Customer service

" Customer service is in possible or nonexistent. A simple need to change a shipping address turned into several hours on the phone (on hold) only to finally get through to somebody that was completely unable to help me other than offering a $10 credit for a lost $50 order. I would not recommend doing business with this company. Wish I had read the reviews before ordering. "

They lost my business

"Horrable customer service. I placed an order online after i changed all my billing and shipping information. For several months there were no issues. All the sudden the online information reverted back to an old address therefore i did not receive my order. Deeply dissatisfied and will no longer be patronizing Thompson Cigars. No effort was made by customer service to rectify the issue or keep my business. Try another company before this establishment"

DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THOMSON CIGARS

"If you buy something from them They sucker you into a subscription service where they automatically order cigars for you even though they say no member ship fee or any obligation to buy to buy anything with membership. out of nowhere and unautorized they charged me $119.95.

If you are a victim to Thomson cigars please report it to consumer report in Florida.

"Me: What a SCAM of a "business." DONT DO IT!!! About a month after ordering $80 worth of cigars we decided to order again. As I'm on the phone about a question I'm told I need to go through "age verification" because it's my first time ordering. Well if you read the above correctly you'll see that I in fact ordered one time before without this mythical "age verification." I agreed to go through "age verification" and that consisted of the very confused sounding customer service agent reading my address back to me.

Not 3 hours later customer service calls back and tries to essentially trick me into buying a monthly box of cigars. They made it seem like something was wrong with my current order, asked me what type of cigars I liked and not 5 seconds later I was told it would be like $180 a month. The audacity!!! If I see 1 penny on my credit card bill from them that I did not authorize, they better pray they got some good lawyers on hand.

These types of people are what's wrong with this country. Tricking and scamming people into buying your product because you can't sell without it. I'm thoroughly disgusted and I wholeheartedly regret sending my money to you in the first place. When every response to a negative yelp review is "we apologize for the inconvenience we've caused you" you might want to rethink your business practices.

I will NEVER ever ever buy cigars and accessories from here ever again and I urge you to do the same. Find somewhere reputable, because this is not it

We were able to access your account and show that the reason you had to go through age verification again is because the first order was placed in your name and the second order was placed in another name. We do not show that our agents enrolled you in a club so there should not be any shipments going out. The agent should go over the price of the product, the billing information, form of payment, frequency and the next ship date when signing a customer on a club and we also have a secondary agent verify the information again. We will listen to this call to ensure our policies are being followed. Thank you for your patience and let us know if there is anything else we can assist with.

Me: My point exactly, the first time I ordered I went through no such thing as "age verification." The second time, all of a sudden there's "age verification." I have 0 issue with verifying an age but at LEAST be consistent.

I highly recommend you listen to that phone call along with every other call that resulted in a scam complaint on here because according to Yelp out of 193 reviews 112 are 1 star and 18 2-3 stars - you CLEARLY have a problem with your "business" practices. 62% of your reviews are negative, that should say enough about the company you run and you should be ashamed. I've dealt with people like this and I do not take kindly to this given I've seen what it can do to someone who really doesn't understand what's going on. The fact that the evidence shows you have 0 remorse for stealing money from people makes me sick. You know that even if you can trick 1 out of 3 you're good. Hope you sleep well at night.

Again, I will NEVER order from this place again and I certainly plan on spreading to word to every ear that will listen to me and every cigar shop him or I step into.

"Automatic charge for 14.95 after my second order called # provided and of course got someone in India did get charge removed I think,this company calls themselves "total value plus" .so called affiliate with thompson,just tells me thompson is giving out my card #.stay away these guys are cons !!!!!!!!!!!"

RIP OFF - UNAUTHORIZED BILLING CHARGES

"I ordered some butane for two lighters I purchased in December for Christmas as gifts. The butane came in with no problem. I received two calls from them trying to sell me a club membership and shipments of cigars. I told them I did not smoke ant the butane I purchased was for lighters that were Christmas gifts.

Now I am getting unauthorized charges and shipments on things I did not order.

Never Again

"Placed my order on November 24th took them 4 days to process the order. Then took another 14 days to receive it from their location in Tampa Fl. to mine in Miramar Beach Fl. Gave them a call as I thought the order was lost, they agreed and sent out a replacement order. Well as luck would have it the original order did show as I stated a total of 18 days after order placement.
The replacement order they sent I figured I would just accept it pay for it as I can always use cigars. Checked tracking today and they are on their way to Rochester, NY when I made it clear they were to be shipped to Miramar Beach Florida.
Called today and their wonderful customer service rep said we will call you back after our investigation is complete.
What a joke I am done with Thompson cigar, back to Cigar International.

Scam Artists

"I bought a box of cigars from Thompson and they tried to sell me a "membership". I said no thanks but they called me relentlessly. Finally I signed up and it was a nightmare from the very start. I kept getting cigars I never ordered, didn't get specials I was promised and after I finally changed to Holt's Cigars (Awesome by the way) they sent me a $30.00 INVOICE after being inactive for 6 months. They hounded me and threatened collection so I paid it rather than getting a ding on my credit score, but ONLY because of that. Don't say you weren't warned! "

"I have purchased a bunch of cigars from Thompson and must say, I am VERY unimpressed. I run an online business as well and if I treated my customers like them, I would be out of business. They are always back ordering my cigars and when they do have them in stock (rare), it takes days to process my order. I paid for 3 day shipping to get them quick, the only problem is that it took 3 days for them to ship them. I still do not have them. I will NEVER order from them again.
I have ordered from Mike's cigars and get them in 2 days. Say good bye to Thompson and HELLO Mike!!!!!

"I placed an order with Thompson cigars and during the order process I opted out of receiving marketing... At the end of the order I was offered a 10% discount on my order for signing up to ??? I didn't sign up.
Since I place my order, I have received multiple mailers that I didn't want. I received a call on my cell phone, misleading me by telling me my order had shipped (it had not) and solicitation me to sign up and get 10% (Same thing I didn't do at check out). After being told that my order shipped I received several emails pertaining to out of stock items??? (That supposedly had shipped??). I called customer service 2 times, sent emails.. Their chat says to leave a number and someone will call you, 8AM... I leave a number at 8:15 ET, get a call back, automated....telling me hours are (AM ET ????
This company is the worst I've dealt with when it comes to internet purchasing. Abusive marketing and lousy customer service. Tip...Don't

I was in the MIDDLE of an order in response to a "deal" on shipping (I put up with a MILLION emails for "specials") when I must have crossed over midnight and - WHAM! - "The promo code has expired." Wow! In the middle of my order. OK, your opportunity to do business with me has just "expired.""
