"I had a hassle-free buying experience with my Sony HDR-XR500V Handycam from US1Photo. I also ordered a wide-angle lens that I will, probably, never remove from the camcorder: no more standing in corners of rooms to try and get the "complete" picture."
"I canceled my order, placed yesterday, after reading what was said here. Their price for the item in question, a Canon Vixia HG21 was the lowest by $50, but then last night I got a call, telling me that there was a problem with my credit card - the expiration date was coming up wrong! What was weird was they had a date of 2008, which is impossible to enter, since the expiration date is a drop down menu!
He then proceeded to ask me which battery I wanted, and tried to sell me an extended warranty. He also asked if I wanted it by Christmas, and basically said it would be 2-3 week if I used the free shipping. The order confirmation I got had said processing of 1-3 days, shipping of 2-9 days, even at worst case, that is 12 days - less than 2 weeks, so in my opinion, he just wanted me to pony up for expedited shipping.
I am so glad I read here in time to cancel and order from a reputable business - I may pay more, but at least I know the company is honest. "

I bought a camcorder kit(listed as the most complete one) as an international order, I was instructed to call, Victor, the sales agent quite nice and seemed to know a lot, but "upgraded" everything I asked for, raising my total from 2,000 to almost 3,000!! After telling him it was too much, he kept offering me several things, until we arranged 2600. Fool of me!!! I doubted since then, but kept 300 COD and I really needed the stuff on time, so I accepted, praying everything came out ok.
The package arrived, but 2 items were missing (not listed in the packaging slip - about 700!)
I sent some emails and at the time writting I have been waiting form more than 30 minutes in the phone for customer service! My sales agent do not takes my calls anymore! (He was the fastest before) And I am on a long distance call, trying to at least get my money back.

I called back to get a lense cover and was talked into getting the "executive" package of accessories and my price was up to 1149. WHAT A SCAM! The stuff I received was JUNK and took 14 days to arrive. The recommended battery with extra life and all other accesories were NOT cannon but all after market cheap knock offs called Zeikos, priced at 25% the cost of true canon products. To add insult, my " tripod was a cheapy 4 inch job! Everytime I have called the same guy "bruce" answers. I tried to get my return auth taken care of Sunday, but they said (same guy) sorry customer service is closed till Monday at 1100. DO NOT USE THEM."
"I ordered a Canon HFS10 dual flash camcorder for($869), accessory package for($299.99) and a battery charger for($89.99) for a total of $1257.99. I was told to contact a sales person as my order was large. He(Mickey) very quickly in less than a minute told me he would upgrade a bunch of different things on my accessory list and would send me an email listing the upgrades which would now cost me $150 extra.
When I later received the listing in the evening the only thing I found upgraded was a memory card from 2GB to 4GB and a tripod from 57 inches to 62.
I called him back telling him that I wasn't going to pay $150 to upgrade a memory card and tripod and that I wanted to revert back to my original order. So he quickly hung up in 30 seconds!!
I never heard from him and in 3 days I got the products I ordered. The camcorder was fine, but I didn't see the lithium battery and a $90 charger that I had ordered and neither the free MP4 player I was supposed to have received.
so when I called back, I was told I would have to pay for shipping as for some reason they had shipped it express when all I had asked for was ground and then they told me they would send me any charger they wanted and that the free MP4 player could have been a mistake and that I should have never received it in the first place.
someone else told me that all the accessories were upgraded and so i pointed out that what was listed on their website for $300 was exactly what I had received with no upgrades what so ever.
The customer service representative( Thomas) started getting annoyed and then told me that I was talking loudly to him so I told him he was doing the same thing and cutting me short every time I tried to explain something.
In short I was on hold for an hour and was told that I was costing them money and that I should just be happy with what i got which was the camcorder for a good price.
BY the time the whole thing was taken care of, I knew I would never deal with this bunch of dishonest people again.
Never again will I buy from this store, their camcorder prices may be good, but accessories are all hiked up and customer service is simply terrible.
I will never go thru this hassel again. NEVER
I wanted to add that though Rodney walker wasn't as rude as the other two customer service representatives(micky and Thomas) I had to deal with. He made it clear from the time he contacted me about my comments on Reseller Ratings that he wnated them edited.
I was sent a cheap charger twice by this company, though both in a timely fashion. I looked up the price of the charger they sent me and it sold from $17-24 on other reputable online sites, whereas I was charged $89.99 on US1Camera for it.
When I wanted to return the charger,
Mr Walker told me that he would give me a partial refund for the charger and once my comments were edited I would received the rest.
In 2-4 days I did see the whole amount refunded for the charger I had retuned, but then was told by Mr Walker than I should now remove my comments from Reseller Ratings.
I had wanted to try and forget abt this whole episode and just decided to remind myself never to buy from an online store with a pretty bad rating like US1Camera again and just keep the $300 package that was a complete wate of money.
But was contacted by Mr Walker again reminding me that I had to keep my end of the bargain and revise my statement just because they had given me a full refund that I was entitled to in the 1st place."

i got it from them for $799+$30 for shipping.
got it in about one week. i still have it right now. satisfied with the way the did business with me. the only compaint i have is that 2 weeks later, their customer service called me and asked if i would take a 5 minute survey, they would send me a free cleaning kit for my new camcorder- i agreed. never got the darn thing- didn't want it anyway. apart from that, i'd hold my breath and give them a second shot- with my guards up of-course."

I ordered Nikon D90 body, Nikon 18-55mm VR lens, Nikon 50mm AF prime lens, 8GB SDHC Memory card, 3 hour battery and much more! They offered the best prices available that I could find for merely 3 weeks. Unfortunately, I had unsufficient funds to pay for everything so I had to cancel my order. In efforts of trying to keep me as their customer and everything they also offered another 100$ discount on top of hundreds of dollars of discount that I was already getting. Superb customer service and would definitely come back here on my next and every purchase of DSLR camera & accessories.

It is not surprising why other people have to check this site for "Is US1Photo a scam" on google because this site is UNBELIEVABLE.
