered the wrong tubes, and later that same day went to changed the order and was told they were shipped and I was notified (I wasn't). The tubes arrived quickly, and the same day were on their way back for an exchange. After three weeks of waiting for the returns to be processed, I purchased what I needed elsewhere (at a better price), and asked that my purchase price be refunded back my account. To late! They ship the replacement tubes (again, no notification) with the admonishment "This was not the arrangement". OK, the extra tubes are up on ebay and I'll never shop The Tube Store again."
