"I have been waiting for them to return my phone call since friday 1/20/23 , they act like it is a big deal to return a call in 48 hrs,. I have been buying ALL my solar supplies from windy nation since 2015. The customer serivce was great until the last few years and have been gradually been going down. I added how much I spent since 2015, over $7200. I am ready to start using Amazon, where I can get better pricing and service.

"I bought the Windy Nation ANL fuse holder and a 250AH ANL fuse to replace a "trippy" circuit breaker in my RV's inverter system. It was mandatory that the holder have a good cover to prevent shorting to my RV frame on the exposed positive terminals. I installed the holder and fuse in late May 2021 and found it eliminated all of my tripping issues. I was a happy camper, but over summer months I discovered the terminal cover just won't stay on when on the road. Even the smoothest highway had enough bumps to knock the cover off. We travel with our refrigerator running on AC power, so it was simply unacceptable to not be able to rely on the terminal cover being in place to prevent shorts to the 2000W inverter cable. I spent the summer checking and reattaching the cover with no long-term success. After a long September/October road trip vacation with continuous cover failures, I finally had to do something. I ordered a safety MEGA fuse block from Blue Sea Systems. Their cover, while about double the cost, has a cover with 2 metal clips that prevent it from ever coming off, even under severe shocks of a bad road. When I brought the issue up to Windy Nation, first they said they never heard of this issue before. Given how loose the cover is on the base, its hard to believe that. Then they said when this problems happens it usually because the user has cable that is too large. I am using 1/0 cable and the fuse holder is rated to accommodate 2/0 in their listing so that isn't the problem. Then they asked for my sales invoice which I promptly provided. They said they would not issue a refund because it had been 5 months (Its really not quite 5 months). I really didn't intend to ask for a refund but chocked it up as a learning experience. But their reactions in this case are ridiculously petty. The block does not function as billed. It never did. If they can't stand by a simply product such as a fuse block, how can they be trusted to back more complex and fragile items? I give them a rating of 2 because the fuse worked perfectly well and solved my problem. But the doesn't function and their customer service is poor and doesn't deserve a "1". They proved that by first saying it has never been an issue, then blaming out of specification cable use, then simply saying it been 5 months so its too long. In fairness, they offered me a credit toward a future purchase, but I don't need anything they offer in their inventory. I'd look elsewhere for whatever you are looking for. I don't think we can trust their products will perform as stated, and in this case they have proven they will not stand by it for a reasonable period of time, which in this cases is not more than 5 months for a part that should last and function for decades! Find a supplier you can trust. I am not convinced they can be. "
"Of the equipment purchased from Windynation: 2 panel 200watt solar system, 10 AWG wire, connectors, batteries, panels, controller (s), ANL fuse holder eith fuze, and pure sine wave 3000 watt inverter, and the brackets to adjust the angle of the panels. The wire, fuze holder, fuze and panels are the only things trouble free after 8 weeks of use.
"Support" has you test, tear apart, test, blames the connections (the ones they supply), then disappears.
Nada, no return messages, no contact. Once it is clear that it is their equipment that has failed.
I wish that you could give a negative rating"
"Spent thousands but totally disrespected. Sent back expect parts for refund. Called, verified receipt of package. Never got refunded. Al who is totally incompetent for the role he plays was rude and wanted me to produce all kinds of bs before he could proceed. Taking your money is easy and quick. But if you're looking for a refund forget it. Al told me he didn't receive said items when his office verified they got it? Never again. I'll take my next 5000.00 to Missouri wind and solar. They value their customers and seem to be more solvent. Good riddance to the hateful al and windy nation. I still want my money even though it is trivial to you and your company"
"It appears to me that this company has many serious issues as I read over the poor reviews. There were some good one also, but if there weren't they would not be in business at all. I saw on ebay that this company had wind turbine blades that would work for my wind turbin , but the price was more than I feel was a reasonable price. The ebay ad has an "make an offer" section, so I did make an offer for the turbine blades. The offer was not even replied to, so I did not get the blade set. No big deal.
