"I took my Toyota RAV4 plug-in hybrid to the service at 7:30am for a regular 40K maintenance.
I told them I was hearing some noise from driver seat and the service rep told me that they could check it but just the diagnostic cost will be $199. I told him and I m the first owner of this car. This is kinda new car I was keep hearing these noise almost 10K-15K miles before too. And he said this car is not a new car anymore and if you want us to check the noise issues at least the diagnostic fee will be $199. After that, the repair cost will be extra cost. i thought he couldn’t wake up from his bed cause I didn’t feel any polite attitude from him. This was my first time after my extended warranty service started. They also offered some recommended services which was $1200 for battery filter replacement $399 mass airflow sensor cleaning which is $399 and one another service which is around also $349. Usually, whatever they recommend I was usually saying Yes. But because of his impolite attitude, I said NO. And don’t do any thing else.
Luckily I had to say no cause If I was going to move forward with all these recommended service, the service cost was going to cost me $1200. And he also mentioned I have a $60 discount . It s ridiculous. I got some recommendations from other dealers and Battery air filter, replacement and mass airflow sensor cleaning could take 30 mins and it might cost around $100.
Learned lesson, I m not going to bring my car to this dealer anymore cause they lost all my trust. Especially after I saw their high service cost, I ll take my car to other service points and I won’t make any business with this dealer."
