"These guys are scumbags. They are bait and switch scam artists. They get you to order with a low price then call you back to try and get you to buy over prices accesories.
I wasn't home when they called, so I called the next day. After spending so much time on hold that I had to call back (twice) I got someone who looked up my order number. He said, "I was surprised to see that you didn't order a battery". I said, "of course not, it comes with one". He said, "no it doesn't". I said, "according to Kodak's website it comes with one, are you not selling this in the original package?" he said, "no we're not" I cancelled my order.
If there's any fraud on my credit card, I'll know who did it, that's for sure. They should be prosocuted by the Attorney General of New York."
"My experience mirrors those of the others I read. I ordered a camera based on a froogle search. Three business days after my order was accepted, I got a call from them. They went over my order. Then they tried selling me additional items. I declined each one. Finally the tried to sell me an extended warrantee, saying that this new Kodak camera had no warrantee whatsoever. At that point I requested they cancel the order."
"Prior to placing my order with VIP Camera I called their 800 number to verify that Canon Digital Rebel was new with a US warranty. I also asked when the item would ship if the order was placed today being Friday 10/21. I was told that the camera would ship either Monday or Tuesday the following week. I received a call from them on Sunday to discuss the order. The first thing that came up was that the price on the internet was not correct and that it did not reflect that the price was after a $100 manufacturer's rebate. Then they tried to sell additional equipment such a 'longer' life battery and extended warranties. Finally, they told me that the camera although shown as in stock would not ship for 10-14 days. At that point I decided it best to cancel my order. I will not order from this merchant at any time in the future."
"Placed an order for the Nikon 8700 Coolpix camera for the extremely low price. I called to speak to someone regarding the order and was immediately asked if I wanted to buy a battery, lens, warranty among other parts for this camera. When I said the camera comes with these parts I was told it does not and is the body only. NO WHERE in the description does it say BODY only. When I confronted him that it did not say that, the customer service rep said it doesn't say it comes with it either (even though the specs in the description list the lens and battery and do not state 'optional' or 'order seperately') He then stated it doesn't even come with the wiring. I canceled the order and will never do business with this firm again. Take warning and watch out before you order anything from this companty"
"This place is a total scam. I was looking for a new konica minolta dimage a2 online, and found that this site had the best price. Going with my instincts, i contacted the company by phone and e-mail to go over specifics. I was assured that it was factory sealed and retail, contained all retail accessories, and brand new. After a few phone calls to the csr, who was nice, i decided to place my order. The next moring i recieved a phone call from "john", asking to confirm my order. When i called he tried selling my a memory card, and a rechargeable battery. I told him that the camera came with a rechargeable battery, it said so in the company's website. He told me i purchased an international model (no such thing), and if you entertain the thought that there IS an internation model... 1. why doesn't it say this on thier website?... 2. konica minolta's austrailia website lists the camera sold with the rechargeable battery. I canceled my order before it was shipped. The price was set low to bring in customers, then sold fraudulently. These people were nice before i ordered, then turned into complete jerks when i wanted to cancel. I want future potential buyers to use my experience as a lesson. see also usaphotonation as well.. same scam"
