"Used Macs provided me with the exact computer I requested, with the appropriate software. The G5 was clean and appeared in excellent condition. It functions flawlessly and I can tell it was a machine that was inspected and properly maintained before it shipped. The delivery was on time and packed well.

The listing stated that it shipped with the original OS on the machine. It was delivered upgraded. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but I specifically wanted this machine with original OS. I called on the issue. Used Macs immediately shipped the appropriate OS. Sometimes errors happen, but Used Macs response to my issue was immediate and apologetic. I am in support of Used Macs and expect that when I need to find that particular computer required, I WILL return to Used Macs first.

9 out of 10, which is still an "A" in my book. Thank you Used Macs.

"UsedMacs.us sells used Apple equipment. They are located in West Hollywood, CA; I am located in New Mexico. I did not read the fine print carefully, so did not realize that I had only 24 hours to test the laptop (a 17" G4) after I received it (on Sept 24, 2010) to see if it worked satisfactorily, if I wanted a refund. It took me nearly 2 weeks just to get the info from my previous laptop loaded onto the new one. I started having problems with the laptop, so I took it to a local store to get it checked. They opened it up and found the hard drive had a funky piece of pink plastic taped to the back, and recommended that the hard drive be replaced.

I called the proprietor, David, who was very angry that I had opened up the laptop. He gave me an "RMA number" that the UPS did not accept, so it cost me $36 to return the laptop. He then sent it back via USPS. He stated that he had checked it out and added some more memory, and his tests showed that the hard drive was OK, but I did not accept delivery, as I felt that the laptop was still defective.

In spite of our difference of opinion, David did refund the $499.30 that was charged to my VISA. (I did not find this out until he emailed me on 2-17-11; I did not receive a statement from the credit card company in a timely manner.)

It would have been a lot easier to resolve this if I lived in the LA area so that I could work directly with David."

"David was very responsive to my initial inquiries about an 8-core Power Mac and answered all of my questions thoroughly. After some soul-searching and some Google searching I determined that while the 8-core would be nice, it'd be overkill for what I was doing. I decided to go with a nice quad-core and upgrade the memory, which David did for less than I can get memory anywhere else. I went with a model that had a "bent" handle and asked David to send me a few photos, which he happily did. I laughed when I saw the pictures; I couldn't see any noticeable damage at all! I guess they're just really picky, which is great for me. He also informed that they test the models with aesthetic "damage" more thoroughly than the unblemished models just to make sure there are no problems. The computer arrived 2 days earlier than promised and when I opened the case I'd swear it was brand new; EVERYTHING was immaculately cleaned.