I instead went to their website and found a cheaper set of blades and went ahead and purchased them, as they were more affordable for what I needed, just smaller. I got my email comfirmation of the receipt of payment. The following day I got my ups shipping transaction comfirmation, etc. I called the company and let them know that I was interested in their other blades and if they would negotiate on the price some, as their ebay site shows, I would prefer the other blade set. We could possibly make a larger sale if we could negotiate? The guy that answered the phone said they do not have much mark up at all and no negotiation was possible and that I should get my already paid for blades the following week.
The day prior to when the blades were to arrive, I get another email saying I was given a refund of my purchase!! I have phoned them, leaving messages with no reply. The guy evidently took it personal that I make him an offer on an item he has "Make an Offer", that was not up to his liking, so he cancel's my order after it being planned to ship! This is a shady company, whom I do not recommend doing business with. They will not return my calls or email. Its sad I have to buy some products made in china. I said the heck with it and just bought another entire wind turbine made in china, for less than the price of his oversized 80 inch wind turbine blades. I already have it and the quality is not bad and looks MUCH better than the US made products delco alternator turbines. "
"I did a fair amount of research on what I wanted for the solar set-up on my adventure van and that always led me back to Windy nation's website and products. The flexible panels that I am purchasing were highly rated on a couple of review sites. (I'm purchasing (2) 100W flexible panels, (1) 3000W PS Inverter and (1) TrakMax MPPT Charge Controller).
I don't care that they're not a giant corporation with a large inventory and 1000 page catalog. There's nothing wrong with specializing and providing excellent customer service - which they did.
Before I placed my order I had a couple questions, so I emailed them on Friday evening. They had responded before breakfast on Saturday. I placed my order Saturday evening and it was confirmed by Sunday morning. Payment went smooth using PayPal. Today (Monday) I received the shipment confirmation and UPS tracking number.
I'm in no rush for the items, so I chose standard shipping which was free (I'm new to online shopping, but that seems rare from a small business). Once the items get here and I've had time to test everything I can update my review, but, so far, I've been quite happy with the experience.
UPDATE 3/9/17 - Items arrived UPS today. Everything was very well and conscientiously packaged (if I could upload photos, I would). No visible damage to packaging or components inside. Will be testing everything this week and will supply another update as to the outcome."
"Windy Nation didn't ask me to write a review. I saw a negative review which I didn't agree with, so I am making a positive one. I purchased 10 polycrystalline 100 watt panels. Installed on a 25 foot travel trailer. Three per 30 amp MPPT controller, one on a 20 amp MPPT (all not from Windy Nation). They all work better than I expected. Two sets of three panels charge two sets of Bosch AGM 92 AH batteries. The other set of three panels charge three flooded Deep Cycle size 29D. One panel charges an AGM 92 AH Deep Cycle battery. All panels will charge batteries in two to four hours depending on how much was used at night. When in use, the batteries are never taken below 11.0 volts. I found out that during cloudy and raining days my panels are putting out between 13.8 to 19 volts each. Of course the darker it gets the less they put out. I also found out I don't have to adjust the angle, (was doing winter and summer) I keep them at about 14 degrees on my own designed base and mounting brackets. I have my setup about 40 miles south of where Windy Nation is located. I am a retired Electronic Electrician California Contractor. I am finding out solar is a completely different field than what I am used to doing with 50-60 HZ and basic 12 vdc equipment. I have already designed and built an all electric vehicle, which was shown at the 2006 Los Angeles Alt-Energy Car show. I am really happy with Windy Nation's solar panels. "
"I wouldn't advise using this company for a solar panel kit. It's made very cheap and doesn't last long. When you have to contact customer service about the products they immediately get hostile. I didn't get the problem resolved after several months of communication with customer service. I'm stuck with a $500.00 junk kit. Customer service is very rude and unprofessional. They lack communication skills. I will not be buying anything else from them. Take my advice....do not buy anything from these people. You get what you pay for. "
"I bought a wind turbine that was supposed to work for my setup but it just fell apart. When I called they never helped me. I should have seen through their lies"
"I think the most disappointing thing about this company is the pretend manufacturing base that they would have their consumers believe that exists. Exacting specifications professionally written up but at the end of the day the majority of the products are just poorly made imported Chinese imports with some sort of catchy sticker. At the end of the day I am unsure who will be there to warranty all of these 100 watt panels when this company with the 25 year warranty no longer exists? I think that it is safe to say that these guys are masterful at smoke and mirrors but very little substance."
