best cat food anywhere!

"I researched all kinds of foods and brands a few years ago when adopting my 2 cats. I use the turkey and chicken dehydrated food. They like them both and are very healthy!"

Happy Dog

"The dog food itself is of high quality for an OK price. The website is easy to use and brings me naturally through it to a simple checkout. My dog loved every one of the samples I got and I plan to order food through honest kitchen as a supplement with other food (can't fully afford to have him on it full time). The samples are a great size for backpacking adventures as they are light and compact enough for my dog to carry them, and the taste makes my that picky eater gobble it up."

Big Problem - solved with grace, flexibility and enthusiasm

"My dog is allergic to storage mites. This means - he cannot safely eat dried food... However - I tried a small package of the Honest Kitchen's freeze dried food and not only was it convenient (a life saver on the day I'd forgotten to set out some fresh meat for him)... he only broke out a little bit in response to the small portion I had to give him (which was really a larger portion after re-hydrated). I wrote to the company explaining that I cannot buy this food in bulk - and I cannot feed it regularly to my dog - but I am thinking I CAN use it as a "oops I forgot meat" replacement on occasion... just need to make sure I'm not getting so much in a package that I cannot protect it from continuous storage mite proliferation. I am amazed and impressed that not only did we worked out a very satisfactory resolution, that allows me to make occasional but regular purchases of their product - but someone on their end *understands* the storage mite issue... and was very open to recognizing the problem it represents to a dog that is allergic to them. That admission and willingness to protect my dog at the possibility of losing me as a customer (because my dog Might Not be able to eat their food safely over time)... makes this company GOLD to me! They've kept me as a customer - because they (and I) understand that this might not work for my dog - and if it doesn't work... instead of trying to "make it" work... they'll just say "we tried".... and good luck. (there is not really anything anyone can do about storage mites ... if you have dried food - you have them.. but they do have a product that is less susceptible to extreme proliferation of the mites because the product is produced in very small packages - so you dont have to open an entire container -but just the amount you will actually use on that day.)
The admission that their dog food might have a fault doesn't seem like very good business at the surface - but in this case - it is a huge selling point to me. I want to use their food - and I still want my dog to be safe... and this company is very willing to work with me so that I can use their food and still keep my dog well.
While I might not represent much in the way of money coming out of my pocket to this company - You can be sure that I'm going to tell everyone I know about their integrity and the viability of their foods...
Thank you a million times! Thank you!

Hooked After One Meal!

"My dog always ate a very high quality food, but I'm always looking for something better. After hearing great things about Honest Kitchen from someone I trust very much I decided to check it out. I'm honestly incredibly impressed, he always had a very healthy, soft coat, but now it's somehow even more vibrant. His muscle mass has improved, as has his energy level. Even my neighbor commented on the difference! He eats half honest kitchen and half kibble, but I only use the kibble because I need training treats, otherwise Honest Kitchen all the way!

Also it came almost a week earlier than I expected! But I live in a large city so that may be why.

Keeping me as a customer

"I spend about $300/month on my dog's food, treats, and supplements - almost all of which is The Honest Kitchen. I buy about half of it direct, and the other half at local retailers or online when I find it on sale and stock up.

The few occasions where I need to contact their customer service to fix a problem, they fix it. There is a lot of competition in this market, but it's their service and rewards program that keeps me coming back to The Honest Kitchen.

Thanks from me and Nalu!

Quick Response

"The order arrived quickly. My cat likes Prowl and seems to be doing well with it. She doesn't like the cranberries or chunks of things, but eats them when they've softened. "

Not so nice mussels

"My dog did not seem to understand what the mussels were for. He investigated the one we gave him and then started rolling in it. They are messy and seemed to give him gas. I liked having the chance to try them free, but I think you have a bad product there. He played with it, at some bits, and left the rest on the floor. We threw the remaining mess away, but the smell lingered on. Not impressed. "

A scrumptious life saver (literally)

"My little 9 year old Yorker had a bout with pancreatitis almost 2 years ago after someone fed him a piece of of raisin bread!! He had been on Primal raw food his entire life rotating protein sources. After pancreatitis my holistic vet recommended turkey and canned pumpkin or squash and rerun to normal diet but avoid rotating protein sources such as duck, lamb or pork. I strictly put him on venison which was 17% fat and he seemed fine but I noticed a little fat in his stool. He ended up having chronic pancreatitis instead of an acute attack. I immediately got scared resorted to Science Diet can food (low fat I/D) ONLY UNTIL I COULD DO SOME SERIOUS HOMEWORK. In that short 2 week time he began looking sickly, fatigued and his once shiny coat was course. I found THK Zeal and within no time his energy level and silky coat retuned. I had read many articles and studies in that time that long term low fat diets, (below 10%) which is what any traditional vet will recommend, can actually provoke another pancreatic attack. So I began slowly increasing his fat content with coconut oil as that was part of the studies I had read due to high lauric acid content. This was working out extremely well but my dog was pooping 5x a day and after raw feeding and him pooping only 1 time per day I felt terrible for him. I than played around with different THK foods and he is now on Force with Pure Form and doing well. His poops went to 4x per day but I slowly started decreasing the amount of food, although 1/2 cup was his recommended amount he now eats just a bit over 1/4 cup and has not lost any weight and poops 2x day. Thank you THK for your high quality food that my dog loves and gave him a second chance! I forgot to mention he also takes a half tablet of Standard Process Pancreatropin PMG with each meal. Also, customer service is top notch, you call, you speak to a human in a quick and timly manner. "
