"I placed an order with True Swords, with who I purchased from many times, but it had been years ago. I'd bought a few Shinwas but started collecting higher quality Musashi swords. They still had Musashi's but also had a brand called
SokoJikira. The item was a Katana made with T10, clay tempered steel with a nice ,real hamon produced by the application of clay when the blade is quenched. I checked several sword sites and the prices were all comparable, I even had a 10% off code, so that basically made up for the shipping cost. I placed my order on their website on a Saturday, my order shipped the following Monday and was in my hands by Wednesday. 3 days, that's it. I even had some questions for some specific info, which the salesperson didn't know beyond what she could look up, but recieved a call from their product specialist. The sword was made by an excellent craftsman, was packaged well, and had no issues whatsoever. It's a nice piece to add to my collection. I've had no problems with any order I've made with True Swords or their parent company BudK. I'll be purchasing from them again for sure."

I was charged $88.87USD shipping for an item I could have purchased elsewhere for much less than the listed price. I live in Australia and trying to obtain information from these people is impossible. I wanted to know how they got my account details but they refuse to correspond with me anymore. Because of geological isolation I am unable to sue (over 10,000 miles between us) so I will have to resort to lodging a complaint with the US Better Business Bureau.

"I think Bud-K (part of Shinwa) knows they are crappy sword dealers so they set up all these satellite companies (True Sword, Kolourco are a few) to make people see it is not just Bud-K and walk away.
First, True sword sells junk for sometimes twice the price you can find elsewhere. I was needing a Wakizashi and thinking that True Sword was a reputable company, I believed their BS, and bought the Shikoto Wakizashi Sword. When I did the research (I should have done to start!), I found that Shikoto is owned by United Cutlery (a basic junk, wall hanger company). When I searched further, I found that they were charging over $100 more for their junk than the exact item at another junk dealer.

"I ordered a sword well before Christmas and it never arrived. I call customer service to order a second sword since it was a much anticipated gift. The person who answered the phone sounded like a bored 15 year old who answered with an aggravated, "Hello." I had to ask if I had indeed reached true swords. I explained that I never received my order to which I got silence. I stated I wanted to reorder and asked if since I was paying for the same item twice could I at least receive free shipping (something they do offer new customers which I am). Bored teenager replied "We don't do that." I asked to speak to a manager and was put in hold. Bored teenager returned and flatly stated, "She said no." I canceled my order. Maybe the original order will show up by next Christmas."
"On 11/24/17 I ordered a sword from them.. I received two receipts with two different order numbers... Then a few hours later I received an additional two different receipts from BUDK for the same item, send a notice that I must contact customer service within three days to verify by phone my info or item will not ship! I contact trueswords customer service, they tell me they never received my order, but I have two emailed invoices??? So they tell me I must call customer service to verify my billing info or they won't send my item... I tell them I thought I was talking to customer service? It was one huge cluster "F". I told Brandi to cancel my order, I emailed them telling them to cancel my order and refund all the charges. Two days later I get an email apologizing, that they cannot refund my charges because my items just shipped?
These people are bulls**t !"
"I ordered some swords for my wedding, gave them my card details and received an order confirmation email telling me my order would be sent in a few days. I get plenty of emails from them, but every single one is marketing material despite the fact I opted out of any material. Before long a month has gone and no word of my swords. I email them asking what's happened, and they tell me they cancelled my order. They claim they sent an email, but the date they gave was three days before I made my order. When I tell them I'm unhappy they reply with 'I'm sorry there was a problem with your card'. They get their dates mixed up, send me a confirmation email, then cancel my order without telling me and have the nerve to blame it on my card, an issue they didn't mention once prior!

"First time we ordered from TrueSwords I got some mystery packs for Christmas for my 4 boys. Best Christmas ever. Skip ahead to Christmas 2016. Looking for a particular mystery bag. Finally came in stock and ordered it. But my order never came. Couldn't find it in my account. Called TS and they said it had been cancelled (without notifying me of such...gosh, how did that happen?). So now I'm scrambling for gifts. Thought I'd try and make up for it if the items came back in stock after Christmas...maybe a King's Day present. SAME. THING. HAPPENS. The computer system says it's in stock and accepts my order. I try to check on it and it doesn't freaking exist!!! I'm done. If they could get their computer system straightened out...but I can't see trusting them with my time and money again. "

"Similar story to budk. This time my address was correct on the system. But the knife got sent somewhere else. Reached out to customer service.... guess what? Same person from budk responds to this issue. FML. I asked to check the order and my address. Yep order was sent to the wrong place and has been returned to sender as per the shipping company I ask for a refund so I can get something else. Denied. You get nothing until we get our item back.....
Long story short. Complaining to the BBB yields results. Got a refund 3 days later. No apology about their mistake or how they treated me. Never again"
"I purchased a knife from this company and requested to have initials engraved on it. I received a knife without the engraving, although I was charged for it. Since the knife was a birthday gift and an exchange would probably not arrive in time, I had the engraving done locally. When I contacted the company to ask for a refund they said they could not refund the cost of the engraving without proof that the blade arrived without it. I offered to send them a copy of my receipt from the engraving company and I was told that was not sufficient proof. So apparently they believe I either paid to have the blade engraved with the same initials that were already on it, or I went to tremendous trouble to forge a receipt in order to cheat them out of five whole dollars. Either way, it is ridiculous. Poor customer service and poor quality control. Beware."
