"Restoring my wife's 1990 Geo Prizm, Gadget (he was her true first love). Ordered a fuel tank from Wholesale GMC Parts Online (shown as AVAILABLE on the website) and informed my wife it was on the way. She was so happy she literally cried.
The next day I received an email from the company stating that the manufacturer had "discontinued the item". You don't say. On a 34 year old Geo Prizm? Why the hell to you think she was thrilled that we found one? And now there's tears in her eyes again.
I have no doubts that absolutely no attempts were made to actually locate another tank (used OR new) to try and make the purchase right, but rather a generic email (excuse) was dispatched and responsibility for the mistake brushed aside.
Well at least I know where I stand with these people, and where I will NOT be looking for the rest of the parts for the restoration.