"I am totally impressed with the service that I received from Windy Nation.... When I was looking for a solar power kit I chose them for there reviews and rating on Ebay.... I did have a few problems with duty and a broken solar panel and my concerns were dealt with right away...... They put all there effort into making me happy as a customer...... I will definitely order more equipment from them...... Emails at ****@**** were met and dealt with immediately....... I also felt that the way I was treated by this company deserves my time to write this review..... It takes serious effort on a companies behalf before I will write a review..... Kudos to Windy Nation "
"We bought the windynation 200w solar kit 4 months ago. We live in Boulder, CO so this has plenty of opportunity to work. We have it plugged into 2 marine batteries (like car batteries, but bigger and they are deep cycle), and we have an inverter connected to those. The inverter is in the house, and the batteries are outside. The wire goes through the wall. We plug things into the inverter.
This was easy to put together. One thing I like about windynation is that they can actually answer installation and set-up questions about solar panel systems. I tried talking to a few other vendors but they were not able to answer my questions.
You have to buy the batteries, but this came with everything else. Oh, and if you want to run AC household appliances like us, you will need to get a DC to AC inverter. Get an inverter that is larger than you think you will need. Once in a while you might have several different items hooked up to the inverter and that will be a lot of Watts. We are using a 3000 Watt DC to AC inverter.
I can run my laptop all day, as well as recharge the cell phones and power several other small appliances when needed. My wife can also run her laptop. If we only get on the laptops after work, we can run them all night. I've had to switch to grid power a couple of times if I've used my laptop all day in conjuction with some other appliances, but I've never had to switch over if we have only used the laptops.(This doesn't count the rainy and really cloudy days we've had.)
This is not the biggest solar panel set, but it's very good for starting out and learning about solar power. It's inexpensive enough to set up and charge all your rechargeable stuff whenever you need it, as long as you live in a fairly sunny area. And I am happy with the quality of the items and installation instructions.
You're not going off the grid with this set-up, but you'll save money off your electric bill each month and, more importantly, you will have a back-up power supply when the grid goes down or in cases of emergencies. And you get to tell all your hippy friends you went green!

"Obviously the good reviews were done by Windy Nation. Go to barefoothippy1 on Youtube and see what they done to me and so many others. This company now sells dangerous plastic blades that break in any high wind at all. I have gotten hundreds of emails from there REAL customers saying they got the same Junk as i got. Windy Nation is writing most reviews themselves. You'll find alot of complaints on windy nation on ebay. There rude when you complain and try to buy you off. Windtura 750 from windy nation doesn't perform anywhere near they state it does."
"I purchased a Windtura 750 with all the the components and four 100 Watt solar panels from Windy Nation in May 2011. I installed the wind turbine and solar panels in July 2011. I have had the system running for almost a year and half with no problems at all!
The only time that anything happened was during a big wind storm. The 50 amp circuit breaker for the wind turbine tripped. No big deal though. The day after the big wind storm, I manually re-set the breaker and everything was back to normal.
Customer service is great .... I ordered my system over the phone because I was not sure about all the components I needed. The wind turbine and panels arrived 5 days after my order and everything was packaged well.
The only complaint I could think of is that they could make the wires coming out the back of the wind generator about 4 inches longer. This would make it easier during installation to connect these wires to the slip ring.
And the million dollar question? Would I purchase from the windy nation again. Yes I would. If I ever need more solar panels to expand my system, I will buy them from windy nation.

"Windy nation sells cheap knockoffs of other reputable wind turbine companies. There wind turbine listed as made in the USA has a Chinese motor , there dump loads have junk chinese resistors.
Stay away from this California company."
