"I have spent over $15,000 on servers through ThinkMate over the years. But after my most recent order, I no longer use or recommend Thinkmate in any way, shape or form.
The typical/recurring pattern of "behavior" when ordering a new server is as follows:
When you place your server order, SOMETHING in the order will inevitably be on backorder. There will be no communication on the back ordered parts, or any communications about delays in general regarding your order; unless you initiate the communication first (typically when you're left wondering what's going on). It will also take a few emails to even elicit a response back from them. Additionally, any given/projected delivery dates will be missed without any update or notification from the sales rep.
What finally pushed me "over the edge", is that during my most recent server purchase, I was threatened by my sales rep that they were going to cancel my order; after expressing my disappointment and frustration with 2 previously missed shipping/delivery dates without any communication.
I did eventually receive the server that I ordered, and it is working well so far. Then nearly 2 weeks after the delivery of said server, a random FedEx box shows up and it is the TPM module that was "forgotten" during the server assembly. Again, no communication, explanation, nothing; the module just showed up.
I again have not had any issues with any of the servers I have had you guys build. But the customer service creates/adds frustration to the whole server buying/ordering experience that is entirely unnecessary, and creates tension/issues between myself and the end user/customer.
I called customer service and was told a manager would call me back regarding the matter, but no one has ever called me back. So I contacted corporate directly via social media. But I only received a message back confirming that my order was not canceled, and had in fact shipped. But nothing further regarding the actions of my sales rep."
"I bought a Thinkmate workstation from a reseller, a new, unused, customized machine with about two and a half years left of the three year warranty. I wanted to install a soundcard and upgrade my video card so I contacted Thinkmate customer service and as soon as I told the customer service agent that I purchased the workstation from a reseller, even over the phone I could tell there was an attitude change. He asked for the order number of the workstation, there were several numbers on the machine and the box that it came in, so I asked him where would it be located, he told me to contact the reseller for that information. I told him that the reseller sells thousands of other items besides computers and probably would not retain that information after a sale and all I wanted to know is what would be compatible with the motherboard for the sound card and the video card, so he asked for the model and the serial number and all the information that I gave him came from the box that it came in and the workstation itself and all of it was either incorrect or insufficient. This lout at customer service had no intention of helping me because the purchase was made at a reseller and not directly from the Thinkmate company. The workstation is functioning pretty good, but if you had a serious problem and there's no support or service after the sale it's not worth purchasing. "
