"I wish I had found this site before I dealt with these a**holes.
I called to find out if the SONY KDL-40XBR2 LCD TV was in stock and new as advertised on their website USA WHOLESALE CLUB.com. The salesman said yes it is and it comes with a US warranty and is brand new in box. I promptly placed my order for $1849.00 + $199 shipping. About 3 hours later, I received a telephone call and email asking to contact them because my billing address and shipping address were different. I called, and the gentleman was initially very friendly. He confirmed my order and then the bait and switch began. He then asked if I read their disclaimer on the website. "what the F**K?" If you click on "policies and services," you will see the following comment..."Because we sell all over the world, our advertised products do not have USA manufactured warranty. US customers are highly recommended to inquire about US warrantied items."
So the $1849 sony model advertised as US model and new comes with no warranty. I was informed that it cost me another $300 for the US warranty model. I told them that their advertising and business practices were deceptive and I said I am going to cancel my order. I then hung up and called my credit card company and promptly cancelled my card. Finally, I went to Sony's site and found out that they only recognize the warranty on LCD's bought from their authorized resellers. So I bought one from them and that is that. PLEASE DON"T ORDER FROM THIS FRAUDULENT COMPANY. I filed a complaint with the NY BBB, for what that is worth."
"I called to find out warranty on TV. Salesman stated you get Manufacturers U.S. warranty with Samsung TV. I placed the order on line. I was asked to call to verify order. Then the bait and switch began. They stated the TV came with no warranty and that it would cost another $1000 for warranty, 2 hdmi cables and a power strip. I told the person about my previous call and they said it never happened. Then called me a m*therf*cker and hung up. I guess they cancelled my order according to AMEX."
"Worst experience ever! I ordered a plasma TV from them 8/21/2006 and kept getting emails to call them and comfirm my order, the TV was a Panasonic TH-42PX60U 42" plasma for $1489 plus $269 shipping. After calling them back the guy said the screen overheated and he would have to sell me the 600 model for $500 more and would not stop bothering me about it. FYI I have researched this TV in detail and never heard of such a problem. Also when I ordered online the TV was in stock at their store. Finally I said I wanted a full refund since they could not provide me with the product I ordered. He said no and started talking about the 600 series TV again and told me not to be cheap. I again said I wanted a refund. He said he would charge me 10% cancellation fee. Obviously he was trying to bully me into spending another $500.
It was about now I got pretty mad, who wouldnt. He became verbally abusive with me and at one point he told me he was drunk. I asked to speak with the manager and he just put the phone down and picked it up again pretending to be the manager. When I asked for his name he said it was Al Kaida.....real funny. After I got upset with him he said my cancellation fee just went up to 20%. He also stated he was going to spread my a** open. This is an honest account of what happened on my call back on 8/22/2006 at 3:28pm pacific time AZ.
I called my credit card company after hanging up on him and had a block put on my card, they didnt charge it yet."
"After using the standard search engines to find a good price for a SONY Handycam DCR-DVD403 DVD Digital Camcorder, I selected USA Wholesale Club. Its price was good but not so good that I knew it was a scam site. I ordered the camera on November 14, 2005. The salesman gave me the standard line about all the "extras" I really needed and seemed very disappointed when I declined them all. He then said the product would ship in 48 hours.
I continued to check the website regarding shipping and when nothing had changed regarding my order in 3 days, I emailed them on Thursday, November 17. I received no response.
On Friday, Nov. 18, I called the 800 number and was electronically advised (after being on hold for 10 minutes) that the call could not be completed. I immediately called back and after 20 unanswered rings, hung up.
On Saturday, Nov. 19, I emailed them again but received no response.
On Monday, Nov. 21, I emailed them to cancel my order for all the foregoing reasons and alerted AMEX to the problem. Finally, on Wednesday, Nov. 23, I received an email acknowledging the cancellation of the order. As of today, Nov. 27, my order still reflects that it is pending on the USA Wholesale Club website.
I now know that because I wouldn't purchase any of the "extras" (lens filters, upgraded battery, shipping insurance), the company had no intention of shipping the product. By comparison, at beachcamera.com, I ordered the same camera at about $25 more. The product shipped the next day and I have been provided with prompt and accurate tracking info all along the way. In addition, no one at beachcamera.com tried to sell me anything other than what I ordered.
I will never visit usawholesaleclub.com again. Do so at your own risk.
