"I've shopped in the brick-and-mortar stores for years, and they are fine--the prices are good, and the employees are pleasant to deal with. But online is a different story. I made 11 orders online over a few months' time. Three times, boxes arrived with broken dishes. They were reasonably well-wrapped in bubble wrap, but the boxes were thin, and the bowls had a lot of room to move around. I returned several bowls to a store and sent one back without much problem. The dishes had sold out (two were canceled from my original order), but would reappear sporadically, and I kept trying to re-order them, along with other items. Sometimes they would be canceled again, and I ended up paying shipping on things I wouldn't have ordered otherwise. I received a total of 6 cancellations from my 11 orders. I understand that this happens, but this is excessive! The online store obviously has an issue with inventory. My biggest problem came when I found a set of 12 appetizer plates in New Arrivals for $8.99. I got excited and ordered two sets, as well as a top I'd previously considered buying. When the package arrived, there were only two *plates,* not two sets of plates. I took them to the store, where I asked for my shipping charges back as well as the cost of the plates. The manager was very kind, but said that only the online store could refund my shipping, and that if I mailed the plates back, I would get a shipping refund. So I went back home, packaged them up securely, and drove them to the UPS Store. Did I get a shipping refund? No--I was only refunded the cost of the plates. I emailed Customer Service twice and never got a reply. If I knew that was going to happen, I would just have returned the plates in the store, but the manager was quite insistent they would refund the $8.99 if I sent them back. I feel that because the plates were falsely advertised and I had to go to a lot of trouble to return them, I should have at least been offered a free shipping code. I won't say I will never shop their store online again, as they do have some great bargains, but I no longer browse there and prefer to shop elsewhere. "
"The physical store is great but I have had horrible experiences with the online one. I've purchased unexpensive sunglasses and a Stella McCartney at the same time, online. When I got the package I opened it and guess what? The sunglasses were there and the Stella McCartney's frames box as well, EMPTY!!!! Usually I get my rewards certificates from TJMaxx stolen but this was too much! I called them and to my surprise they told me to send the empty box back for a refund. Great, if the frame was not a birthday present. No apologies or compensation whatsoever, it was like the most natural thing in the world! This not to mention the pictures frames that get to me broken because they were packed with no protection at all. I'm done with TJ Maxx!"
"Love this store! Sometimes I go just for inspiration and creative ideas not knowing what I'm going to find is just fun!"
