"I ordered a mobo. combo - cpu, mobo, & memory. First of all the cpu was advertised as Retail in the Box and when it was delieverd, the cpu was installed allready with no box in sight. It took some digging on the website to discover that the combos would be pre-assemebled, but still I wondered why it would be advertised as RETAIL in the BOX. The processing of the order was extremely slow. I had a defect somewhere in the combo. The issue was obvious whenever an OS was tried to be installed. Their tech support only tests the hardware on the physical level, they never tried to install an OS as a test, so I was charged a $70 re-stocking fee. Their customer service was rude and beyond time consuming to make contact with. I would never wish to even be associated with this company again. They have many poor practices."

"I originally placed order for Motherboard/CPU combo on August 12th. The order was stuck in processing, and after two phone calls to United Micro on the following week no one could help me. They claimed that they could not find an order matching my zipcode and last name in their computer, even though they did have my order number and that information listed under that. It was very unprofessional. I asked to cancel my order on 8/19/2004, and was told that if I did not cancel they would ship the product that day. I said okay, and now on 8/23/2004, my account has been charged, and the product has still not shipped. I was told that it would ship today 8/23/2004, and then called back later in the day and was told it wouldn't ship until tomorrow. I told them that they could upgrade my shipping, or the order was cancelled, and they chose to cancel it. I feel that this was ridiculous, and very unprofessional, and would never recommend this company to anyone."

Here is what happened to me:
I purchased:
1x ASUStek A7V600-X Combo with AMD3200XP processor
1x Maxtor 80Gb 7200 rpm SATA HDD
1st MB(motherboard) I received did not start up, obviously did not go through QA process.
Sent back for RMA.
2nd MB that I received did not work either and in fact had a shorted board circuit that cause my powersupply, DVD writer, and 1 old IDE harddrive to burn up.
3rd MB worked.
1st HDD(Harddrive) did not work.
Sent back for RMA.
2nd HDD worked for about 10 days then gave up the ghost.
They didn't want to replace.
Claiming it's my RAM faulty, then after I replaced the ram, they claimed I have a bad powersupply. In fact, after the second motherboard had burnt up, I had purchased a new COOLmax powersupply that definately is not faulty.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS RESELLER, THEY SEND YOU BAD ITEMS, NO QA PROCESS, THEN THEY REPLACE IT WITH REFURBISHED ITEMS. WHY PAY FULL PRICE FOR BAD ITEMS ONLY TO BE REPLACED WITH REFURBISHED?"
"They claim to provide a 1 year warranty on retail motherboards purchased from their site. I submitted a request for an RMA for a mb bought 6 months prior and they told me to go to manufacturer. Their reasoning was that the defective product would go to the manufacturer anyway and they did not carry that board anymore. I checked and they do list this board. They don't honor their warranties, so don't buy from them!"
"Well, it had to happen. I used to order from United Micro all the time when I was a system builder, and even left a favorable review of them here at one point. Thats all over with now.
I ordered an Abit KV8 motherboard, boxed AMD 3000+ Athlon 64 CPU and 512 megs PC3200 DDR400 RAM. I even made the man taking the order read it back to me to ensure nothing was missed.
The box arrived on a Friday. I looked at the invoice and noted that altho I havd been chareged for the RAM, it was not on the invoice or in the box. Great, Friday afternoon, no RAM, have to have the system up in a few hours. So I call united micro. Very casually, the man on the phone said "yeah looks like we forgot it" ... ?!??! Thats it? "We can send it out today and you will have it by monday." This is BS. its 2 day shipping time from them to me and United Micro says that they never, EVER ships ANYTHING next day, so it would have gotten here on Tuesday at the earliest. Finally I got someone on the phone who realized I was not going away and after 15 minutes of arguing he agreed to personally go and send the RAM UPS NEXT DAY at that very moment.
So Monday came along and I called for my tracking number. A very casual, indignant man said "Oh it never got shipped. We can ship it today." (*@$(*&@#$ WHAT THE HECK? They didn't even care that they never shipped it, offered no help, no discount, and then said they would ship it UPS Ground and only UPS ground. Then I got the man who promised me immediat next day shipping on the phone. He basically denied saying anything about "next Day" and he was sorry the shipping guys messed up (but yet he said he, himself, would personally box and send it to me on Friday) ... well, I opted for a refund instead, which I am waiting on.
These guys suck. The customer means nothing to them, and a complaint will be filed with the BBB.
Steer clear of these guys if you can."
