"Didn't honor the 2 year warranty on my video card. Very disappointing."
"One of the best speakers I have ever had!"
"I recently had to deal with VisionTek for a dead-out-of-the-box item that we had held in our stock for sometime. It was a mid-range power supply, and simply not a product that our clients were in high need of. When eventually a client did require such a power supply, we were disappointed to discover it was dead. To make matters worst, upon first contacting VisionTek, they simply refused to warranty the item and simply said the warranty started from the day we procured the item from our wholeseller. To their credit, when they realized that were we a business they did agree to warranty the item. It was a frustrating experience all the same, but in the end they did stand behind their products and I have to commend them for that!"
"Hi! I'm actually shocked to see the rating so low for VisionTek. I've bought from them going on two years now. My first purchase was through TigerDirect, it was a refurbished HD 6770. I had just got into the PC scene & the price was right. I was satisfied so my next graphics card I bought from VisionTek's own site, an HD 7870 6-Eyefinity Edition (I still love this card). Again, good price & great performance from it. Going to replace it with their R9 280X next. Also bought RAM from them. Never had any problems with their products.

"I've ordered several Items from Visiontek. All the items were perfect.
Visiontek has been around for a long time and I have always trusted their products.
I recently bought some RAM from a sale they were having. Great price and great product."
"I ordered four low profile bracket kits for Radeon 7000 cards, I was shipped two kits instead of four. The two kits shipped weren't the ones pictured, and I couldn't use the VGA bracket.
The email on the website is not answered, the people that answer the tech support line blew me off. Don't bother."
"Like joecooler I decided to buy the go drive xtreme 2 from visiontek after reading a review on it from HardOCP. HardOCP reviewed the 1GB model and I figured there should be no big difference between a 1GB model and a 256MB besides the stroage space.
As fate would have it the 256MB go drive xtreme 2 has proven to be infearior goods. I worked fine for a short while and then it got flakey. Windows would act as if it was quckly unplugged and then plugged back in even though it did not move. Then the drive stopped working entirely, windows would not detect that anything had been plugged in.
When I ordered the drive for $40 my recipt said that it would cost 44.99 total. A little bit later I find that my card has been charged $50.
I emailed them asking for an RMA and they agreed. The said it will cost $10 for them to replace/ fix the drive, and after seeing what happened to Joecooler i'm going to need to spend even more money for a tracking number.
In the end the stupid drive will cost me an upward of $65 assuming it won't break again. For that price I could have gotten a 1GB drive from some other place. To put even more salt into my eye the drive is now advertised as $35
I would also like to mention that they do not use the same email address, when they send me the order confirmation they said I needed to email them for a tracking number. I did and I got a reply from a different person who's email address didn't even end in a @visiontek.com
This will teach me to never buy from anyone unless I check resellerratings.com"
"I purchased a flash drive from these guys based on a review from [H]ardOCP. What a huge mistake! There are a few companies that [H] is always praising and never criticizing and Visiontek seems to be one of them. So much for unbiased journalism.
Anyway, I bought the 256MB drive which was kind of spendy at $40. I was really jazzed tho as [H] said it had the necessary software to make it bootable - no more floppy drive - yay! However, the boot function turned out to be highly problematic - it would boot but then I couldn't do anything with it - no dir, no cd, no thing. Wierd. So I got an RMA number and sent it back for a refund. The RMA process was somewhat amusing as they never gave me an address to mail it to, and when I asked the guy for an address (he had an Asian name) he gave me his email address - doh!
So I mailed the drive back via USPS Priority. After 4 days I sent an email to check that they had received the drive and find out when I'd get my refund. No response. I sent another email. This time the guy responded that his "warehouse" hadn't informed him that they'd received it; did I have a tracking number? Sadly I don't. Over the next two weeks I continued to send emails occasionally, and always get the same response. The general sense I get is that they have made no effort whatsoever to try to locate my package.
Now I know that packages to occasionally get lost, but my experience with Priority mail has always been stellar. Quite honestly I just don't believe this guy when he keeps telling me they haven't received it. As I said, I get the feeling they haven't even bothered to look for it. It's either lying unnoticed somewhere at their "warehouse" or somebody noticed it didn't have tracking, insurance, or signature gaurantee, and swipped it. Either way, they haven't done a thing to help me out, or make me feel that they've worked to give me good support.
On a side note, there is something very wierd about this company. I have tried to call their 800 number and get stuck in a permanent phone system loop. When the automated system answers it says you can hit 0 for an operator or enter your parties extension - no mention of customer support, sales, or anything else. But when you hit 0 you get the same message again! Hitting 0 a second time gets you a message that "that extension isn't valid" and the system hangs up on you! I sent email about this problem to their sales email address and never heard back; the problem also hasn't been fixed. Clearly they don't actually want to deal with customers. Their model is "sell it and forget it". Also, the phone system doesn't say anything about Visiontek - it just talks about the Hartford Computer Group. My best guess at this point is that Visiontek as a real company doesn't exist - it's just a front for this Hartford Group, who has nothing to do with the design or manufacture of the products - they're buying them blind from some company in Taiwan.
Bottom line - I'll never buy from these yahoos again and I'd recommend you not buy from them either."
"I placed an order for an X800 Pro on 8/10/04, and promptly received an order confirmation. The confirmation said to reply to the e-mail if I wanted to check the status of the order.
I replied the next day to see how things were coming along, and a few hours later I got a strange reply: "My website has been down and I am hoping that you [sic] order will ship in a few days." "My website was down"? How did I order?
It was now Friday and still no word. I sent an e-mail asking if I would get a shipping notification and/or tracking number. After two days I sent the same e-mail to two of their posted e-mail addresses on their website. After receiving no response I called their 800 support number and found that they (he?) don't work on weekends.
I sent a final e-mail to cancel my order, and the cancellation was confirmed Monday morning by the same person who originally e-mailed me that strange message.
Over the course of one week my order was no closer to being shipped. I can not speak for the quality of their cards or support, but I will not be ordering directly from Visiontek ever again"
