"Sponsor me! I am starting a charity. MFM...Miles for Mentors. I swim, run and bike and raise sponsors for each mile. I then give grants to our local YMCA Mentor group and our local Scouting groups. YMCA uses funds for tickets to sporting events, theatre and other fun stuff that the mentors cannot afford on their own. Our local scouting troops have a need for local education opportunities. At present they are required to travel to the metro area for this training. I am working on funding local training for the area scouting troops so they can access training easier and more cost efficient. My intent is to support these two groups and add possible groups in need down the road as my charity grows. I want to support the mentoring of kids so that they can have a better chance to become better citizens and have the skills to be productive in their communities.
