"We have recently finished a large kitchen remodel using cabinets from Willow lane.
The experience with their designer Virginia Porten was beyond 5 stars. She is so good at what she does. her 3 D renderings were spot on with the ultimate look. Even after the cabinets were ordered and her job was done, she answered my questions promptly. Even helped me visualize in 3 D what a certain back splash tile might look like. i would recommend her without hesitation to everyone I know.
Other people from Willow Lane-brenda the claims manager, Ed in charge of shipping were all responsive, easy to reach and gave considered answers to everything that arose along the process.
As far as the quality of cabinets, functionality, price- we are quite happy.
A few words of caution if you are going this route.
1. Weakest link in the chain is shipping. We had an awful day awaiting UPS frieght. They expect you to unload the shipment and take it inside from their truck yourself. it is called curbside delivery and no one mentions it till order has been placed. I had arranged movers to do this for us but UPS freight gives a 10 hour window, so go figure how to manage that. I tried calling their terminal so I would get a 1-2 hour notice when they arrive and have the movers come accordingly. They never had a straight answer. In fact due to some mistake, they never assigned a driver to the truck containing our shipment and at 4pm they told me they can't send it today. A lot of shouting later, a supervisor stepped in, sent a driver with the truck. Luckily our movers were able to come at short notice and all was well. But really if willow lane would get a shipper which delivered inside the home and not leave customer responsible for unloading and checking all shipment for damages, it would be much easier for anyone to order from them. Just give people the option of in-home delivery. Because of our experience I would not place a large order from Willow Lane in future. It was just too stressful.
2. There were some mess ups and delays. missing pieces, wrong pieces. Brenda helped promptly but things are slower at warehouse level. The manufacturer is in TN. so if you are on a tight schedule you will be disappointed.
3. The manufacturer we ordered from- timberlane offers only single oven cabinets. the double oven or oven microwabe combo does not fit properly even after cutting out bottom drawers. if you cut two there is big gap on top. if you cut one top is a bit too high. I can live with it but wish I had know before.
4. finding a good contractor to work with you if you don't order cabinets from their guy is tough. very tough. so make sure you find someone reliable before you order.
One star off is for the whole process of ordering cabinets online. It is definitely more hands on and stressful than ordering from wherever you contractor wants you to.
For willow Lane itself our experience was close to 5 stars."
