Called three times and on all three occasions they offered a full refund. They have now gone against that and are not offering a refund. "

"I love you guys, but you blew it, in my opinion. I sent me daughter a birthday present, which should have arrived the day before her birthday. She was not home at the time, so her husband opened it, as there was no card attached. Turns out you shipped my daughter someone else's purchase. I got an email stating the item was delivered, so I thought she had her gift. I waited for her to tell me she loved it, but instead heard the entire story. There was a second email regarding a refund, so I asked what the refund was for, and instead got an automated response, but no phone call. I'm pretty sad- first time I've ever, in 37 years, not gotten her birthday present to her on time. "

They tracked it, found it held up at fedex, issued a refund for shipping and got us a new one in just a couple of days. They followed up to confirm receipt! Everyone I dealt with was friendly and knowledgeable! The were uncommonly wonderful!"
"I placed an order and paid $20 for expedited 1-2 day shipping as I needed it quickly for a gift. The next day, I received a message that the order would ship in a week, yet the charge for $20 remained! When I inquired, customer service advised it was a custom order and couldn't be shipped for a week. However, that was not clear at the point of order. Why did their system allow expedited shipping as a choice for this order? Who pays for expedited shipping to get it in 10 days?! Then I tried to cancel online which it said I could do ('manage, change or cancel my order) just 1 day later and it would not allow it. So I had to chat with Customer service on line. He said 'yes, I can put in a "REQUEST" to cancel the order.' This was strange terminology. He could not provide any confirmation in writing or a number for the cancellation. I didn't know what was going on. Why couldn't he simply cancel it then and there? It took 2 business days to receive confirmation of cancellation and refund. Definitely needs some system and process upgrades. "
"I ordered some gifts for a birthday present and although the uncommongoods email said they were on their way FedEx said they hadn't received them. I called customer service and met a charming and efficient young man. He listened to me, he reassured me and then promised me I would receive the goods in time for the birthday. I received them within 48 hours. I was also impressed with the quality of the goods I purchased. As a retired physician and attorney I dealt with the public all the time and I was very impressed with how this young man managed me. I would recommend UnCommonGoods in the future and I shall use them again myself."

"The quality is high but so are their prices. Most items they sell you can probably live without but they are nice "decorative" goods that would make nice gifts for people who have everything. Thus the demographic of their average buyer is usually someone who's well off and can indulge in some frivolous spending.
I've discovered that a lot of their stuff ends up in thrift shops after the holidays are over. If you want to spend a lot for a whimsical item that you'll get bored with after a few months, go for it. I only buy their stuff when it goes on sale, and even then, I find it a bit overpriced. But I respect the fact the goods are made by artists and artisans, so you are supporting their livelihood. "
