"Pinot (Borzoi) and Sophie (Greyhound) have been on a raw food diet for the last 11 years. I mix 1/2 Preference Base Mix & 1/2 Keen grain free turkey to supplement the raw meat. Pickle was a stray and came into our lives 2 years ago. She is eating Keen and loves it. Pickle weighs 4 pounds, Sophie 42 pounds and Pinot 58 pounds they are very healthy and I attribute it in part to the nutrition they receive from the Honest Kitchen foods. "I rescued an extremely emaciated 9 week old kitten. He weighed just under 50 % his ideal body weight for his age, he was extremely lethargic and was showing signs of Fading Kitten Syndrome. The Honest Kitchen helped me to maintain his hydration levels at a very crucial time when he wasn't drinking any water. When I was able to take him to the vet the two days later, my vet's only concern was "Well, he's got to weight to gain, but he doesn't need any subcutaneous fluids - keep doing what you're doing!" I did just that, and after 4 weeks on THK, my kitten has made a complete turnaround. He has doubled in weight and has caught up to his ideal body weight, his coat softened, his eyes cleared up, and most importantly, he regained the strength and energy to finally be a kitten!
NOTE: Any animal in a state of starvation such as my little rescue should of course be seen by a veterinarian. My vet made NO recommendations regarding dietary changes. My kitten had a 50/50 chance at surviving and I am confident that we would not have seen the same results if we had used traditional dry kibble."
