"It took about a week for the bags to actually ship out after my order problem because of an issue of them not actually having it in stock when I ordered them. When it did ship, it was shipped through UPS and arrived within a day and a half from the time it left the facility. I was not completely satisfied with any of the packaging that was provided by viking bags as it all looked used and as if it had been sitting around for a while. However, the actual bags and equipment seemed to be in great condition. The bags are nice for the price. Bags could be better but definitely would say they're priced fairly. I see them handling pretty well for a long time. Overall, somewhat satisfied with this product and the service. "

"The quality is what I expected. I just mounted the pack, the mounting is quick and easey. Time will tell if it all holds up. I will be looking for some bags. shipping was $24.00 they should put some flyers in with the bag . heck it was empty. thats marketing."

"The bags I bought for my 2001 shadow sabre look great. I did have an issue of what bolts to use on the bike to hard mount the bags. I called Viking and they were very helpful. I would recommend the hard leather bags to anyone
Thank you viking

"The bags are higher quality than I could have hoped for the price I paid. Costumer service was wonderful in assisting with a problem with the order and resolved it quickly."

"Mostly good experience. Bag seems good quality and as described. Shipping was fast and as stated.

That said, despite the seller knowing the kind of bike I have, they did not warn me at check out that I needed a kit to relocate my rear signals. They would have sent me the kit for free with my order, but now I have my bike apart and will have to pay and wait for the kit. Viking bags is not willing to rectify now and would have been able to avoid this whole thing by putting a warning message on my order before checkout or just including the kit in the shipment as they know I'd need it.
Not impressed!

"1) customer service does not help enough, I was asking about any possibilities for free shipping, but he still told me on the price that I've already know - that is includes the shipping, without telling me that 'there is no free shipping for you' & no solution until the chat conversation cut off just like that,
2) the item that I received looks like pre-owned item & not new, I think maybe someone return the item, & viking sent to me the returned item on my purchase, because I can see the plastics cover already tear off & the items have some signs of wear.
3) no complete instruction how to mount the item, especially on where to put the bolts and nuts, furthermore, the bolts does not suits my bike, which I need to find another bolts at Lows. On the other hand, my purchase receipt was crumpled into the box, which I think reflect the quality of work from the packaging department
4) anyway, after managed to mount the saddlebags brackets, I kind of satisfy because the brackets works perfect holding the saddlebags,
5) however, overall satisfaction from customer service & product that I received, I give 2 stars, at least from the perception of a first time customer,

"Honestly this place is a scam. They shipped wrong bags, then when I sent back they said the bags I was supposed to receive were $95 dollars more than what I payed. So I linked them the bags I PAYED for at the price THEY LISTED.

PLEASE stay away, don't ignore all of the negative reviews.

"Bags are nice to look at. Shipping was extremely fast. Only problem I had was installation with supplied hardware. Be very careful in positioning bags using supplied hardware. I just bought a 2012 Yamaha V Star 950. I have less than 175 miles on it and have ruined a drive belt and chain guard on it. When positioning the bags using the supplied hardware (hard mounting), the brackets made contact with the chain guard and subsequently the drive belt. When installing consider extra loading on the back end of the bike, and angles of how the brackets position the bags. The brackets weren't angled out enough to allow for clearance for swing arm travel and the extra loading of wife and bags. Now I have a $600.00 dollar "oh CRap" moment, and a new left bag that is trashed. I wasn't able to enjoy the Memorial Day weekend. Be careful with placement if you consider using supplied hardware. "Good product, better price! Measure out the mounting holes first to make sure you don't mess up. mounting hardware could be better but it's free. goto the store and get longer bolts for more secure mounting options. got the teardrop style saddlebags and thy're great. locking features nice too! unbeatable for the money. best out of all the other companies i purchased with ( saddle man, jafrum, and leather express ). great sturdy bags that are easy to clean. dont hestitate to buy! NO COMPLAINTS FOR THE MONEY."

"Don't buy these bags....they have universal brackets that will most likely not fit your bike...... Here is what there customer service suggested. I purchased bags for my 1997 Honda Valkyrie.....the brackets you sent me will not work.
what can you do about that?
Robert: what kind of bag was it?
me: Standard Trainon Studded Motorcycle saddlebags
Trianon
Robert: what model bike is it?
me: Valyrie 1500 Standard
Honda
Robert: what exatly affects the brackets from working?
me: They will not clear the shocks....the mounts are about 1 1/4 in depth. They would need to be 2 inches to clear.
Robert: a quick fix would be to add spacers.
me: Robert.......are you serious???
I can see on your web site...exactly what the problem is.....you have one hardware mount for all bikes....as far as I can tell...
You must get this same call everyday.....
Robert: yes, hardware provided is universal. if it doesn't fit I'd suggest a shock cutout bag.
me: Probably these bags would work on something like my Harley Springer Softail.....
Robert....you sell these bags and show that they specifically fit my bike....

