I received an additional email on Wednesday that my order was shipped. The order was received Friday afternoon with regular shipping and handling. "I ordered a FLIR e5 EX thermal imager which Value testers sent via FedEx. First, Value-testers said they could not process my credit card because my billing address and my mailing address was different. That's a first for me. So i capitulated and used my billing for both. I was told that after I received the tracking number via email, that I can request FedEx drop it at a FedEx drop point. I did, FedEx site says that would likely change the delivery date so I opted to use my mailing address as stated on FedEx site - FedEx sent a confirmation email stating that my request had been successful. I downloaded FedEx app for tracking along with watching email alerts. During the day, email stated that FedEx attempted a delivery - I was home, no FedEx arrived - turns out the delivery was the billing address. Further investigation with FedEx, I was told that only the shipper can request a change of address although I had a FedEx confirmation.
I spoke to Melissa in Value-testers and apparently FedEx supervisor is incorrect in their protocol. After numerous calls, I tracked down my package and picked it up. So much for paying expedited delivery.
I get home, opened the package, it looks used, stained and scuffed. Missing the stand alone charger and additional battery, and had a lose rectangular piece of plastic in the box which seems to be a display cover to another type of item. I am surmising that value testers rummaged through the boxes in order to make up for missing items in other other boxes and just failed to replace the items that were removed from my package prior to shipping. I m believing that this is their operating procedure.
Immediately I went to the Value testers web site and left a message. Then I looked around their site to locate their return policy - wouldn't you know it - my product has been calibrated therefore it isn't eligible for return, as well there is a restocking fee for "non-defective" items, along with other "caveats".
Here it is Friday into Saturday, I need to wait for Monday. Let's see what happens, I will update. Although, Melissa and the tech ( I believe his name is Mark) were very helpful and nice, I cant leave a review for customer service until my issue is resolved."
