"I ordered a limited edition of a dvd boxset and was sent the regular edition. I have spent the last week arguing with them and they absolutely refuse to admit they were wrong. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DECEPTIVE COMPANY."
"Have made many purchases from this retailer... they are one of THE best to buy directly from for used DVDs and CDs. Always excellent condition, decent shipping times, and I can use FYE store credit at their site. Highly recommended for purchasing used items."
"WHEREHOUSE.COM IS A SCAM COMPANY , I SOLD OVER 80 CD AND DVD , FOR A PRICE OF 106$ THEY SEND ME 61$ AND CLAIM ALL THE CD WERE HEAVILY SCRATCHED AND THEY HAVE A POLICY THAT THEY DON'T RETURN ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED , I WENT THOU ALL MY CD AND MOVIES , AND ALL IN WORKING ORDER , I ALSO PAID 20$ FOR SHIPPING AND THE REIMBURSED ME 5$ ,,, SO LETS SAY YOU'LL SEND THEM 100 AND RECEIVE A EMAIL THAT 50 DIDN'T PASS THE INSPECTION PROSES , THEY KEEP THE MERCHANDISE AND PAY U FOR WHAT THEY WANT , THAT'S NO WAY TO DO BUSINESS"
"I will never order from Wherehouse again. My pre-orders were canceled on two separate occasions because they claim they could not get them from their distributors, when the real reason is they did not want to honor their pre-order prices which are lower than what they are willing to sell. I imagine in a few weeks they will be "available" at their full retail price. Their profit-driven business model comes at the expense of their customers."
"I've ordered several times with Wherehouse and spent plenty of money with them. I order almost all my DVDs from them, and they're all used. I've also ordered used CDs and video games. I've never had a problem with the quality of the products (some even show up in factory packaging "used"!) and they always ship really fast. I will always use Wherehouse, they are trustworthy and professional. I recommend them to all my friends."
"I was VERY satisfied with Wherehouse. I sold them some CDs. They give you ample time to get them to them. (Quoted price remains good for 30 days). They emailed me promptly to inform me they received my items and confirming the amount they were paying - and they paid me a few days after that.
Totally satisfied with their business!"
"I recently purchased 3 CD's and a DVD from Wherehouse (all of them new items, as
Wherehouse sells both new and used). This was my first experience with them. I
have several CD's and DVD's that I'd like to sell TO them, but was
hesitant to do so based on their Reseller reputation, and I didn't want my
purchase to get bogged down or delayed, so I limited my transaction to buying from
them, rather than a mixture of buying and selling. What prompted me to
buy from them was a recent 30% off all items sale. My transaction was
completely smooth and went off without incident. Wherehouse has two
distribution centers, one in Florida (my homestate), and a second in
California. Due to stocking issues, my order was shipped in two pieces,
with two units shipping from the Florida warehouse, and two units
shipping from the California warehouse. I was informed of this via
email, so I have no problems with their level of communication. The
units that shipped from Florida arrived well packaged and in mint
condition, and arrived in 2 days. The units that shipped from
California were equally well packaged and arrived in 8 days, but the
extra time was also in part due to no mail service over the Columbus Day
holiday. To purchase these items on Amazon would have cost me $66, but
with Wherehouse my cost (due to the sale) was subtantially less, $46.
I would not hesitate to purchase from them again, and hope to sell to
them in the near future."
"I purchased two items from Wherehouse; a used item on clearance and a full priced item. Because I was saving money on the used item I decided to swing the extra cash for the other item. Wherehouse emailed me several days later informing me that the sale item was cancelled and that the other item was shipped. Enraged, I searched for a contact number to sort this out with Wherehouse.
Sure enough, Wherehouse no longer has a phone number for their internet sales posted. All correspondence must be through email. To make the long story short, Wherehouse has a good return policy as the return shipping was free. However, the fact that Wherehouse will cancel parts of an order and still ship without further approval is a bad practice. This is exacerbated by the apparent lack of phone support. My recommendation is to avoid Wherehouse as there are a lot better e-retailers out there."
"I submitted an absolute mint, never-played CD copy of Moulin Rouge to this company at a buy-price of $6.25. I've never sold to Wherehouse.com before, but have sold numerous times on Ebay or Amazon with a near perfect, 5 year track record. I sent the item in immaculate condition, in a bubblewrapped envelope, marked with the order number, priority mailed and with delivery confirmation. I've watched all week, knowing that the CD was quickly delivered, expecting to receive a promised confirmation copy from them, indicating that processing my credit was underway. That never happened. Finally, one week later, I receive a vague generic email from Andrea in customer service, the same person handling all emailed correspondence, etc., telling me that my copy would not be credited because a UPC code was missing or mismatched. This is a blatant lie and absolutely impossible considering what I know. I purchased this CD from a local Fred Meyer chain after the movie debuted on DVD. I'm an adult collector who stored the copy away and never used it. The UPC code, art, casing and disc were as pristine and accounted for as the day I brought it home brand new. Now, conveniently, Werehouse.com plans to keep the CD and undoubtedly sell it as new or near new for their pure profit. This, because of a very clever policy giving them the self-proclaimed right to reserve or amend their pricing and standards per individual and said individual's merchandise. I don't have much history with Wherehouse.com, and I'll never shop or sell there again. I think it's totally outrageous that they're attempting to manipulate and defraud me like this. I half-expected it under the odd circumstances that they pronounce to do business there, but I thought I'd give it a serious try first. Now I'm going to do everything within my means to get my CD back and make sure that these people never attempt to cheat or take advantage of another honest consumer again. "
"Preordered two items from them. My order was confirmed within a day, but a few days later I was informed that one of the items would be on backorder for several weeks. I elected to cancel my entire order (which may only be done over the phone and they appear to only have one operator for the online store) and take my business elsewhere. I was told that my order was correctly cancelled, but a few days later I received a shipping confirmation for the other item. Took me a while to get through to their operator. Their phone system didn't put me on hold, just kicked me to his voicemail which I decided against. Kept calling back until I spoke to him. My order's listed as cancelled but that apparently didn't get to the shipping department who sent out my order anyway. Now I have to go to the hassle of shipping it back to them."