Thank you for contacting us.
Your chat session was disconnected because it was idle for too long.

I called them on the phone......put on automatic hold for 15 minutes...then told to leave a message.

"Bought a pair of leather bags for my Vulcan 900. Bags were generally OK but the bolts supplied were garbage. The left bag just dropped off as I'm going down the road. Inspection showed the the two M8 bolts just SNAPPED OFF at the fender bracket. They were installed and tightened by hand with pretty modest torque. I had to drill out and re-tap both holes on that side of the frame to remount the scratched up bag. Of course I went out and bought real metal bolts this time...

Emailed "customer service" the day it happened - no response. Sent follow up email a week later - no response. Third time - same thing. They keep sending me spam about more products I can buy but nobody seems to care about what happened with the product they sent me. The price seems good but stay away from these clowns - not worth it.

"I had been in the market for saddle bags for my softail for a while and I didn't want to pay the ridiculous prices HD charges for theirs. I looked around, signed up for a few HD forums and asked around to see what other people were buying. I got a mixed batch of reviews for different companies but the one company that was mentioned most often was VikingBags. That being said, I looked for reviews, including this site, and made my own decision. I LOVED IT! The bags came on time and they looked just like they did on the website. I placed my order over the phone just to be sure that I was getting what I needed. I don't understand how people can say the installation instructions were hard to understand. I am no Tim "the toolman" Taylor but they're very straight forward and easy to understand. You have to be a neanderthal not to be able to understand the instructions. But I digress, the customer service guy I talked to was nkowledgable and patient with me given that I had a lot of questions. I the only thing that slightly bothered me was the fact that they charged me for shipping on such a large order, when most companies offer free shipping if you buy more than $100 or so. I did ,in fact, use their Halloween sale coupon they had and that saved me 10% off the top, which pretty much paid for the shipping if you think about it. . That is it, the bags installed properly and the mounting hardware was sufficient. I haven't had to call them back for anything but I would buy again, you can catch me on the forums as AZRider."

"Review for Viking Saddle Bags for Suzuki C50 Boulevard

The saddle bags are excellent and top notch but the instructions and hardware are of poor quality.

The first issue is the instrucitons which are vague. The bolts were not only too short for my bike but one of them was cross-threaded as if the bolt was cast and the mold was off-center resulting in a reject. Doesn't really matter anyways as they are too short anyways and I'm off to the hardware store to get bolts that will fit. I thought this may be a isolated messup but after reading other reviews it seems to be a Viking quality control issue that has affected others. The brackets are nice and the bags are excellent but plan a trip to the hardware store when the bags come in. All in all, the bags themselves are absolutely wonderful.

I didn't deal with the company directly as I don't have the time and it's faster for me to go to the hardware store and get the hardware that I need so I can't rate the customer service which I'm sure is just fine.

"Buyer beware!

Purchased motorcycle saddle bags from this company. What was represented as a hassle free complete turnkey package turned out to be quite a frustration.

Here is what they promised: “Get the perfect match that suits your bike and fits like glove." “Each bag comes with Free Mounting Hardware. Yes now you don’t have to worry about getting bags from one place and going through the difficulty of finding the compatible mounting hardware for those bags. Most of the companies charge extra for those kit but we provide complete solution to our customers."

What they delivered: Poor fit for motorcycle. I selected the bags for my specific model of motorcycle and even chatted with customer service reps to make absolute sure that what I was ordering would work for my motorcycle. When they arrived, the fit was terrible and it is still not mounted because to get the bags in the proper position on the bike, the holes have to be drilled close to a sharp drop-off edge. The looks of the bags are ok, and the materials look ok, but the fit is poor to say the least. Some of the metal pieces also looked old and tainted or worn even thought it was supposed to be brand new. The hardware they sent to mount bags was also not correct. When emailing them about this they showed no interest in resolving the issue and disregarded that there was a problem.

Summary: Big promises. No delivery.

Hope someone is saved a headache from reading this and that you will not make the same mistake I did :-)
